One star is too much. This place seems to never be able to get your car in, always over charges and lies. My husband was just there for them to look at something super simple and tell him how much it would cost, sat up there for almost 2 hours for them to come back and tell him that it was going to be way more than we thought it would be (bc someone had already gave us an idea of what it should be). The guy, Austin, said our car had something that was causing the cost to be high and for my husband to "look it up". Well my husband looked it up and the car in fact did NOT have that and what it did have would make the job super simple. (Replacing a lugnut). Austin literally said he had just looked at the car and was so confident about the lie he came out to tell. This shop blatantly lies, takes forever and seems to only be helpful to certain people. Zero stars. We have had other incidents of them taking so long and being more expensive than other places, it is just pretty close to our house so it's convenient, but I can now guarantee we will never try it again. read more

The store called her at 4:15pm, asking if she had picked up the car. She didn't. The car is gone. It was stolen. She is starting to take legal action as we speak, and will be contacting the local news. they aren't giving her any answers, and are acting like they don't know what is going on. Highly recommend nobody ever uses this location. **Update: The car was mistakenly taken by tow truck. It was not stolen. Another car was supposed to be picked up. Car will be returned, but this does not excuse the lack of competence that was displayed, as the car was in their possession at the time. I have been a frequent user of this Firestone in the last 2 years. Most recently I purchased new tires from them. After finding a lower price for similar tires at Costco, they agreed to install for the same price. I also enrolled in the alignment for life program (as long as you get 2 alignments, the program pays for itself). I went another time to see if I needed a new headlight, or new wires. The guy at the front came out to look at the car and gave us some advice even though he was not the technician. These guys are always really nice. read more

I've dealt with other Firestone shops and decided to use this location to honor a warranty on tires I had purchased in the past. The "manager" Eric, was extremely rude and incompetent. He refused to honor the warranty and would not replace my tire without purchasing 3 additional tires. He misunderstood the warranty or outright lied to me about my tires not being able to be prorated off of the tread on the tire. He was rude on the phone and hung up on me when I refused to accept his lies. I decided to take my car to a different Firestone, who honored my warranty and prorated the tires. Eric at the Loughborough location cannot be trusted and was obviously trying to get me to pay more to get more commission for himself. Avoid this location at all costs. The workers also did not make sure customers in the store were taken care of. We had to wait over 10 minutes while 4-5 employees were either on their phone or conversing with each other with customers waiting on them. This location is a joke and should be shut down. They're good for oil changes and lite work. That said I got my brake caliper replaced here and while they seem to have done that, however they didn't put one of the mounting bolts back in which let my caliper slide around loosely on the disc. That in turn ripped the wiring harness from the electronic parking brake and made the e-brake fall off entirely. I got this confirmed my another shop. I should have know from the knocking I was hearing, when I drove home that day. I had to leave town for awhile and my mom drove the car for months while I was away and she's oblivious to that sort of thing, so it got real bad. All said it went from an 1,100 or so repair to a 2000+ dollar issue. Partially our fault for not taking it back sooner, but getting the job done right in the first place is on the shop. Look, I'm an understanding guy. We're human, we don't always show up for work with our A-game, but things like this can be a huge deal and we have to be better. It's been so long since that repair that I assumed a refund or whatever isn't on the table. I'm just not going to Firestone anymore. Do yourself a favor and find a local shop. This is my go to shop. I've never had a bad experience, I've actually found this location to be the best one so far. Everyone always explains every step to me and they are up front. The service person in charge of my car, Amy, was so amazing and walked me through my repairs every step of the way. She made sure i was ok with the repair time and understood all of the cost. She even applied the coupon before I even asked about it, and updated me on diagnostic findings so I could track cost. read more

8 June 2021 Came in with a tire issue... a vibration that wasn't going away. I bought an alignment package. After an hour they returned my vehicle with the alignment done, attributing that to my tire wear, but they completely missed the tread separation that had started. The vibration was still there and luckily a different tire store just over the river in Illinois recognized it and advised I replace that tire immediately to prevent a blowout. That technician was shocked it was missed (at the previous location). To add insult to this oversight... they tried to "suggest" I get some "scheduled maintenance totaling $427. Every bit of their suggested maintenance was recently done (air filters, fuel system cleaner, coolant, brake fluid). They clearly didn't check, or even ask. The guy I spoke with was polite and professional, but to later find out I had a tire about to blow was very frustrating news. Trying to sell me unnecessary add ons though... kills my trust. I went elsewhere to have my alignment checked... and am unlikely to ever return to this store. read more

Please don't give Firestone your business. I dropped off my 2001 Ford Excursion to get the hub bearings replaced. Long story short, they charged me nearly $1500 for the job, which I gladly paid. I thought it was odd when I got the truck back and the wheel bearing noise was still there. I drove it around for a few weeks and the noise got worse and worse. Eventually, I crawled under the truck to investigate the noise to find out that the job was never done! I would attach pictures here if I could. You would be able to see the inside bearing seals are hanging/broken just as they were when I originally dropped it off and the hub assemblies were absolutely NOT new. I was told at the Firestone location that the inside bearing seals were "new" and that they just "failed that way" in the last few weeks. Odd how parts can age 20 years and fail exactly the same way they did before. I have a LOT more evidence/photos if anyone is interested. Just reach out to me and I'll gladly share them. I went back to the store and had to address it with the management that the job wasn't done and showed them all the evidence they needed. Management denied that the job wasn't done, and I understand that. No matter what, they can't admit that they charged a customer for a job that wasn't done. I just wanted my money back. They wouldn't issue a refund but would "make the repairs under warranty". A two-day repair under "warranty". The job was never done in the first place. Firestone corporate has no interest in hearing my story, so I thought I'd put it out to the public. It's hard to find a trustworthy, reputable mechanic. I thought I found one in the Firestone brand. Stopped by Firestone to see about a slow leak in my tire. Made an appt and the guy told me to pull around and they would air up my tire. Waited at least 5 minutes while 3 men talked inside the bay, one finally came over and said "well if no one else will do it then I guess I will" and filled up my tire. Told me something about the ring of death and that I needed a new tire. "99% sure of it" he said. Day of appt I was running a few minutes late so I called Firestone, someone answered the phone but was apparently talking to someone else. I repeated myself 3 times. He was talking to someone in the store, kept saying "yeah, uh-huh" so I would repeat myself but he wasn't listening. I decided I was done with the rude and disrespectful employees at Firestone so I skipped my appt and drove to this nearby body shop that I love to get a recommendation. They sent me to Phil's tire shop on Broadway who found a nail in my tire, fixed in in 20 minutes for 20 bucks and assured me I did not need a new tire, mine was perfectly safe. I was recommended to this location by a male friend of mine. I came in with a screw in one of my tires. They told me my tire was irreprable and had to be replaced. But that I needed at least 3 new tires. 4 would be better but I needed at least 3. When I expressed that I didn't want to purchase 3 whole new tires because of one screw the crew member said he'd have me on my way then. I waited another 30 minutes. I walked out of the store with a $2,000 quote, an hour of my time wasted, and a screw still in my tire. Oh! And I went to a competitor's store the next day and they repaired what they said was "the tiniest hole" in my tire. Free of charge. And I was done in under 5 minutes. My male friend had come in to this same location a few months prior to this with the same problem. They fixed him up with a new tire and he was on his way. No issues whatsoever. But when I, being a female, walked into this store they tried to fix everything except my tire. I understand that I look younger than I am. But it shouldn't matter. I shouldn't be targeted because of my gender or age. Very disappointing. I feel bad for any other girl that walks in there. I was nearby for the day and dropped the car off for an alignment and new tires. I added an oil change, since they said it would take 2 hours to align and replace tires, and would have the car for 3 hours. The car had been sideswiped and a wheel was out of alignment, and had been severely damaged. That was the main reason I took my car to Firestone. I wanted to select the tires while I was there but they assured me that they would call me soon to discuss which tires to install. It took 2 1/2 hours just to receive the call, and when they did, they told me I had a bad tire, which was what I had told them when I dropped the car off. It would be like going to McDonalds and ordering a big mac, then having them come out after 5 minutes and saying, "we have Big Mac's, would you like to try one." Some type of communication problem seemed to exist between the crew members and I was frustrated. I just walked back and paid for the oil change and left. I ended up taking the car to another tire service company and got the service I expected from Firestone. read more

As a woman who admittedly doesn't know much more than the basics about my automobile's interior, I'm always a little hesitant to walk in to a car place of any kind alone for fear that flags will go up and a sign will be posted on my forehead: "Doesn't know anything about cars: Can easily be taken advantage of." Lucky for me, there are the guys at Firestone. This was actually my second trip to the Loughborough location. I blew out a tire last year and went in for a replacement and an oil change. Brandon, the store manager, walked me through my tire options, giving the pluses and minuses of each model. I appreciated his matter of factness and no pressure tactics of explaining each one to me. So when I walked in yesterday for an overall tire replacement, I was immediately relieved to see Brandon behind the counter again. I had recently had a pretty scary near-accident with a friend when I realized the tread on my front tires was pretty bad and should probably be replaced sooner than later for peace of mind. He walked outside with me and checked the tread on each of my tires. I was originally planning to replace the remaining three tires since I couldn't remember when they had last been put on. He said the front ones looked pretty bad, but that I still had a lot of tread on the other rear tire and it had quite a bit of life left in it. I appreciated his honesty (and the ability to save that $$$) when he easily could have made me believe otherwise. And because of his honesty, when I came to pick my car up and he told me that my battery tested at half the power it should, I felt like I could trust him. He again, in no way applied pressure for me to replace it, and I liked that. They didn't have the battery I needed in stock, but I asked them if they could order one in for me and they will be replacing it for me on Monday. Overall, it seems like the guys here do fair and honest work and I wouldn't hesitate to send any of my friends here. I am glad to have found reliable auto care so close to my home! read more

Monday the smell was so bad I couldn't drive unless my windows were down. Took my car back, apparently the tech spilled oil everywhere, didn't bother cleaning it up. After pricing around to every tire store in the area (Sam's Club included), I spoke with someone at Firestone who was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I was in need of four new tires and an alignment. They recommended a tire that was comparable to what I was looking at (but cheaper) and honored a competitor's sale price on the alignment. They convinced me to do the lifetime alignment instead of the one time and still honored the sale discount. Everyone was extremely nice and with the credit account, I don't have to pay these tires off for (just under) six months! read more

Matt Hohenstein is the horrible manager of Firestone 2310 Olive (near downtown St. Louis). The staff including the supposed manager, are very UNprofessional,inept, unapologetic & offer no conversation to make a win win situation for my 10+ years patronizing this company. They wasted my time let my car sit @ the shop for 6 hours, I dropped my car off @noon & the old guy on oxygen assured me "we'll definitely get to your car tires checked out & plugged & ready by 4 pm. I arrived at 5:34 pm the guy on oxygen says" miss we've been backed up all day".Then he says "we cant find your tire key & we've been calling you all day". I check my cell. Skeptical I checked my cell & sure enough @ 5:22 & 5:31 p.m. were the times Firestone called me. NO SIR you have not called me all day, I showed him on my phone the # with times visible. He's a sad Liar! Then the old guy snarls smartly "well we've been calling you & you didn't answer." I said that's because I was on my way walking to this Firestone to pick up my vehicle that was suppose to be ready @ 4p.m. what is going on & why is my vehicle not ready & what is the problem? Old guy snaps loudly "we cant find your tire key, where do you keep it?" I said I came to this Firestone Oct. 2018 & Nov. 2018 & purchased 2 tires each time & Firestone put the tires on. Therefore, you all/(Firestone) lost my tire key & now you want to act like I hid it somewhere or forgot to give it to you earlier or I lost the key. I said you all are full of bull! Find my key lock sir & repair my tires as per the warranty that Firestone offers with tire purchases this is ridiculous. I asked for the manager, of course he was not in this day. I got the Manager (Hohenstein) direct # , asked if they would put air in my tires so I can leave & take my car to Volkswagen. Next day I dropped my car @ Volkswagen & called Firestone's Manager he agreed to reimburse me for all tire repairs & new tire locks & key for my 2011 VW Tiguan. That was 30 days ago. I called informed Hohenstein I will bring him the receipt. I arrived @ Firestone & Hohenstein was gone for the day. Next time I arrive @ Firestone, Hohenstein was not in yet & I left my name for a call back. NOTHING. Last time I called Hohenstein, I was told he was with a customer. When he called back he said "I'll need to call VW to verify these charges then Ill call U back. I called him back in 2 days I was told Hohenstein was out for a family emergency. My husband took our car in to get an emissions/inspection done on our 2013 vehicle. When he got there he told them that that's what he was there for. The man behind the counter said, "what do you mean? You don't need an inspection on a 2013." Well that's fine and all but no need to be a complete jack ass. If I could post a review with zero stars I would. Mid January I had a dashboard light come on in my car that said "service battery charging system ". I brought it into Firestone and they said it wasn't the alternator or battery but that it was an electrical issue. They recommended I have it towed to the dealer to check out. I had it towed to the dealer from Firestone and the dealer couldn't start the car. They diagnosed it and said the alternator and battery needed to be replaced. So it was the complete opposite diagnosis of fire stone. When I spoke to the store manager she said that her service technician is not as knowledgeable as she thought he was. He should have been able to diagnose it correctly. I asked if they would reimburse me for what they charged me and the cost that I had to put into it because of their negligence. She said her manager said that Firestone wouldn't reimburse any of that. She promised me multiple calls back from her manager but I never heard from him. I have since called customer service/corporate with the promise that somebody would call me back. Nobody from corporate has called me back yet after eight calls in a month. The fact that nobody calls back from corporate is appalling. This is been the worst experience and I've spent so much time because of their negligence to diagnose my problem correctly. read more

I broke down yesterday and had to get my car towed to firestone and before I took it there I asked the lady on the phone if my car would be in there grauge overnight, she said yes as long as i got it there by 7pm it would be moved into there locked grauge and they would look at it first thing in the morning. Well I called a few times today to check on it and they said they didnt get to it yet then about 5pm the lady called and said uhh we have a problem your car was broke into lastnight and they busted your window and popped my ignition out so they cant move the car to fix it and there not responsible for the damage!!!! I left my vehicle in there care and this is what happened!!! Trying to do the right thing and put it in shop and this is what happens.. Before I left the shop I asked again if they were sure my car would be pulled in the grauge and they said oh yes of course!!! But they left it on the lot instead. read more

He literally stopped, asked if I needed help, and I said yes- as I felt I was absolutely was in crisis, because my husband was so far away. Brandon immediately put my spare on, and followed me to the local gas station, and filled the spare's pressure up to appropriate amount (I didn't know it was low & didn't have money on me). I'm new to the area and asked where he recommended me to go for help. He recommended my local Firestone, Fairview Heights, IL and EVEN called to help me get my information in their system. When my husband showed up, we wanted to pay Brandon for all his help, but he wouldn't take any money. I was in a crisis & he saved me. Then the next morning, Fairview Heights treated me with the utmost respect and gave Outstanding customer service. I was really impressed with the whole experience from beginning to end. However, it was evening, and she didn't have copies of my estimate printouts and tech notes in front of her, so she said she'd get them and call me back the next day so we could go over them in detail.
