To put it simply: They do it fast and efficiently, and extremely easily. I arrive 1:30, let my car undergo the smog test. I'm handed the clipboard to fill out the information. I have taken multiple company vehicles to this place because of the large bays. Previously the charge was $50.00 to Smog our Nissan High top vans. The Smog technician came out and asked if I knew how much this service was. I smiled and said" no". He proceeded to laugh and giggle the entire time after he demanded $100.00 american for a smog check. I thought to myself I have never paid anything near this amount for this service. I allowed the service to be performed, paid him, and left. I asked to see the receipt for the last service we had them do when I got back to the shop and YEP! DOUBLE what we paid last time. The tester was very customer oriented, when he saw me drive in, he immediately comes to greet me, not many auto shop worker would come out to greet you. He's very neat and pays attention to detail, you can tell especially the way he stapled my papers all nicely together unlike other auto shops usually gives back your paper half crinkled.. I like that I didn't have to stay in my car to perform the test as I've had to do at previous smog test places. I paid $40 total in cash and it took around 10 minutes. Not bad! So the dmv mailed and told me I needed a smog check. I called in this place after two other places failed me and was surprised to hear the guy on the other end tell me to come in there is no line. I get there within 5 minutes only to find another car pulling in real quick. The person who answered my call comes out quickly to ask if I was the one who called and apologizes immediately for the other customer who beat me here saying there wasn't anyone earlier when I called but he showed up since then. I told him it's alright , and he then proceeded to let me know it will only be 5 minutes. I sat down and less than 5 minutes later he was already done with the other customer and had me rolling. The other place I called said the smog check would take around 45 minutes to complete so I was taken by surprise when he came out 10 minutes later to let me know I passed my smog check! These guys rock!!! Needed a smog check really bad. Actually got pulled over twice because tags were expired and saw that this was near school. The guy working there I think his name was Tuan asked how I heard about them I told him yelp and he just smiled. Really nice guy, got to work on my car right away. Honestly took about 20mins total (if that) from the time we talked to the time I was out of there. Waiting area is small but cozy with a TV and heater. He mentioned that they were only a couple of month old. I guess it was taken over by a new owner. The best thing was the price. $40 total the last place I took my car to smog charged me $67. I made an appointment the few days before and they finished my smog check in less than 5 minutes! I was basically in and out in about 10 minutes because I had to wait for one customer who was ahead of me. I highly recommend getting your smog check here! Also bring cash so you don't have to pay the $1 fee credit card fee. Total cost was $40. Also you can check online if you smog check got sent to the DMV also. My 1999 GS 300 needed a smog-check-test-only center. I had read the other ratings and thought it was a decent place. Also, its just a street away from de Anza college and Monta Vista and the post office, so it was really convenient. I called in in the morning and left a message. I got a call back within 10 minutes and I asked for a pricing. They were able to price match me, so that made me happy. =) I was able to get an appointment immediately. The tester, Mr. Hai, was very nice. He came out to greet me and even asked if I wanted a soda! There was also water available in the waiting room. The waiting room was loud, but you can close the door to the testing area [I left it open because I was curious about how they test]. Mr. Hai was very thorough and even noticed things not related to the smog test! He noticed that my tail-light-sensor thing was on. He was kind enough to refer me to someone that did tail-light fixing. I couldn't be happier with the service. =) read more

I found Auto Smog Test Only on Yelp. Based on the positive reviews, I decided to call them. The gentleman that answered quoted me a price of $40 for my 1999 Ford and gave me the option to make an appointment. $40 was less than the $50 I had paid for my last 3 smog tests so I made an appointment for two days later. Auto Smog Test is located on a quiet street in Cupertino near the Cupertino Post Office. The proprietor of the shop was courteous and efficient. I arrived for my appointment at 2pm and was on my way 10 minutes later with a completed smog test. I would definitely recommend this place for its reasonable price, quiet location, quick turnaround, courteous customer service, and comfortable waiting room. There are two main things that matter for a smog check review: time and cost. This shop took less than ten minutes to get my car in and out, and cost $10-$20 less than competitors in the area. Boom, five stars! There is a $1 service fee for using a debit/credit card so if you're super-DUPER cheap, make sure you bring cash. I was happy to save $20 so I didn't mind the extra dollar. The man and woman who work there (married couple) were very nice and didn't steal my spare change (I test mechanics with that temptation), but that's all secondary concerns. The guy greeted me and said that he could do the test right away. Asked me if it was the first time and how I found them. We noticed that in addition to smog checks the guy also does repairs. We had a leaking water pump in our VW GTi. He replaced the water pump and the timing belt for a reasonable price. He works on repairs in between smog checks. He kept us updated on his progress. As long as you have a little patience and you are not in a hurry, you will be very satisfied.
