Scammers who are not up to date with current NC requirements. They are trying to charge additional money for something not required by NC inspection regulations. Very shady business cause they want you to pay the other fees in cash.. wonder why!!! The guy who goes by sarge cause he is in charge is outdated and does not stay informed on the regulations. He stated his brother is the cop so he knows the law. The place looks just like the service you get. Empty, bleak, and unprofessional. I went 2 miles down the road and was able to get my inspection completed in in Less than 10 minutes with no issues. These guys are full of it and trying to scrape up every penny they can. read more

Okay I'm not one to do this, but I just need to make everyone aware of what happened today at Auto Inspector in Cornelius. First of all, I walked in and nobody was there so I waited. A little bit later a guy walked in, but he didn't even acknowledge that I was there. Eventually he rudely asked "what do you need?" And I told him "An auto inspection." He responded again in a rude tone "What do you need? You're going to need to speak up.", then started mocking me because of the way I was speaking. He made toddler noises, and laughed. I was instantly uncomfortable but I brought my car around. He showed his annoyance as I drove my car in the area he needed. He told me that it still wasn't where he wanted it but it's fine. Then he told me that he saw a light out. He took the light out of my car and told me to get a new one and come back. I drove to auto zone and they got me a new bulb and installed it, however the inspector guy messed something up to where I had to buy two bulbs, so I was out more money. I'm sharing this because a young woman like me, should not have to be worried that I'm going to be blatantly disrespected like I was in the store. After talking to my dad about it, he told me it was probably bc I was a girl. But why should that matter?! There is no excuse for such disrespectful behavior, and I will not be giving my business to him EVER. I wouldn't give him a dime for the treatment that I got. There are too many other places that I can receive better treatment. Whether you are female or male, don't give them any of your business! read more

The people that work there act like they're doing you a favor by inspecting your vehicle. it's usually an old cranky Caucasian guy that's there telling everyone how ignorant they are. This visit it was an older African American gentleman who couldn't have been more bothered that I had shown up right in the middle of his Jerry Springer rerun. He made me pull in the bay, asked me to flash my headlights and try my turn signals, then told me he was done. There were at least ten other safety equipment items he never even checked. Not sure the state of NC got their money's worth out of that visit. read more

What a rip off. If I could give a negative 5 review I would. First, as a retired handicap gentlemen I was told to get out of the handicap parking because my placard was on the dash and not "hanging". Second, I was told he would charge me extra for an emissions test even though my car is registered in a NC county not requiring the test. Finally, after calling me a lier when I tried to correct him and calling me many other profane names including that he would assault me I left The premise after he finally returned my car. In my sixty years I have never been treated as rudely as I have been today! After waiting for almost an hour and the tech came back in after inspecting my truck and I asked if we were good to go and he said he should have failed it, I asked why and he mumbled in which I couldn't understand and asked him to repeat himself and he said if I couldn't hear he wasn't going to repeat himself. I asked him what his problem was and he stated that we ( meaning Southerns) ought to get used to Northerners taking over! I lost it , I wanted to jump over the counter. I did cuss him and then he was playing games and when he slid my credit card under the plexiglass divider he would pull it away three times and said I have to be quicker than that. I left and he saw I was pulling out of the parking lot he blocked me with another customers truck! BY FAR THE WORST EXPERIENCE IVE EVER HAD!! read more

Employee or owner is very rude. I asked a question about diesel inspections and told him my car was diesel. I asked because at the last inspection I had done at a dealership was not correct. That offeneded him that I ask that question and told him my vehicle was diesel. Aparantly he knows how to do his job and my question was offensive. He made it a point to tell me that he was offended. I will never go here again and will tell everyone I know. read more
