The first front windshield they installed was low quality with obvious distortion, nauseating while driving. I don't blame the installers from not noticing, but it was glaringly obvious from inside the car. I'll give them one star for coming back to look at it and replacing it within a week or two. The second windshield was fine, but the rubber strip at the top was partially ripped off while going through the car wash two weeks after installation causing a leak on that side. However, I was told by a different company that the leak was from not enough urethane used during installation, essentially improper installation. The strip coming off a little shouldn't have mattered. I paid for the installation on site, but they said that I had to go to their location for warranty work. This is for a minivan and I have 4 kids to drop off and pick up daily, so logistically this wasn't ideal. Reza, the manager, offered to have them come back and fix it, but after weeks and weeks of calls and broken promises, no one has come back and I have given up on them. Now, I have to call another company to come and reinstall it. I usually 4 star a company even when things go wrong as long as they make it right, but this company has wasted so much of my time. read more

Talk about bad luck. My car does not live in D.C. with me since it would make my insurance rates skyrocket. A couple of months ago, I had borrowed it from where it was parked in Bethesda and parked it in front of my apartment in the city for two hours, only to come back to find its rear right side window had been randomly smashed. Nothing was taken, thankfully. But I knew these two hours would cost me. I called my insurance company and they recommended Safelite. But when they wanted over $300 to make the repairs, I did my own research. And good thing I did. This place replaced my window for $140! Not only that but their hours were far more flexible than my insurance company's preferred vendor. I would have been able to have it repaired the next day if I had wanted to - even in Washington D.C. I opted to drop it off at their garage and they went the extra mile to hold it overnight so I could not miss a minute of work. The one downside of this place is that they do sort of expect you to stay with the car and they're not very close to public transportation (beside the buses on Rhode Island Avenue). Also, I'm going to dock them a star for not noticing I had a flat tire the entire time they were fixing my window. I won't blame them for it but they could have told me. Great outfit. They were prompt, courteous, and inexpensive ($171 including tax to replace a front driver's side window). They have mobile units that service your car at your home or wherever it may be, or you can bring your car in to the shop. I called just before noon and they could fit me in right away at the shop. The repair took about 75 minutes. Note that the shop where they do the repairs is actually at 5125 Lawrence Place, about two miles away. They speak English, Spanish, and Arabic. read more

We were visiting Hyattsville in the midst of her lung cancer treatments in Ohio so she could see our new grandchild. Windshield cracked on the way to Maryland. We had it replaced at Auto Glass Warehouse. The tape they used peeled away paint on the railings on both sides of the windshield. We have pictures, received estimates for repair, spoke with the manager Ehsan Sard, sent emails, and have now called 8 times to try to find a resolution with no result yet. So, poor repair, and terrible customer service or responsiveness. We have been patiently trying to resolve this for more than 2 weeks remotely and finally today decided to let the Better Business Know, our insurance company State Farm, and now other consumers. Very frustrating to be treated in this way. Ironically, we picked them as a local company not nat'l chain, and with a good rating. And now regret it. I don't see a place to upload the pictures of the paint peeled away but we have them and sent to the company, State Farm insurance, the Better Business Bureau, and Google Reviews. read more

Someone smashed the rear passenger window of my 2005 Hyundai on a Friday night, so I went looking for someone quick to repair it at a decent cost. Several people suggested one company but I found Auto Glass here on Yelp and the positive reviews were spot on! The customer service over the phone was very friendly and they quoted me a price that was waaaay cheaper than the other 3 quotes I had obtained. They did not charge more to come out to my house either. The guy showed up right on time and finished the job quickly and professionally. It was like I was waiting for a catch or that the job would be shoddy but nope. Everyone I dealt with, from the original call to the follow up and then to the repairman on site was warm, friendly and professional. I would definitely recommend them and use them again. read more

The police officer who took the report Sunday morning suggested another auto glass company, but when I called they either weren't open or couldn't take me that day - it wasn't clear. So I looked for alternatives. Auto Glass Outlet was open and quoted a much better price. I took the car over. They have a large warehouse with rows and rows of auto windows. I chatted with the owner while the window was being replaced. They are also wholesalers and have a large inventory. While I was there, several dealers came in to pick up windows for their own jobs. Auto Glass Outlet is a family business, and it's clear that they know what they are doing. When I got in the car all of the broken glass had been cleaned up. Here's a funny story. The windshield of my mid 90s honda was hit by a rock when I was driving on the freeway. I'm kind of a penny-pincher so I decided to try to fix it using a windshield repair kit that I bought from amazon which cost about twelve bucks. Unfortunately, that project ended up cracking the windshield even more so that the crack was about a foot long and partially in my line of sight when driving. I ended up looking online to have someone fix it correctly and found this place. I called them on Sunday morning and they told me that I could drive down and they could fix it in a short amount of time. They gave me a great deal on it and the service was excellent. You can't beat the convenience of getting it fixed when most other businesses are closed on Sunday. Now, I don't have to miss work during the weekday to get it fixed, but I learned a lesson - penny-wise and pound foolish. I could have gotten it fixed right away with the rock impact, but tried to save money and do it myself. Luckily, this place repaired it at a good price. read more

This was really a struggle....frankly, the experience compelled me to sign up for Yelp, so that's not a good sign. After someone busted out a window in my car, I called on Monday and got a 10-12 time slot for a mobile unit to come out on Tuesday. The techs were nearly two hours late for an appointment that had a two hour possible time block. No one called me to let me know or give me any status update - I had to call in twice to solicit my own updates. Worse, when they couldn't find the car, they kept calling my work phone instead of the cell phone that I'd given them, prolonging the ordeal. Finally, when I inquired as to whether or not they would offer a discount for such a poor experience (and for wasting my entire day waiting for them without even a phone call), they gave me less than ten dollars off the price. It wasn't even worth the fifth phone call (yes, five) I had to make to the company that day because, though the dispatcher told me they were offering me a discount and claimed she would call the techs to convey to them the new price....shocker, she did not. Price was slightly better than other comps ($130 for a rear vent window installed on a four door sedan) and the techs were nice enough, but, honestly, pay a little extra cash and go with a more reliable company. For good measure, the phone number listed on Yelp isn't even the correct one - it is 301-864-5555. read more

I contacted Auto Glass Outlet on 8/28 to replace my front windshield. I was able to get an appt. within 24 hours and received a better price then I was originally quoted. An unmarked van came to replace my front windshield. I was very much satisfied with the service I had received until I ran into a problem. Three weeks later, I had to contact them because I found a small gap from the rubber sealer to the end of the windshield on both side. I had contacted them that the sealer on each side of the front windshield didn't seal the whole window all the way. (Water was able to seep into my car from the small gap.) I was told they didn't have any record of replacing my front windshield. I gave them my phone #, address, name and work order #. They still couldn't find me in their computer. I faxed over my work order receipt I was given on the day of my replacement twice and was told they never receive it. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. All they are concern about is getting it install. They're horrible with customer service and follow through. read more
