So unfortunately had my cat stolen from my 2015 toyota prius, which was in mt view cali didn't know crime for this thing is "a thing" lol i know it's everywhere, but Hugo, which even the claim dept of my insurance said sir u have to bring it somewhere where it gets fixed, me, had so many troubles at the time, then Hugo approached me, some approached me coz the parts is either backorder a yr or so (even toyota), he even contacted other states oem or aftermarket which im in cali for smog passing, he ordered the parts, very honest, first order which I was very excited of course coz rental was to expensive, but the transaction when product arrived Hugo said it was opened which product might be exchanged or who what knows, then he looked somewhere else then from texas finally then applied my cat and extra protection, today drove my car again so happy. For sure I will come back to him for any future car issues, he is very professional and very compassionate about his job, not jus about money and his love his cars about it since he was young from what I heard from him. Hugo really helped us out with a pre-purchase vehicle inspection. He was aware of some issues with the make of car that we were thinking about purchasing, things we wouldn't have known unless we had gotten advice from a professional. Took in our daughter's VW Tiguan for rough running and no power. Hugo diagnosed spark plugs and ignition coils need replacing. Also found a noise fuel pump and brake issues. Diagnoses was correct but the labor quotes were extremely high. Average hourly rates are about $120/hr, book time is a half hour but his quote was $475. Nearly 4x the going rates. Hugo's total quote for spark plugs, coils and brakes was $2990 but from another mechanic I was $1655. The other mechanic eventually inspected and told me the front brakes didn't need the work done. Did the spark plugs and couls myself in a half hour including time researching the spark plug gaps and torque. Would not recommend him. read more

Hugo is awesome! I emailed the night before about my car battery problem and he got back to me bright and early the next morning. He was open about fitting me into his schedule for same day service, so we went with the agreed upon time. No promises for you guys, but he made room for me in his day. I opted for driving my car over to his place and there was zero waiting for my car to get serviced. He educated me about my car and what's going on which was really cool, as in some shops they tell you to go wait somewhere. Hugo loves cars and it shows. Tip for all services: Get service from people that love their job! Hugo is no exception. He finished my car in 15 minutes. The bill was more than reasonable. I totally understand he has to mark up my battery as there is time that he has to invest in getting it ordered and delivered. All in all, compared to the price gouging at the dealership the pricing was fine. I gave him a tip for the nice experience as well as the same day service. Go see Hugo. I called Hugo to help us with our Toyota's broken engine fuse box. We searched for a mobile mechanic and came across Hugo. He called me basically right away and said he would come by that same day to take a look at our car. He was able to fix the issue that same day and charged a very reasonable price. He even called a couple days later to make sure our car was running nicely, and it was! The Best thing about him is that he is super responsive and is available with a text or phone call. We had worked with another auto mechanic who would never answer my calls or texts and it was very frustrating. My hazard lights and turn signals stopped working. Hugo came and gave me an electrical diagnosis and intelligently narrowed the problem to 2 areas that he thought I could do myself, which I did. Gave me all the options for repair (including himself repairing it) and followed up after with a text. Very customer friendly, thorough and friendly. The only hesitation is the minimum charge of $160 which is about 25% higher than others. He is mobile however, which makes it quite convenient. read more

Hugo is a life saver. This is the second time we have contacted him. The first time the transmission when out in our truck. He quoted us a very reasonable amount but due to the pandemic the lead times were extremely long. We did not end up using him however his service and honesty we knew we would call him in the future for any other car issues. I called him yesterday thinking the starter had gone out since the car is older. He came the next day which is today and proved his honesty and integrity. It was not the starter and immediately suggested checking my battery, turned out to be my battery. While I feel other mechanics may have taken advantage, Hugo did not.
