Auto Smog center really helped me out yesterday. I was in a time crunch situation needing to get my car smogged less than an hour before the DMV closed. They got it done in less than 15 minutes and got the report sent over to the DMV immediately so I was able to finish my registration that day. They were super friendly, and the location is right on the other side of the fence next to the DMV. Price was fair and comparable to other locations I have seen around town. April 25th at 1PM I drove into the back entrance found parking. went to the Greek chicken place near by got a sandwich and went back to the Smog check center lobby, had my lunch and as soon as I was done the man there that day name Louis. He had everything ready. The pricing was fair unlike many of the other smog places I called. 49.75 was the charge. Not a finger print was left on my car and the seat was where I left it. I wonder why this type of business went up all over San Diego. Used to be 25.99 Other than these days everything is so high priced its understandable. oh the entry to get to the back, look for the long flags. read more

Would not smog my 2016 all stock Duramax diesel Gmc truck. After 20 Minutes of doing the check. Said it's missing an o2 censor that clearly states on the diagram is not installed of these trucks. Thankfully didn't charge me just said I don't want to deal with it. Truck has smog he's fine for it's entire life. Not recommending to take a diesel to this shop!!! read more

I called ahead and ask how much was it.? They gave me an answer without any BS. I didn't need an appointment and I walked in the lady at the front greeted me and checked me in. 20 minutes later the guy came with my keys and I was off to the DMV to get my Tags. Go elsewhere. It is very convenient because it is right next door to DMV, but there are much better places to go. I made an appointment at 8am since my appointment at DMV was at 9am. I am always early and showed up at 7:50am. No surprise that the doors were still closed. It was 8am and nothing. The smog check employee didn't show up and open the doors until 8:17am. I never got an apology. I was also quoted $49.99 on the phone to include the certificate AND smog, but was charged $59.99. There are several other smog check stations in this area. Pass this one and drive the extra mile to another. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I have had my three autos smog checked here for many years - BUT NOT ANYMORE. Went today and was told my van was "to much trouble" and took him too long to do. TO MUCH TROUBLE to do what your business does? Lost my 3 autos and anyone elses I can spread the word to!! People just do not want to work these days it seems - to bad. read more

my first experiance here was a "as expected" experiance which is why I gave the second star. I unfortunatly did not pass smog and only paid a fraction of the price and was told I only had to pay the difference for the retest which was less than $20.00. I went back less than two months later after all my repairs were done. I was greated and asked to wait in the waiting area. This waiting area was freezing cold. front door open, back door open, garage door open with air blowing, freezing. forty-five minutes later I see my car being put in the garage. The guy says ok your smog will be $44.99 today. I asked why so expensive when I did my initial smog there he said there was an additional $10.00 charge for not coming in within 30 days of the first smog. when I asked why, he seriously said "thats the way the boss wants it". this was a charge i was not made aware of at the first smog. When I asked him about paying the difference he said I had to pay the full price again. I reluctantly paid the man and waited another half hour. once it was done the guy says "you passed your smog but I could have failed you becaue of your gas cap". I was already upset and yes I gave him attitude but I was not rude. I said thank you and left happy that i passed, pissed that I had to pay so much and wait so long in that freezing waiting room. i do not recommend them because there are so many other options available. read more
