On word of mouth I was told to go see Steve Nappi at Auto-Spa Customs in Mesa. My drivers seat is 14 years old and the leather was ripped up and the foam bolster was deteriorating with the help of our hot summer sun. In one 8 hour day Steve was able to match exactly the two tone leather seat colors to look like it just come out of Ford Motor Company factory. I definitely recommend Auto Spa Upholstery! Steve was extremely helpful, responsive, and professional. I originally contacted him through the yelp page asking for a quote about a torn leather seat I had on the driver's side of my mustang. He was very responsive and when I sent a few pictures he was able to quote me lower than any other business I contacted. I arranged a time to bring my car in and when I got there in person we inspected the car. There was slightly more damage than what could be seen in the original photos I had sent, so the price increased a little, but was still below any other place I talked to. Steve was very friendly and professional. He took my keys and told me to expect to hear from him by mid afternoon, he would try and finish the job the same day! I got a phone call from him in the afternoon and was able to pay over the phone and pick my car up with my spare key later that evenning when it was convenient for me. The entire experience was great. Quick, easy, and at a fair price. The work was amazing. The seat is in great shape, you would never know it wasnt original! It looks and feels very nice. I had to have a section of my back seat replaced due to a tear. Because of the perforated seats a patch wasn't possible. The stitching they did to replace the section was incredible. I would highly recommend this place if you need some upholstery needs for your car. read more

My 2006 Cadillac front passenger seat (power seat) was stuck, and would not move. Unfortunately, it was stuck as far forward as it would go, leaving very little leg space between the front edge of the seat and the dash. There was no room for an adult to ride in the passenger seat. The dealer said "they could not get the parts - the car was too old." My mechanic said he "doesn't do seats." But, he did recommend two businesses that did auto upholstery. And, he wanted to prepare me for the cost IF a new power seat motor and track could be found. (estimate: over half of the total value of my car!!) I was going to just forget it, but husband wanted it fixed (I guess he didn't want to ride in the back seat when I was driving). I called the first number given to me by my mechanic. They "only do auto upholstery." Then, I called the second number - Auto Spa. Steve (super nice guy) told me to bring it in so that he could look at it. I asked him if he could just move the seat back a bit and leave it in that position (I really didn't care about the motor - I just needed the seat moved back). Well, Steve made a quick phone call to somewhere in Texas, ordered me a motor and track (for a VERY reasonable price), and a few days later the parts arrived. Steve fixed the power seat (motor and track), and it works beautifully (like new). Husband is happy. I am thrilled. Thanks, Steve!! read more

My mechanic recommended this place for a sunroof repair for my F150. They charged me $175 for an estimate I had no idea the estimate would be this much since the dealership charged $80. His estimate gave two prices one "$500-700" fix he didn't know if it would last and $2000 to fully fix. The dealership quoted $1800 to repair. Took it to Sunroof Doctor and got a free estimate and full fix for $450. I called and asked for a $95 refund for a portion of the estimate explaining that I was not told the estimate would be that high and it didn't seem fair relative to the dealership and Sun Doctor estimate. He proceeded to yell at me asking me what I did for a living and stated he would only refund me if I came in with my husband and sat down with him to discuss. read more

Took my 2008 Saturn Sky Redline in because my convertible top wouldn't close properly. Steve took his time checking it out, and suggested I bring in back to investigate. Took it in a few days later at 8AM and was done mid-afternoon.Took his time explaining what he did and the repair works well. Only problem was he did not offer an estimate first and just gave me the bill. I suppose the price was fair but I didn't care for the fact I wasn't told prior to the work. I am extremely disappointed in the quality of service and the poor customer service from Steve at his establishment in Mesa. I paid $1,000 to get my Lexus IS 250 two front seats reupholstered and I wish I never even touched them. They looked better before than they do now. After a month I had to go back and have him fix the seats because they weren't done properly at all. They weren't even reupholstered, he used a cheap dye that just rubbed off. And now the same thing is happening again!! I would never recommend anyone to go here. I wish I could go back in time and never did this. Big mistake. Huge mistake on my part. read more

While aircraft interiors are not Steve's typical focus he was more than willing to work with me to understand the unique requirement for aircraft upholstery and to modernize the design of the interior. He spent time searching for vendors that provide FAA approved materials and worked with me to validate that typical automotive leather and carpet will also meet the FAA requirements. Once the materials were selected and verified compliant to FAA requirements his team refurbished the seats, side panels, and carpeting to achieve my vision. DO NOT do business here! I have a SUV that needed some work done on the headlliner in the back and some carpet work. I do not have a lot of free time, but drove all the way across town to get an estimate. The person who looked at my SUV even took pictures to give to the manager. The manager later called me after viewing the pictures and talking to his employee. We negotiated a price and time for the work to be done. I rescheduled my meetings and coordinated to have someone come take me to work after I dropped off the SUV. When I got there the manger came out and looked at my truck. He said he wasn't comfortable with the price he quoted me over the phone. He wanted to do the work and then would give me the price he'd want me to pay when he was done! I explained how much time I've already wasted driving down for a quote and then driving back for this appointment. I even offered for him to look into his concerns on price and if he didn't want to do the work I would go somewhere else. He wanted me to pay for him to look at my truck, even if he didn't do the work! I'm very disappointed and I gave him several opportunties to make the situation right. Beware of the bait and switch if taking your verhicle here for work. I rarely write reviews, but wanted to ensure anyone doing business here was aware of these tactics before investing too much time or money. read more

I highly recommend Auto Spa Upholstery!!!! My 2002 Yukon front seats and headliner were in terrible condition and I wanted the seats reupholstered and the headliner replaced, so like most folks, I got a few estimates including one from Steve at Auto Spa. They were not the highest nor the lowest, they were about in the meddle. What impressed me was that Steve ensured me that my Yukon was to be kept inside (that meant a lot to me, others said it was to be kept outside unsecured) while the work was being done, he also gave me a tour of the place and showed me work that was complete on other vehicles and work being done, all looked great!! Steve gave me a fair price and a 3 day turnaround on what I wanted done. The turnaround was only 2 days (awesome)! The work they did,, was/is excellent. Auto Spa made my car interior look brand new again! The inside of my doors were falling apart, it looked terrible. The interior (leather) had pealed off due to the glue becoming unsticky from the heat. Steve was so nice and checked out the problem and gave me a quote without charging me to inspect the problem first. (Some places do that). He even explained what he would do to fix them, what he would have to use etc. That made me more comfortable with deciding on this company to fix my doors. The price was very reasonable. He was even flexible with my work hours and stayed late just so I could pick up my car that night and I wouldn't have to wait until they opened the next day.
