My second visit after a full windshield replacement back in December 2025. Well, after six months a rock out of nowhere chipped my windshield! I must tell you, my spouting of expletives and frustration lasted all of 5 seconds. My next thought was to visit Safelite to see if they could help and boy did they! Technician Donnel Jones took one look at my windshield and calmly stated 'oh sure, we can fix that'. In fact, Safelite made the appointment on the spot and within 1 hour; I was back on the road with a repaired windshield. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I had a very positive experience with Safelite Auto Glass.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] About a year ago, a rock hit my windshield and left a small crack. Fast forward to recently, and that tiny crack had grown to about the size of a quarter. I scheduled an appointment for a mobile repair, but literally overnight, that quarter-sized crack expanded even more. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I called Safelite, they were able to move my appointment up, but at that point, a full windshield replacement was necessary.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] That turned out to be the right call, because the crack quickly spread from one end of the windshield to the other. Sigh! I arrived about 30 minutes early, and my technician was able to take my car right away. He let me know the process would take around three hours, and he was spot on. The waiting area was spacious and comfortable, with a TV and a coffee/water station, which made the time pass easily. Once everything was completed and recalibrated, I was invited to inspect the work. They did an excellent job on my windshield, and I really appreciated the extra attention to detail. He was even able to transfer my car's insignia from the old windshield to the new one. Overall, a smooth, professional experience from start to finish. Extremely disappointed!!! DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!! A couple of years ago I needed windshield replacement and someone from Safelite alleged he was unable to perform the work without removing a piece from my vehicle. I gave him permission to remove the piece. He replaced the windshield. transaction complete. I was not completely satisfied, but no fuss, at least I had a quality windshield Today. I was excited when the Capitol heights Safelite technician knocked on my front door, but my excitement was quickly deflated when he informed me that he was instructed not to do the job at all because the piece that was removed by Safelite a couple of years ago was not on the car. One has nothing to do with the other!! If they could change the windshield a couple of years ago, they can absolutely change the windshield now?! I made an appointment almost a week ago, so they wasted my time, impaired my ability to be mobile, and because I paid in advance, they wasted my money!! I rarely complain about anything, especially not in public, but this infraction is unforgivable I need remediation for what amounts to more than an inconvenience. Look at all my other reviews. I'm on the highway a lot these days, and for the first time ever, I got a nasty nasty crack on my windshield thanks to a rock flying from a big truck one day. I found Safelite through my insurance and scheduling was a breeze. I got confirmation that the appointment was scheduled almost immediately, and I got text reminders every few days. It's pretty cool that I didn't have to take my car anywhere and they came to me. The time frame my person was supposed to come was 7:30AM-12PM, and I got a call at 8:50AM saying he was 20 minutes away. Bruce came on time and told me how it was gonna work, and just asked me to unlock my car. Then I went inside and was able to watch him from my office window. He finished within an hour as promised, and yay, now my crack is gone! While he was working, I got a text that let me load my card so I wouldn't have to do it on the spot. And once he finished and answered my questions, the payment was processed and we were done. I can't imagine how this could have gone any better, and this is the first time I've had someone come to me for car work. What a convenience! Update, after about 5 weeks of attempts to get a hold of someone at Safelite and getting the run around on if we needed to open a warranty claim or have the entire transaction voided and process a new windshield repair, we were informed that Safelite would reverse the original transaction and deductible and replace the windshield again as a fresh incident given the repair was not successfully ever completed. Part of the delay was that no one could ever get a hold of the Capital Heights, MD store as no one answers their phone, we were even told the district VP/manager would personally call me but never did. We insisted to go to a different location for the repair and they kindly accommodated me to have it done at Alexandria, VA (they were wonderful and we gladly drove an hour each way to avoid using the Capital Heights, MD location again). We were finally set to get the windshield fixed on 10/10/22, nearly two months since this situation started and we were told that Capital Heights would be refunding the deductible we already paid and to pay a second deductible at the point of service in Alexandria, Virginia. We did that and the windshield repair was wonderful at the Alexandria, VA location! A few weeks went by without a refund from Capital Heights from the August deductible paid on the incomplete repair, and we opened a credit card dispute. Our credit card company refunded the initial deductible. We though all was well...and that we could move on from the 20 plus hours of customer service nightmare we had been through for a simple windshield repair. We started receiving letters a few weeks ago from Safelite trying to collect the deducible from the original attempted repair in August 2022. We called in an explained the situation and told their invoicing staff that it was a mistake and to please investigate because the repair had to be done twice but we were not paying twice. Today we received a letter noting we will be sent to collections in 10 days if we do not pay them back the August deductible-- pay them twice for one windshield repair! Please beware of this company, there is no ability to fix any customer service issues. They will threaten to send you to collections even when they put in writing you will be refunded for a charge and you do not owe, and resulted solely from their incompetent work. read more

To begin the technician was great! And I had no problems with the installation. But that's when everything began to go downhill. After ordering the replacement window, receiving an appointment and paying for my new windshield on their website safelite.com. I was told after they completed the work at their Capitol Heights facility that I owed $400 more extra!!?? They told me that I chose the wrong windshield. When I told them that 1) there was no option to have me even CHOOSE a windshield and 2) I entered in my VIN number which the website automatically chose supposedly the correct windshield for me! Her nitwit response again was well you chose the wrong windshield. I asked to speak with the manager on duty Sommer Wilburn and she being equally dimwitted and not helpful told me that she couldn't do anything. When I requested a work order with my signature authorizing the work to no ones surprise she was unable to produce it. To add further insult she said that my account was sent to collections for payment. Mind you that my windshield was repaired on the 4th of Mar and was sent to collections for non payment for the alleged remaining balance in less than 2 weeks! She did offer to give me the invoice for the work performed but it was an invoice dated for yesterday instead of the day the work was actually done which was 2 weeks prior! This shop is an utter and complete cluster fxck run by imbeciles who are running a shell game on their customers. They honor the online price and agreement but once you enter their shop they do the ol' swithcaroo on you to fatten their pockets. I can't say this strongly enough, STAY AWAY from this shop! I came yesterday for a windshield replacement. All of the staff were friendly. The work performed was satisfactory. So far so good. The only downside was the wait time. My appointment was at 11:00. I checked in at 10:50 and was told someone would be out to get my key. At 11:20, the rep asked if anyone came out and I stated no. 3 minutes later, Clarence came out and introduced himself. He explained what would happen and gave me a time estimate. He said he would call when my car was ready. He did exactly what he said he would. The wait time would not have bothered me at all if I didn't have to get back to work. Hopefully there is no next time, but if it is, I will plan accordingly. read more

We have used Safelite AutoGlass in the past, and we have been very satisfied. Today we have been treated so horribly by Safelite AutoGlass that it is "safe" to say that we will never use them again. Booking appointments online with Safelite is straightforward and convenient, and they offer (for an extra fifteen dollar fee) a 7:30 am, first appointment of the day. I happily paid the fee and scheduled my day accordingly, figuring that I would have my vehicle available, with its new windshield, somewhere in the nine o'clock hour. 7:30 am came and went, and we never never received a service person or even a phone call to tell us that they were running late. At 8:15, I finally called Safelite inquire about the status of our appointment. I was told that the service technician was on his way to our house, and that he was "just about to call us regarding our appointment." I told the receptionist that I thought it was unfair that we paid an extra fifteen dollars to have a seven-thirty appointment, and I requested to have that fee waived. "Hold please," was her response. When she came back on the phone she informed me that the fee only meant that I would be the first to receive service that day, somewhere between 8:00 am and one pm. I told the receptionist that her information was contradicted by the online booking information. "Hold please." When she came back she said that the fee would be waived. What happened next is why we'll never use Safelite AutoGlass again. At nine am, a Safelite AutoGlass truck pulled up in front of the house. The driver then pulled into a neighbor's driveway, turned around, and went elsewhere. I thought he was just turning around to get a better angle into our driveway. Instead he disappeared and never came back! I called Safelite again at one pm, and I was told by "someone" answering phones that she was on the phone with "the shop," and that she'd call me right back. She never called back. I called again at 1:30 pm, and I was told that the woman with whom I spoke at one o'clock had canceled my appointment! I complained bitterly because that woman had no right to cancel the appointment. I was put on hold for half an hour by "Daniela," at the shop. She came back to tell me that a technician will be at our house BY FIVE PM! My day was completely ruined. Whether my windshield receives service or not, this is a shoddy way to run a company, and Safelite may never see our business again. Update: Our service technician was a very affable young man named Sean. Sean called me at five pm to let me know he was en route, running about forty minutes behind. He arrived at 5:35, and did a wonderful job for us. His efforts went a long way to repairing the damage done by the folks answering the phones. Before today I would have never considered anyone but Safelite to service our windshield replacement. Losing my plans for this day, thanks to the shoddy customer service of those answering the calls at Safelite, will definitely make me consider other options the next time I need windshield repair/replacement. read more

This is the best customer service experience I've had in a very long time. The back window of my car wash shattered, and I was quickly and easily able to book an appointment online for the next day. The service was outstanding -- thank you, Zachary -- and everyone at the front desk was ultra professional, quick, and easy to work with. First off giving them a star is pissing me off. They came to fix my car & the technician broke the middle piece to my car. I've been trying to get it fixed for almost a month now. The manager Summer seems to never return calls or answer & Connie has the worst attitude, customer service, & cannot problem solve. After making an appointment for 8am they confirmed they ordered the wrong parts. Connie then states that she cannot help me. After getting loud with her telling her what's been going on she closes her window & ignores me. This is piss poor. All my electrical wires are hanging & I have young children. Jeffrey arrived with mask protecting his beard and not his mouth and nose (camera to prove). He also continuously kept walking close to me. So much for 6 feet social distancing. He made me feel uncomfortable. Jeffrey explains he couldn't complete my repair because it was too hot and didn't offer any solutions other than rescheduling. When I spoke with Customer Service for Safelite and Geico, I was told what steps Jeffrey could have taken to complete the repairs.  I have since canceled my appointment on Friday and will not either do business with Safelite. False advertisements on Customer's safety and not being truthful on service. 1st time experiencing windshield crack and 1st time being in contact with Safelite. My service was great! Both techs were very professional and fast. The only reason that I didn't give a 5 rating is because when I submitted the claim that asks if the damage/crack is bigger than an dollar bill (which it wasn't) the 1st tech determined that it needed to get be replaced because of the cracks (maybe have us consumers send a photo to make sure a replacement isn't need). I waited a few hours for the tech only to have to reschedule. The 2nd tech came and installed but, I had to still go to a safelite location to have cameras calibrated. I made an appointment online and chose the morning window between 7 and 10 AM. I received multiple text messages updates which was great and they assigned 10 AM as my drop off time. I checked in about 10 AM on the dot and waited 30 minutes to speak to a technician. The process when I checked in was just me being asked my last name and a technician will be right with me and nothing more. Sense I'd self served & put it in all my details online in advance I guess there was not much to speak about anyway.
