I truly can't recommend Gary and DMV Auto Glass more highly! They were willing to come out in less than 24 hours of my inquiry and gave me an incredibly reasonable price quote. I did my research first and chose them due to their great reviews, their prompt reply & overall really great communication, their comprehensive free estimate, and last but certainly not least, due to the fact that their services cost less than almost all of their competitors. Plus when my schedule changed, they were more than accommodating and really worked around me. On 7/20/24 I had my front passenger window replaced. Overall it looked great but I noticed flaws. The technician was kind and professional. However. The technician did not correctly placed all the parts back correctly. I wasn't able to open the door from the inside nor secured it. Also, the window does not roll up how the previous one or the others does - smoothly. It seems that it struggles a bit to roll up. And the window was left very Dirty. I tried contacting them but would not answer or return my calls. These people will take your money and disappear. I asked for a receipt and never received one. DO NOT use their services. They are horrible. The only proof I have is that I paid them through Zelle. So I have a name if I need to take to them small claims court or take any legal action. AGAIN DONT USE THEM. It is seldom the case that any service provider completes any job for the price that is agreed upon. They always find a way to add a hidden charge. DMV Auto Glass is no exception. DMV agreed to install a new windshield for $219, if I would write a check for $219 or pay $219 in cash. DMV said the charge would be slightly more, if I paid by credit card. So, we agreed that I would write a check for $219. Period. But, I ended up writing a check for $253.34. The difference entailed an extra $20 for rubber molding and $14.34 for sales tax. So instead of writing a check for $219, which was the agreement; I had to write a check for an extra $34.34. That must be one of the tricks of the trade to get an extra $20 on each windshield replacement. Wait until the last minute to mention that the molding costs $20 extra and that sales tax was omitted from the quote. I said something to DMV about the discrepancy in price, after they completed the job. They said that they meant to send a follow-up email to me, to mention that molding would cost $20 extra. But then forgot. And he apologized for the discrepancy. One would think that the cost of molding would be included in the cost of replacing a windshield because when you replace any windshield; it is understood that there will be materials other than the glass. There will also be caulking and molding. Etc. Overall, I would recommend DMV, anyway, if only because you are not going to do any better when you need a new windshield. You are never going to find any service provider who quotes a price and sticks to it. All of them have their tricks to the trade for finding an excuse to charge extra. read more

They texted me the very next day to give me an eta for when they will be at my place and fixed my window. Had my passenger side front window broken and wanted to get it fixed ASAP. My insurance company suggested another big name company to fix. When I called them I was quoted $270 and when I told them I had found some places that were almost $100 cheaper, they said it could be because they are using cheaper glass or even glass from junk cars. I was also told to make sure there was a warranty. Unfortunately, I had some debris fly from the road on 95 this weekend and crack my windshield pretty badly. I was pretty sure it needed a replacement as opposed to a repair. Time was of the essence because I was only in MD Saturday-Sunday. I called Nu-Pro because they had great Yelp feedback and said they were open on Sunday. Not sure where the disconnect was, but I called them twice on Sunday AM and no one answered. I left two messages and never heard back. So, now it was after 10 AM and the time crunch was getting more pressing. I went back to the internet and found DMV Auto Glass, also open on Sundays. He said he could make it out between two and three and would give me a ring to let me know when he was on his way. Phone rang around 1 and he was there before 2. Really nice guy and professional. He was upfront that he'd try and save the seal, but can't promise that it would work and that it would be another $20 if it wasn't possible. Gary is the man when it comes to you fixing your car window. Some dang-nab'd hoodlum broke the window of my wife's car while we were off on vacation. Weirdly, they didn't take anything. Even an admittedly old GPS unit. Not even the sweet collection of burnt CDs I made for her. So likely they were just into mayhem. But back to Gary. My wife checked with Safelite and one other place online and they were quoting her $280-$320 to replace the window. We got back on a Saturday evening and they couldn't get the window replaced until Wednesday.
