5 stars for friendliness and service! So far, 5 stars also for the tint work itself, but it's brand new so far. I believe it will last though. I recently bought a car from Carmax and due to some issues with missing and warped tint, they agreed to reimburse me to redo the tint. After getting quick quotes from a couple of places, I decided to go with this place thanks to Alvaro's helpful and friendly demeaner. He showed me a few cars sitting at the business with different percentage tints so I could see how things like lighter interior makes it seem brighter for the same tint on a darker interior car. I dropped it off the next morning and it was ready by mid-afternoon. The tint looks great so far, and he told me that if any bubbles or marks show after 2 weeks, to bring it back and he would get it fixed. I am happy to have some quality tint on my car that will help keep some of the intense Florida heat out. From my experience so far, I would highly recommend you check them out. Oh, and their lobby area is pretty neat with some old fancy cars in there to check out. That was a nice surprise for the car nerd in me. read more

I brought my vehicle here after moving to Florida. My front windows were not tinted and the heat was beating me up. I asked for the front Windows to be tinted and for the windshield to get a strip across the front to reduce glare. I also got a full detail on my car. They did a good job on the tint and the detail. Only complaints are that the tint doesn't exactly match my back windows (they were factory a few years ago) but they got pretty close so it's ok, not perfect. And the parking lot was so tiny and there was a lot of stuff going on so was stressful trying to get parked yo go inside etc. I would recommend this business though. read more

I went in with my 370z to have a radio installed. Came out great look and sound wise, I did have to come back twice to have them fix an electrical issue with my climate control cluster. It was something extremely simple nothing hard. The owner made up for my extra trips (coming from Orlando to Tampa). I give them 5 stars because they fixed the mistake and compensated me very well for my troubles. I paid $268.25 for the shop staff to install a backup camera in my car. When I picked the car up, I noticed that where they had installed the camera they had damaged the paint. It looks like the installer's screwdriver slipped and ripped the paint. (Pics attached). As soon as I saw it at the shop I went to the manager and told him but he immediately said we didn't do it, it came like that. I told that was not true and to speak with the person that had completed the install and ask but he refused to do so. He said well I can give you a auto detail. Granted, this shop also serves as a body shop. There were other related scratches that were received in the same incident. I did not accept the auto detail of course because that is not what I wanted out of my complaint. I understand that people make mistakes but not owning up to them is of poor taste. My car remains damaged and I will NEVER refer anyone to this facility and if anything, will continue to post my experience so others do not go through the same situation read more

They did a great job washing and detailing our car at a fair price! They are very detail oriented and I would recommend them.

Would not recommend for electrical, audio work. A year after they worked on my truck I have spent hundreds and hours of time,repairing and redoing the mess they made. Took three times as long and did a terrible job. Follow up, the radio and amp they installed were broken from the beginning. The amp is running on half a channel and half the buttons on the radio don't work. The wires are burnt, they "replaced". I am assuming they used broken or old equipment during the install.... good for a detail. Outside of that, stay away. read more

Auto Safe & Sound on Hillsborough is NOW a terrible place to go. DO NOT USE THEM. I have been a customer for 25yrs..I have had over 10 cars tinted here and always refereed people. But today, Al(the owner) canceled the 2nd apt in a row on my step son car...did not give him a call. So I decided to go in and talk to him and he started yelling at us...said he did not need customers like my step son and would not calm down...We just wanted to reschedule...I understand shit happens with employees.. but he should not yell at customers that want to do business with him...I honestly thought he was crazy today.. I had to ask him why he was yelling at us and he keep yelling. Very Disappointing experience. We will be going to Leo's Touch Window Tint in Drew Park... The guys at Auto Safe & Sound have tinted all of the windows on my last two vehicles. They did a fantastic job with both my Acura and my Nissan and the prices are very fair. The quality of their work is above the standard of most shops, so that contributes to my decision to continue returning to these guys. All of the aforementioned points, including their satisfying customer service is why I am writing this review. Just yesterday I noticed that the tint on the passenger side of my vehicle had started to crease a little bit. Mind you, this is about five years since the tint was originally applied. I knew they guaranteed their work but I wasn't sure for how long. I went in to the shop yesterday, worried that I may have to come out of pocket for the repair, as I did not have my warranty paperwork handy. The gentleman helping me eased my worries and said, "No problem at all, let's go inside and schedule an appointment to get this fixed." Their schedule was pretty flexible, as was mine, so I returned this morning at our scheduled appointment time and they took care of it with no questions asked. While I waited I was able to use their in-store WiFi and relax as they re-tinted the passenger window. I met with Al and he was well versed about his product knowledge, he explained to me that due to multiple sensors my car would take a certain type of tint. In 2007, at the recommendation of Lokey Nissan in Clearwater, I took my truck in to Safe and Sound to have automatic door locks (actuators) installed. From the day I had the actuators installed, the locks wouldn't lock properly. I took the truck back immediately and had the issue addressed with the manager, Alvaro L. The fix lasted for about a year. Fast forward to Jan. 31, 2015 (and 200 miles away) and I decided to install a dash cam. The actuators have since lost power altogether. The driver-side door locks only with a key, and passenger-side door doesn't lock at all (no key on this side). In order to not have the dash cam stolen, I decided to take the doors apart and permanently fix the locks myself. After taking the interior door panels of, I was surprised (or not) to see that the lock assemblies had been cut/modified, the actuators not mounted level, the actuator rods and parts modified, and the lock tension cables out of place or broken. Their fix was to hold everything temporarily in place using cable ties. I learned more about vehicle locking systems in one day. I also learned that I should have done this myself long ago and reclaimed the $430 I spent on this gig. In fact, I still have the receipt! Hopefully this place has changed their ways by now. I'm not a person that tends to write reviews, but they earned it! When I brought my car for an audio trouble shoot, I insinuated that I might have to replace most it. I made the wrong to go to a flea market to install my original audio installation. Whenever the technician looked at it, he noticed that there were a few tweeks that needed to be done. In addition, when he inspected the installation from the previous "technician" he noticed there were wiring that melted!!!! The technician offered to rearrange some of my audio set up without any extra charges. I only got charged for replacing the wiring. He could have easily charged me for the labor or even require me to buy new audio hardware. TJ and Eduardo saved me a lot of $$$ by discovering the melted wire. Definitely a fire hazard! Overall, the customer service, honesty, and nice waiting area set up (plus free wifi!!) made me feel like a valued customer! I will be a repeat customer for sure. Highly recommended!! read more

I came here to get my 2012 Acura TSX tinted. I called in the morning and Al told me to bring the car right over and he got it in pretty quickly. It required a little more work than usual to get the rear tinted, and Al was very up front and honest about my options. After the tint they washed my car and actually rewashed it after the detailed decided it wasn't good enough. All-in-all this is a great place and I will recommend them to anyone who needs work done on their car. read more

Had an excellent experience at Auto Safe & Sound. Got the driver and passenger front windows tinted plus added a glare strip to the windshield. All in all I think it cost me somewhere around $80-$85 including tax. Work was done very professionally and quickly. Waiting area was clean and satisfactory. I was unfamiliar with exactly what a glare strip was when I got there, and the man who put my tint on took me outside and showed me an example of one on another car that he had just done and went through all the details with me. As a detail-oriented person, I found that extremely helpful. Cost was very reasonable. I already plan to bring my husband's car back here and have recommended the place to friends. read more

The next time around when I purchased a new vehicle, I decided to go back. The moment you have to return for correction (lifetime warranty), things are different. They did a great job with my 2013 Hyundai Sonata. I did the basic tint and got a basic wash. The only reason I am rating 3 stars because of the pricing. I was quoted $163 over email for the tint and on the website it states that the hand wash is $7.95. I was charged $19.99 for a wash when on the site there is no package for that price. Also, when they called to tell me my car was finished, I was told the final price was $192. I arrived to pick up my car and the total was $197. I didn't say much because I was busy listening to the guy quote someone with a similar car a way lower tint price! Shame they would take advantage of a 19 year old girls wallet. read more
