I really wanted to love this dealership--after all, I purchased my "beauty" from here. After months of searching online, I finally found her--the exact car I'd been wanting, in the perfect exterior and interior colors. The moment my husband and I pulled onto the lot, I told the salesperson I only wanted to test drive that one vehicle. No other car. I provided my driver's license to them and we were off to test drive around Sykesville for about 30 minutes. Perfect experience so far. I fell in love immediately. When we returned, I told the salesperson we were ready to buy. There were a few minor issues with the vehicle, but they were covered under the 30-day warranty, so I wasn't too concerned. Here's where things shifted a bit. I paid cash for the vehicle--no financing involved. Despite this, they didn't offer any discount, not even $100 or $200. That surprised me. I understand times are different now and margins are tighter, but it still left a bit of a sour taste. Especially considering I wrote a check for the full asking price, including taxes, title, registration, and all fees. Also worth noting: I referred a coworker's boyfriend to this dealership before I even bought my "beauty". He purchased a car from them a week or two prior to my purchase. Yet, there was no referral bonus!! Again, not a dealbreaker--but something I feel should be mentioned. Another detail to be mindful of: Maryland caps the dealer processing fee at $800. They charged $785, which is legal--but they also charge tax on that amount. So while it looks like $785 on paper, it ends up being more like $832. Just something to be aware of when budgeting your finances. To be fair, the dealership did address the minor issues I mentioned earlier within the 30 day warranty, and I appreciate that. But I do feel those problems should've been resolved before listing the vehicle for sale or offering it for a test drive. All in all, would I buy another vehicle from them? Maybe, possibly. They have solid inventory and are locally owned, which I like. But I can't ignore that I was a cash buyer who referred another customer--and I didn't feel like that was valued. A small gesture would have gone a long way. Even just a modest discount or a thank-you referral credit might have made me a long-term, loyal customer. Just something to consider if you're planning to buy from here. Great cars, but I wish the overall customer service had matched the quality of the inventory. read more

Purchased a 2017 Jeep Patriot a couple weeks ago from AutoDot and I am now reminded why I should never buy a car from a dealership again. I will start with the positives here. The staff is friendly and their prices are reasonable (before you find out what is actually wrong with the cars). The cars are washed before you test drive them and they give you half an hour to do whatever you would like with the car in order to test drive it however you would like. When I went to test drive the Jeep I immediately noticed something with the alignment was off and the car pulled pretty hard to the right if I took my hands off the steering wheel. There were a few other minor things that I did not pay any mind to because I knew I was purchasing a used vehicle, and it was not going to be perfect. I brought the car back after test driving it and explained the alignment issue to the salesperson who said that the alignment was just completed on the car and there should be no issues with it. Having just driven the car, I knew exactly what I felt when driving it so I was not going to let this go, and so he had another person from the dealership test drive it to get a "second opinion". Whoever this guy was claimed that he did not feel anything when he was driving it either, which was clearly either a way to cover up whatever they were aware was going on with the car, or he was simply lying (probably both). I figured it would just be a cheap fix with a quick alignment anyway so I decided to buy the car and get an alignment myself. Boy was I wrong. Fast forward to a couple weeks later when I had some free time to get the car looked at, I was quoted for a $700 repair because both front control arm bushings are completely shot, which requires extensive labor and is something that would have been extremely difficult to identify by the average person on a test drive. It gets even better. There is even more concerning problem with the car pulling to the right when driving on a straight road. I was told that the alignment of the vehicle was not the issue as the front subframe needed repair which was causing the car to pull to the right. As you can imagine, subframe repair is upwards of $1500+ at a dealership to fix, and this is really not something I wanted to deal with during the holidays. I am looking forward to hearing what type of nonsense excuse they try to come up with to justify the issues with my car, and they sure as shit will not be getting my business again. read more

Very happy with our experience at AutoDot. We purchased a 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe this past Saturday and I have to say it was probably one of the best experiences that we have ever had purchasing a car. Both my husband and I are not big fans of wheeling and dealing. To be quite honest, where some people may love buying cars, however for us it's very stressful. AutoDot takes the stress right out of the situation. Everyone from Oz the owner, Allessandra who processed our paperwork to those who detailed our vehicle (one young man in particular that (my apologies) but I can't remember his name) were just delightful! I bought a 2012 Mazda 3 from AutoDot in May 2021, and wanted some experience with the car before reviewing. Five months and 5,000 miles in, I give AutoDot five stars. Although I am a shade-tree mechanic, I didn't look forward to dealing with a used-car salesperson. Modern cars are complex, there's a lot that the seller can hide or overlook. In my case, owner Oz Ozcam and my sales guy (Mike Friese) were open and transparent. I got a good feeling about the integrity of this outfit, and was willing to pay at the KBB guideline for that (AutoDot is no-haggle). Be sure the car comes with everything you expect (like a spare key, floor mats) -- you *can* ask for missing items. A week after purchase, an electric-window switch went out, AutoDot drop-shipped me the part... for an As-Is sale, they didn't have to do that, appreciated. Since then, the car has performed well. I continue to recommend AutoDot to people who don't know a lot about cars, and are looking for a 5-10 year old model that's mechanically sound, at a fair price. Used cars being used cars, some reviewers are bound to be unhappy... but take this as one customer's thumbs-up. read more
