Nice little old school restaurant. Come for the food but stay for the conversation. The owner is always there and prices are reasonable. Perfect place for a quick breakfast or lunch.

Best diner! Not fancy napkins and all that fluff, but the sweetest surely waitress with a singing chef that you will just adore. Find the handwritten menu hanging on the wall, and I you're lucky som come with pictures. The coffee was bottomless and the plates were full.... nobody left hungry. We will be back!

Most creative loaded Omelets in the East. Small place loads of personality the owner is hands on onsite. This makes for great service.

An unassuming exterior turns out to be a wonderful local diner! We came on a Sunday and there was a line, didn't end up waiting too long. The woman working the front was also taking orders in an exceptionally friendly and efficient way! She seemed to know many of the customers by name and maintained positivity no matter how slammed she was! Once seated, I ordered a asparagus, ham and cheese scramble and my husband went for steak and eggs. There was an option of hash browns, home fries or beans with our orders. Coffee came quickly and was hot and solid, seemed to be a medium roast, and there were creamers on the table. Our order turned around quickly. My scramble was wonderful, lots of perfectly cooked asparagus. My order came with toast (I picked rye) and hash browns. If I have any constructive feedback, it would be to brown the hash browns a little bit more. My husband LOVED his steak, said it was perfectly cooked. As I know he is hard to please, I took a bite, and it was excellent. There seemed to be all kinds of delicious menu options posted on the walls. I think (?) that these postings are the menu, which works, and provides plenty to look at while waiting. I noticed a bunch of great looking pancake, french toast and waffle options. There was also a pan of HUGE chocolate chip muffins out to cool when we arrived, which looked fantastic. It was busy, and turn around was quick, but we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. I will absolutely return. If possible, I would recommend a weekday morning for a more leisurely pace as there is a lot to take in!

This was a lucky find off the beaten track of a blessedly non-touristy area of Maine. It was a recent early Saturday morning and we were hungry. We stumbled upon Auto Mile Diner and were glad we did. When we first arrived there was only one other table filled but this small, quaint place quickly filled up very soon thereafter with what seemed like locals and regulars. The lone waitress was extremely friendly and welcoming. I ordered a swiss cheese and bacon omelette with shredded potatoes. My husband ordered an omelette with what seemed like everything in it...all kinds of meats and cheese. He ordered this with a side of home fries. Nice to have a choice between shredded potatoes or home fries. Breakfasts come with a side of toast or English muffin. Our omelettes were large, filling and very good. The coffee was delicious. Our waitperson told us that everything here is homemade. There is a menu but where you want to look is on the wall where there are colorful hand drawn breakfast menu specials. We were tempted by some fresh out of the oven triple blueberry muffins but we already had more food on our plates than we could finish. This place also serves lunch and dinner and the menu options for those meals looked good. At one point when it got quite busy, one of the kitchen staff came out and helped serve. At another point, the chef came out and was mingling with a couple of tables. At certain points there was singing coming from the kitchen in tune with the music that was playing in the background. Clearly the staff likes what they do and have a good time doing it. It was a rainy, raw Maine morning but the warm vibes in the Auto Mile Diner were just what we needed.

Palace Diner is an adorable, no-frills, just DAMN good food kind of place. It's a tiny old-school…read moretrain car with counter seating for only about 16 people. No reservations, you put your name in and wait. We waited about an hour and a half, and I can confidently say it was worth it! The menu is small with only a handful of options, but they clearly know what they do and do it WELL. I had the cheeseburger with fries (no bun), and MAN, that burger was cooked to perfection. So juicy, and the fries were perfectly golden with just the right amount of crunch. My husband got the tuna salad and made it a melt, this was actually his birthday wish, so we HAD to make the trip! He said it was one of the best tuna salads he's ever had. You know the food is good when both of us are sitting there silently eating. Both of our counter servers were so friendly and the service was great. If you're in the Kennebunkport area and have the time, Palace Diner is a MUST. Absolutely worth the wait and DEFINITELY lives up to the hype!

This is a cute diner cart with limited seats (counter only no tables)Tried to go Sunday morning but…read morewas a line outside. Returned Monday( early) and was able to sit. Very limited menu and waitress told us the 2 specials. One was omelette of the day Broccoli and Swiss (not to special) and their blueberry pancakes. Menu prices are a bit high than what you usually pay anywhere else. I got the omelette and it was pretty small looked like a burrito Tasted good and fresh. My wife got the breakfast sandwich. It was good, but was a little overpowered by the sliced jalapeños (fresh)on it Both our breakfasts came with "palace potatoes " which are a different spin on homefries. My guess is a par boiled potatoes that the smash a little then deep fry and add salt. They were good, crunchy but creamy on the inside. The coffee was ok. First cup tasted a little burnt but the refill was better. Customer service was great. Waitress was attentive, checked in after 2 bites and heated my coffee several times while I ate. The price was $48 for two people we had thought about splitting an order of pancakes or corned-beef hash($11) but it was too pricey. It was a good experience, clean restaurant, friendly people and ok food but too expensive for breakfast. Had breakfast the day before at Twin City diner. Food was just as good ( except their home fries) and a better value.
