I stopped into AutoZone recently and had a great experience. The staff was friendly, patient, and really knew what they were talking about. I came in needing help with a battery issue and instead of just trying to sell me something, they took the time to test the battery, explain what was going on, and walk me through my options. They even helped install what I needed right there in the lot -- no hassle, no pressure, just good service. The store was organized, easy to move around in, and they actually had the parts I needed in stock, which is always a plus. I left feeling taken care of and confident in what I purchased. While driving to work earlier today I went to use my washer fluid and wiper blades to clean off my windshield and all of a sudden my wiper blade broke! Seriously, metal flew off and all I heard was a terrible noise as the wiper still tried to clean my window. Wow-that just happened. Anyways, after work I decided to stop in Auto Zone to get new ones. When I walked in Patrick greeted me immediately and asked how he could help. I told him about my wiper blades and he knew how to help. He walked out to my car with me and took off the old ones. He then went back inside and looked up the items needed and brought them up to the counter. He was working so quickly, I couldn't keep up! Before checking out I grabbed a car smell good and then met him at the counter to pay. Patrick offered me a loyalty card and explained how it worked. Of course I wanted it. I paid for my items and then he walked back out to my car and put the new blades on my car! I didn't get a chance to walk around the store so I don't know much about the selection, but the store was big and seemed to have a lot of items. I did look at all of the smell goods and they had a bunch of good ones-I'll go back for some of those! All AutoZones sell the same things; the difference is all about the people working there. At this particular AutoZone, the employees seem to prioritize dealing with customers below pretty much everything else. Tidying light bulb displays? More important than dealing with customers. Clanking around in the back? Ahead of customers. Staring at a screen and clicking around? Much more important. I don't need my butt kissed, but more often than not here, I find myself standing and waiting, watching two or more employees doing something else, while *nobody* mans the counter. More than once, I've given up and gone somewhere else. Maybe there are some excellent people who work here and who aren't like this at all; but they've never been on duty when I've attempted to do business here over the course of several years. The location is convenient for me, or I wouldn't bother trying this place at all -- plus I hold out hope that the staff or management might some day turn over to some people who care just a little bit. read more

I stopped in after work on Tuesday, 2 January 2018 during that bitter cold snap we had. I had been having issues with my vehicle starting but since all my lights and electronics came on with no issue, I didn't think it was the battery. I got a jump from a friend at work and drove to this AutoZone on my way home. I stood in line, since there were so many folks buying batteries, and mentioned that I was having trouble starting my car, explained my issues and mentioned that I didn't think it was my battery but I was not sure. The guy behind the counter, who was a stocky guy, asked if my check engine light was on, to which I replied it was not and he said there was nothing they could do, and blew me off. So I left the store only to find out my car was once again dead, so I went inside again and stood in line to buy a battery. I got a different guy, a heavyset guy, at this juncture and wasn't the friendliest either. I mean, when your job is customer service, you gotta at least try. He looked into the system and told me they didn't have any more for my vehicle. What he did NOT do was look to see if any other stores around them had one in stock. At this point I wish I had gotten their names, but I was a bit disgruntled myself, so I asked for a jump. The guy let me know they did not do that....let me repeat, AutoZone does not do that, which I find odd because the AutoZone's I have visited in VA and TN do exactly that....plus they have a ton of batteries available. The guy did not offer to test my battery or anything, but as I was walking away he asked if I had jumper cables to which I replied, yes. So he called another gentleman (notice how I described him, he is the only reason this location gets one stars) and asked him if he would mind giving me a jump. This is where I hope the management at AutoZone is reading, Joe I found out his name as he introduced himself is an older gentleman, with short, gray/silver hair, thin build and dare I say the epitome of customer service. he pulled his car over, gave me the jump as was asked of him by the guy inside. Joe then asked me if I wanted to have my battery tested, and asked me to shut off my vehicle to perform the diagnostics after which he told me that while I had a full charge, I had a dead cell that was not allowing the power to crank. So, he gave me another jump and directions to the nearest AutoZone (good thinking Joe!), but then he told me to hold on and apparently looked up the locations nearby that had the battery I needed. He gave me the phone number of the one that did with the part/stock number of the battery. This is where the management of this AutoZone should give recognition where it is due, Joe is your guy. If I could, I would give Joe 5-stars. Put him behind the counter, let him run a shift, I don't care but get the two guys that worked the counter on 2 Jan 18 and teach them how to be personable, put them outside on those cold nights, put them around Joe...maybe his personality will rub off on them. read more

Nice location to my home. The manager with the long hair has a major attitude every time I am visiting this location. It's noticeable even when just shopping and listening to him talk negative about customers and directly to them while they are asking for help. He seems to act like you are an annoyance over anything else. I've even noticed this is how to talks to his employees...I feel bad for them. It's rather sad to watch. read more

Awful customer service, at least at this location. I went there a few months ago looking for a tail light assembly for my ford ranger. An extremely common part for an extremely common vehicle. Here's the gist of the conversation: Me: hi, I need a tail light assembly for a 2011 ford ranger. Employee: (looks up part) we don't have it. Me: you don't have it at all? E: we don't have it. M: I called a week ago and asked if you had it and the other guy said you did... E: we don't have it. M: well, can you get one? E: we'd have to special order it. M: well can we do that? E: it's out of stock. Look, see? (He turns the computer towards me. At this point, his tone of voice is extremely rude and annoyed) M: so there's no way I can get this part from you guys? E: we can special order it M: but you just said it's out of stock... E: look, you asked if we had one in stock, it's out of stock. See? (Points to the computer again) It became obvious to me at that point that this employee could've easily helped me get the part I needed, he just didn't want to. And this all happened regardless of the fact that I never asked if he had one currently in stock, I just told him I needed one. I could've waited for the special order to ship, he just didn't want to do his job. So O'Reilly Auto Parts got my money that day, and I will not go in to this particular AutoZone if I can help it. I don't need some snot-nosed 22 year old treating me like an idiot because he's too lazy or pissed off to place a special order, which is HIS JOB. read more

I got above-and-beyond customer service both via phone and then live in-store from Amanda today regarding a dead car battery that wasn't even from AutoZone to start with. Thanks again to Amanda, and to AutoZone as a company in that (1) you can expect warrantied service at any of their locations no matter which location you originally purchased from; and (2) they post their district managers name on the door in the event you feel a particular location did not fulfill your expectations...that says to me they do care about keeping their customers satisfied. A BIG DIFFERENCE FROM ADVANCED AUTO PARTS! - Whose stores are not all "linked" such that if you have a warrantied item from one location, another location has no responsibility to you; who "changed computer systems" thus supposedly/conveniently losing warranty info as recent as 1-2 years old; and whose national "customer service" line isn't even open on Sat afternoon. ADVANCE AUTO PARTS SUCKS, AND THEY DON'T CARE - GO WITH THE ZONE! read more
