Knowledgeable and personable staff. I've taken my Audi to Tom and Jeremy now for four years. Highly recommended.

BUT, let me tell you, if you have a transmission problem, this is where you want to go. I'm fairly skeptical about any businesses, especially automotive repair, but C&S does what they say. My husband's 2000 GMC Sierra needed a transmission rebuild. They quoted us a price, letting us know that it COULD cost more depending on what they found and told us it would be ready on Friday. I figured I'd hear from them the following Tuesday, if I was lucky, and expected an inflated price. To my surprise, Friday came and I got a phone call telling me our truck was finished and the cost was exactly as quoted. We picked the truck up and went on our merry way. Over the weekend we noticed an issue with our acceleration and Monday my husband stopped by C&S. They were apologetic about the issue, took the truck back into the shop, and 3 days later called us to pick it up. NO additional cost to us for the 2nd repair. The truck is running great, no issues and C&S charged us less than the other 2 bids I had gotten from others in town. They stand by their work, fix the problem and are very gracious if an issue arises. I would use them again in heartbeat and would not hesitate to send my Mom or my Son into them for Transmission repair.

The tow truck operator made a couple of recommendations for where I could get my transmission repaired. After talking with him, a bit, I had my Van towed to C&S Transmissions. To make this story not too long, C&S repaired / rebuilt my transmission. I was offered a range of repairs, and, and selected the "just get it done, its an old vehicle option". Since I live in California, and C&S is in Oregon, I had a few phone conversions with them. When they finished the repairs, they told me that there were "electrical" and other problems that should be corrected before I returned to Oregon to drive my Van home. They recommended O'Brien's Truck Repair. (Please read my positive review of O'Brien's). Picked up Van from O'Brien's, and drove it home. Have close to 1,000 miles on it since the repair. Transmission is working just fine. Thank you C&S Transmissions. And thank you, O'Brien's Truck Repair. And, as an aside, bad luck having the transmission fail. And very very good luck finding two good repair shops. I

I noticed that this place took down my review which is pretty shady of them. So here is my review…read moreagain on what happened. First off, this place will create a problem with your vehicle. My vehicle had a starter that went out and what this place did was CUT MY WIRES that would have caused an engine fire or even worse. This happened when I was in the hospital in the ER fighting for my life and my hubby brought our van into the place to get repaired. The place didnt just mess up the replacement of the starter but damaged something in the area that the starter is suppose to go to which ended up having to get ANOTHER starter plus the repair for the damage that they created. COSTLY for something that they did. Once I finally was allowed to leave the hospital I couldnt drive and unfortunately was in and out of the hospital for the next 2 years. During that time my hubby and I noticed that the van was having some weird stuff going on with the functioning of the van. We couldnt afford to outright have the van get a full exam but a professional mechanic offered to take a look to help us out. Once that professional mechanic came and took a look at the van he was not only surprised by what he found but told us that we were very lucky that we didnt have a engine fire or even an accident because the van was actually an accident waiting to happen. The mechanic did the repairs and assured us the car was now safe to drive. He did explain to us that there was absolutely no way that what was cut was an accident but was obviously done on purpose. I called up the repair shop and told them what we found out and honestly was pretty ticked off how they were willing to create a issue to a customer's car just to get more money and how careless they were on someone else's wellbeing on safety. We have children and I would have been devastated if any of my family was injured or worse. Of course, the repair shop tried to downplay what they did and denied what they did. I placed a review shortly after the whole situation was discussed. The place wanted to discuss things again and wanted me to remove my review which I never did. Just didnt want the shady lies that place tried to convince me of and wanted to warn other future possible customers of the dangerous stunt that they did to me about my van. Several years later I noticed that they place removed my review, so I restated what happened and looks like they removed it again. Yep I AM RESTATING WHAT HAPPENED AGAIN IN A REVIEW. This place is dangerous for anyone's safety. Seriously avoid this place. I have a relative that went to this place out of desperation and they got screwed over as well. Their car should have never even been there but after they got their car repaired, they started to have other issues which created a safety problem to their car too. Luckily another mechanic fixed the safety issue and even had to replace the issue from the repair too. I don't know who is ok to allow these very dangerous actions to continue at their business but it can and most likely will end up getting sued if anyone is injured or unalive from the place trying to create problems for money.

Again, today, they went above and beyond for me. Simple…read moreand relatively inexpensive repair done. Then they took my card $ and DELIVERED MY CAR because I needed it for tomorrow (July 4) but couldn't get there.

FRAUD UPDATE - we finally spoke to the company who rebuilt our "new" transmission, only to find out…read morethat the transmission currently in our car is our original transmission, which was fine, and apparently this issue was electrical. Matt never communicated this to us, but instead told us he'd put two different transmissions in our car, the 1st had issues but the 2nd was fine. this is 100% untrue - the gentleman who sold the rebuilt transmission to Matt has never been paid and we paid for a new transmission which was never installed. We are trying to get our money back, but Matt is very difficult to get ahold of. We will be filing a complaint with the Police today for fraud. original post - Absolutely horrible experience here. Brought my Honda Odyssey in for a new transmission end of May - had my car for nearly three months, returned it after about 2 months and the first transmission Matt installed was faulty, another transmission and another month later, finally got the car. Now we've had it less than a month and the transmission and drive light are on and Matt is saying he no longer does Hondas. Matt rarely returns calls, is defensive and by no means honored the 4,500 we paid by completing the work in a timely way AND now we have a vehicle that still doesn't work and he is making no effort whatsoever to rectify the situation. DO NOT GO HERE. everyone said he's the guy in town to go to but we've had the worst experience ever and now we have a car that still doesn't work two transmissions later.

I was told it will wear in. Took the car back immediately and told him to fix it. Matt (the owner) tried arguing with me and that didn't work. I am a car nut and have replaced many clutches and did not want to do this job as I am now getting older. Then after two weeks being in the shop he did fix the clutch so it works smoothly. But now it would not go into first gear without grinding, so then it spent another two weeks in his shop. He argued that he could not fix it and he did nothing wrong. The last time I went to pick up the car though Matt was very agitated at us for bringing it back 3 times to fix gear grinding. This time I wanted him to test drive it with me in the car. He left parking lot, slamming the gears, over revving the engine, squealing tires out of his shop. He was yelling at me on how to drive a stick shift. He treated me like I didn't know how to drive this car even though I've owned it for 42 years. It did not grind gears when we took it in AND now it does explain that! So took the car home and fixed it myself. His 12 month guarantee is useless.
