I dropped my car off to get looked at as it had an error code had to pay for an UBER back. I called to check on it the next day and asked if they could tell me what is wrong and they said they hadn't gotten to it yet and I asked when they would get to it because I was refused an appointment and told to drop it off. They said they didn't know when they would be able to get to it and they girl at the front desk said she couldn't give me a time frame. I said I have a terminal illness and I don't have much of a time frame myself so I then asked for my car to be released to me and then had to take ANOTHER Uber back to the shop. This review is one I take no pleasure in sharing. I have used Auto Repair Unlimited for many years. I had a good relationship with the prior owner (Kelly) as well as the current owner. I have spent thousands of dollars over the years with this business having them do automotive work for me. That all changed today. I asked them to check my A/C charge on a small Toyota Corolla about two weeks ago. It was low on charge....but this was the first time the car A/C was serviced on a 2007 model. Cost a little over 100 dollars. Fast forward...A/C quit cooling again. I returned it to have them take a look. I told them it might be low on charge again "wrote on ticket suspected freon leak". The symptom was "the car would intermittently quit cooling" $1083 dollars later....they changed the evaporator core within the dash. I go to pick the car up and was informed it is still not cooling properly. I voiced my discontent about spending such a large amount of money and the car still not cooling. This is when the atmosphere and hospitality all changed. After taking the car to a different repair source.... it turns out the A/C compressor electromagnetic clutch coil is the source of the intermittent problems. They sold me a 1000 dollars worth of repairs suggesting the evaporator core was leaking while ignoring the true cause of the intermittent problems. I thought after so many years of working with this shop that they would be honest and straight forward. This was not the case. In fairness to the current owner.....he was out of town..... so the issues were from his help and daughter. Even one of the newly hired mechanics there threatened me with physical harm. I suggested to him he was not very smart multiple times for even going there with the threats. I paid the bill and left. I share my story only to hopefully prevent anyone else from a similar experience . Another note..... I had a good working relationship with the Hispanic mechanic there...I don't recall his name. He was going to continue troubleshooting the car first thing this morning. When I showed up about 8 AM..this particular mechanic was not there yet. I was was told by the rude, new, bald headed mechanic upon greeting me that I was not to set foot in the shop area "due to insurance requirements". I was standing in the same shop area a few days prior with the same mechanic and the insurance requirement was never mentioned. This requirement was not a problem for me...with one notable exception. This was the first time in over 10 years of doing business with them that they ever mentioned this requirement. Never from the prior owner or the current owner was this requirement ever communicated. I can only conclude this was only enforced this particular day after they shared their version of this event with the boss. Quote...."They said the owner said to enforce this new no-one in the shop requirement." Mechanics tend to get a bad rap because of the bad habits of a select few. I was convinced that this shop was one of the better ones who would 1. stand behind their work and 2. be honest when a job is misdiagnosed. Most of the general public will just take a mechanics suggestions and trust they are not just part changers running up the bill. After this event, I no longer trust this shop for any future work. If you are wise, you will learn from my experience and not risk the same experience. Prior owner was very good and honest....not so much any more. Final note: They had to remove my dash to replace the evaporator core....they damaged the small eyeglass compartment door during the dash removal. The door fell on the floor when I drove away....they tried to cover it up by gluing it and never mentioned it was damaged....another example of their dishonesty. Buyer beware. read more

These guys are good. Several years ago I started going to them with my daughter's' VW and they always get the job done right and charge a reasonable price each time. Recently I brought in my MB and again they got the job done right and charged me a price I can at least live with. Such a blessing to have honest and qualified mechanics who can confidently work on foreign cars in our area!!! Thanks guys!!! read more

Although the receptionist is very knowledgeable, the mechanics seem to be lazy. I dropped my car off before the shop opened, expecting it to be ready by closing time. They didn't even touch my my car. I had to leave town the day following so I left my car there for a few days. The time before this I took my car in and they never could figure out how to fix it.
