I picked up our vehicle tonight and the entire process was painless. I shopped no less than 8 dealers before going to Autobasics. It was refreshing to find a dealership that was upfront and to the point about every single charge. I told them the payment I was looking for and they were able to get me an interest rate that was almost half of anyone else. I was impressed. The interest rate allowed me to get the vehicle we wanted. I feel the price was very competitive with the other area dealers as well. Gary was great to deal with and Marek was a treasure to deal with. He understood what I wanted and made it happen. Not only that but I had been looking for a credit union to deal with and they made that happen with the financing of this vehicle. I had been to other dealers and got tired of the run around and being mislead about the terms. I made an appointment for test drive then buy a car today. I drove 3 hours for this appointment. When I got there, they showed me a car that wasn't even in a drivable condition. A big chunk was missing of the side wall of one of the front tires. The car was extremely dirty and beaten up. That was false advertising. I don't even understand why they made an appointment for this car. But clearly they don't care about people's time and money. I am very disappointed. read more

In 73 years of doing business deals, dealing with this group was the absolute worst experience I have ever had. If you read all of the 1star reviews, roll them into one and you have a good picture of my experience. It really is hard to believe that these people are still in business. Short story, after several communications , the last being a phone call with "Scotty", they were aware that I was going to purchase a vehicle as soon as I could fit in driving over 200 miles to get there. I offered a deposit on more than one occasion, to two different people. "Not necessary". The day after the final phone call, I received a text (no balls for a phone call) letting me know that it was sold. "Sorry" they said. In my follow up calls to them I was told, basically, tough luck, you knew it was first one who showed up with $$$. I was lied to repeatedly about the events leading up to this debacle and that it was somehow my fault or my mistake. This company has ZERO INTEGRITY. STAY AWAY. RUN, DON'T WALK. Ideally, a negative! Damir's hard inquiry on my credit, confirmation of financing with my bank, and approval helped me buy the truck. However, just as I was about leave to sign the paperwork and pick up the truck, Joe the Manager called to say they had sold the truck. And "Damir" didn't place a sold" on the vehicle. Bullsh**, he shouldn't have given a verbal confirmation or solidified my information with taxes, gap insurance and other fees. Overall terrible customer service, no answer to the issue, they're prepared to make false promises. Zero customer service! The general manager (Scottie Manson) is a total jerk! I feel sorry for the sales people that work there, because I will never set foot in there again. Short story: Scottie was mad that my son and I turned down a car we had looked at there (after taking it to our mechanic) therefore when we came back to see another car on the lot he refused to allow us to take it to our mechanic. We could not test drive it because of repairs that were being done and we were told that even though we expressed an interest in purchasing, the only way we could secure it not being sold was to just purchase it (without a test drive). It was sold within hours of us looking after being told we would be contacted once the repairs were done so we could test drive it. No bueno!! read more

This turned out to be a shady dealer, full of lies, and poor customer service. I view and test drove a 2012 GMC Arcadia, I told the salesman Sean Lee I liked the vehicle and want to buy it, Sean told me that the vehicle still needed to go through their mechanical inspection and that once done he would call me later that day so I can come back to do paperwork and take it home, well Sean never called back, and when I inquired about the vehicle the next day he came up with a bull crap story about one of his co-workers brought the vehicle before it went to inspection, Stay away if you don't want to waste your time. read more

Although I did not end up purchasing a vehicle from auto basics (nothing concerning business) ; I highly recommend using this business for your car finding needs. You may not find the vehicle that you are looking for at the end of the day however, they have two locations, a great selection, and an extremely honest, knowledgeable, HONEST staff. Ronny and their finance officer were amazing to deal with. Knew their stuff, willing to work out a deal, very open with our options and did not run us around with unrealistic deals/cars. I'm in the marketing industry and they were perfect in regards to doing their job to sell product/brand but also not being too pushy, and when I called to give them the unfortunate news, Ronny was so understanding and still had out standing customer service. They were nice but way overpriced. Not going to help with getting a good deal on a vehicle. Ended up getting a brand new 2018 Chevy Silverado for only $5,000 more than their used one I looked at. The car I looked at came from auction and smelled liked a smokers car even though they denied it. Unwilling to budge or negotiate on price (glad I went with a new vehicle for only slightly more). Their 5 star reviews are also biased, as they offer a free yeti cooler to a random reviewer. The main reason I even went here was due to the good reviews which turned out to be biased. read more

OG, one of the salesman took my ID to make a copy, so I could test drive a vehicle. After not getting the car he became upset with me, so I left. I noticed I never got my ID back a few days later and he denied that he took my ID. I know for a fact that he has my ID and when I called he was very rude and nonchalant. read more

Missed the mark on being different than other vehicle dealers. The Auto Basics website talks about being different than other dealers and they truly are not, and they are actually worse than most in some ways. They have some really nice vehicles and some not so nice, so as always, it is buyer beware and know what you are buying. My problem is the response when asked if they charge a dealer fee. The answer was yes, $699 on top of the price, and THE STATE MAKES THEM CHARGE IT and everyone has to charge it...come on, really? When pushed that is not true, the response was if we charge one customer, we have to charge all. I cannot find anywhere in the Florida statues that they have to charge the fee. They may have decided to charge the fee and then somewhere in Florida law that I cannot find it may say if they charge the fee they have to charge everyone, but charging the fee is the way they do business to make more money off of consumers. Not all dealers charge a fee, so they need to stop making excuses, stand by their decision to charge the fee, and STOP LYING TO CONSUMERS. They try to justify their prices by telling what 'retail' is for the cars rather than price them based on their competitors. If you check out competitors you will see their have so-so pricing. And by the way, check out the Department of State business licensing - Auto Basics is related to Tillman Auto on Beach Blvd, Main St, and New Kings Rd, so same cars on a different lot. Perhaps those who think the dealership is such a premier one did not do their homework, look closer at what competitors have to offer, or ask the right probing questions before they bought a vehicle from Auto Basics. read more
