Most honest shop I've EVER been to. Dave was able to diagnose my car over the phone and was correct in his assessment. When i brought my car in he asked for a print out of my service history. In looking through it he discovered the part that needed repairing had been previously repaired under a recall in 2009. He called Audi of America to see if it was still covered, which it was and told me to go to the dealership to have it fixed for free. Now THAT is honest, customer service. He did fix other issues with my car and i've been extremely happy with the outcome. I have had horrid experiences at Reeves Audi Service and Autohaus, so I was so thrilled to find such an honest, reasonably priced German shop. All of my co-workers are now changing to Autobahn because of hearing how fantastic they are. read more

I've used this place for several maintenance and repairs, usually for my Mini, but when looking for a place to get our Honda repaired, found another review about Honda maintenance, so decided to give them a shot on this, as well. Our Honda had a strange noise that we got all kinds of differing opinions on. But at Autobahn they quickly identified the actual cause, then had to look around to find parts (10 year old car) and got it taken care of in an acceptable amount of time. They even called me on the day after Thanksgiving, when they're normally closed, because the owner remembered I needed the car back by Saturday. Repairs are good, cost is reasonable (always cheapest to get it done right, once) and service is excellent. A seemingly rare place where you can trust that what the mechanic says. They advertise mainly service on German makes, but also handle Mini Cooper and apparently Honda. read more

Original manager DAVE screwed us over..said I had a problem with brake booster pump...leaking oil. New manager noticed same leak ..said it was some sort of vacuum leak...Spent a 1000.00 dollars ...less than a month later..check engine light came on...low and behold...SAME ISSUE....finally gave in and took it to a dealer..where it was correctly fixed for 850.00....Then called auto bahn..and they just shrugged their shoulders and then advised me to take it to the dealer?!?!Needless to say we will never go back there DO NOT GO THERE...you have been warned. read more

Autobahn Automotive offers German vehicle repair for BMW, Audi, VW Volkswagen, Mercedes Benz, and Porsche for reasonable prices and does quick work from my experiences there. Autobahn automotive car repair shop is located close to my work offices off Anderson north of hillsborough and south of waters, so I take my BMW 335i over during my lunch hour for some quick fixes occasionally. I've had them diagnose and fix an issue with a faulty air bag warning that another shop couldn't fix. I also had them clear a check engine warning and brake repair warning. They have the top of the line $3000 BMW scan tools that can read and reset all the codes just like the stealership / dealership but at a fraction of the cost. A lot of shops don't have the scan tools and these guys do, so that's great. They're open 8am to 530PM Monday to Friday and not open Saturday or Sunday unfortunately. The staff was very friends knowledgeable and courteous. Parking available on site in a private lot. Autobahn has several mechanics on staff and several lifts. I called Autohaus originally but they only have one mechanic and you need to schedule them a week in advance which is too far in advance for me. Autobahn is definitely not a small time operation like the original Autohaus next door. Thanks guys! :) read more

Dave is awesome! He drew diagrams and had print outs of the parts I needed. He explained in detail what was wrong with my Camry and how that was causing the sounds I heard. He spent all day diagnosing the car and charged me nothing. He explained the pricing and was even up front that these parts were about dealer price due to the rarity of them. The labor rates are amazing and yet they provide much better one on one service than the dealer does. I'm a mechanic's daughter so I know how hard it is to find an honest one. DO NOT GO THERE. Dave that everyone loves on this page is no longer there since like may of 2014. There is a new punk kid who is going to rip you off for good. Spend more than 1000 on a fix engine light. And when it came on again, went to another mechanic and fixed it for 300 and less. Brakes that they fixed the same day SQUEKS (supposed to be premium) and AC still hisses after their supposed recharge. I have been using Autobahn for the past several years-ever since the warranty was up on my Audi. They have always been very professional, gotten my car back to me as quickly as possible and have stood behind their work. The first time I brought my car in there was an extended warranty in effect and my service man worked with the warranty company to make sure the problem was solved to my advantage. While he was repairing the initial problem, he found a problem that I had been telling Reeves Audi about for about a year and they had told me that there wasn't a problem. It was a very expensive repair but because David found it and presented it to the warranty company, it was covered and since that time the problem that I had been telling Audi about was solved. (I was having to add oil between oil changes every 5,000 miles). I have told several of my friends and my son about Autobahn and everyone has been satisfied with the service provided. I'm giving these guys 5 stars because based on the reviews others have left, I'm sure they're pretty good. However, I will share my experience as it may help someone else who was in my particular situation. I don't live in Tampa, and I have never personally had service completed by Autobahn. I did, however, have them do a PPI (pre-purchase inspection) of a vehicle I was going to buy sight unseen. I would not recommend you use them for a PPI - at least if it's an Audi A4 1.8T. To their credit they did list a few items such as the installation of a catch can (which I knew), engine codes, brake fluid, valve cover gasket, and some leaky coolant hoses - normal wear and tear items for a 10 year old car. So based on their assessment I went ahead and purchased the vehicle. When I took possession of the vehicle and popped open the hood, I stood aghast. I've worked on 2.7T Audi S4 engines before, so I don't have a TON of experience with a 1.8T but even to my untrained eye the engine bay was a complete and utter cluster. The stock PCV system had been rerouted in a baffling way. The coil packs were incorrect for the model. The original brake boost vacuum line (hard plastic) had been replaced with a radiator hose that was connected to the intake manifold - so under braking the hose was collapsing and affecting braking performance (which they attributed to requiring a brake fluid flush - wrong). The entire secondary air system had been removed. The first injector sleeve on the intake manifold was covered in carbon due to a broken plastic injector sleeve, there was no rain tray, there was no belly pan, and the windshield appeared to have been replaced by someone using warped glass. Additionally the AC compressor is leaking oil and was noticed within minutes at my alignment shop (yes...alignment shop noticed this). I don't hold them accountable for any of the things I've had to deal with - it was my decision to ultimately buy the car - but I can honestly say it was a waste of $90 to have them do an inspection. If you need a pre-purchase inspection done you are better off finding a dealership or a mechanic who is intimately familiar with your particular vehicle. read more

I wish that all service maintenance and repair companiens operated like Autobahn Automotive. I have used them several times over the past three years and have always found them to be Honest, Knowledgeable and trustworthy. They have the capabilities to quickly identify a problem and then relate their assessment to me in a way that I can understand it. When appropriate, they have provided me with alternate solutions and explain the pros and cons of each solution that I very much appreciate. I would recommend Autohahn to anyone in need of repairs for their BMW (I have 2001 525). As my car continues to get older I am sure I will have to visit their shop again.
