I bought some 2 types of incense from them, frankincense & myrrh. Classic fragrances, we've had from other vendor's. We've been burning incense for decades, just put it on a hot coal. With both aromas of incense there is almost no aroma, just smoke. I called to complain and was told we were not burning the incense correctly and there was nothing they could do since we opened the box. How do you test incense without burning some? I ordered a crucifix on the weekend after Thanksgiving. I received it the weekend after Christmas. The item was not as expected. I called customer service and was told there was nothing they could do. It was a drop ship item and the only option was to ship back to the vendor at my expense. The agent I spoke with told me that other people who purchase the item are happy with it, implying I should be too? The product that Autom ships is good, no complaints there. The one star review comes from the fact that two days after I made my purchase, there was an "After Christmas Sale". If I would have waited two days, I could have saved $23.67. When I called to question if I could get the discount - I was told that Autom doesn't offer a price match/ or price guarantee. The only way to get the discount is to ship back my already purchased order, and replace the order with the discount code. I chose a few items online and was given a price as "grand total", including shipping, that I approved. I saved a screen shot of it. I immediately received an email with a different price than I approved -- about $15 higher. So I emailed Autom asking for a refund of the overcharge. They didn't respond. I called the next day, and they said they are adding an additional "container/freight surcharge" that doesn't appear anywhere on the final screen that I approved as the "grand total" to be charged. It turns out that in the *second note* that is under all the "shipping information" (which is the second to last page during checkout) it says, "Effective 11/1/2021 a 10% container/freight surcharge will be added to the order at the time of shipping." And they expect their customers to both find this note and understand that it means they'll actually be charged 10% more than what they approve as the "grand total" on the last page. The supervisor of customer service admitted many people have missed this information (not a surprise). So I asked her to please refund the additional amount. She refused. So I asked to cancel the order, and she agreed. But, just to be sure, I asked whether the refund would include the shipping charges as well ($25 plus the $15 "surcharge")....and she said no! Even though I ordered on a Sunday and emailed about the problem immediately, she said it was already shipped, and I would have to absorb that cost. I told her that was unethical and unacceptable, and asked to speak to someone higher up in authority. She refused and claimed there is no one further up at Autom that I could talk with. Only after I pressed the issue did she finally agree to refund my entire purchase price including shipping. This will be the last time I order anything from Autom -- particularly because I found the exact same albs at another website for the same price and ended up paying $32 less for shipping. Decent selection and prices are hit or miss, definitely some good deals but not everything is wholesale price. Customer service isn't great. The worst thing by far, though, is they sell Monastery Icons which are evil. I told them they need to stop selling these, as even priests would say they should be burned if you own them, and the store employee seemed to know about the reputation but was dismissive about asking management to remove them from the shelves. If you are Catholic and looking for anything from a bible to a statue of the saint of your choice this is the place to come. My mother is a devout catholic and hosts a Rosary to St Jude every year. It makes her happy, and I'm happy to help her in any way I can. This store was amazing and had a lot of the things we have had a hard time finding in the valley during previous years. DO NOT USE AUTOM! Due to Covid-19, our confirmation ceremony was up in the air. When I finally knew when it would be I had to make a last minute order on the items to be shipped and ordered them. I paid the 24.99 for 2-day delivery and ordered on June 3. I received a voice message early evening of June 4 to confirm my order. I was unable to speak to a representative until the morning of June 5. I confirmed the order and was told that I would receive the order on Wednesday, June 10. I told the representative that I was flying out for the confirmation ceremony early morning June 10 and that I had paid the extra money for 2 day shipping (which technically I should have received them that day since I ordered early morning June 3). She confirmed that I had in fact paid the extra money and that I would have my package no later than June 9. Definitely more than 2 days! At 2:38 a.m. on June 9 I received notification that my package had finally left the shipping facility and would arrive on June 11. At 9 a.m. I called and spoke to a representative from Autom. She told me that there was nothing she could do because the package had already been shipped. When I told her that I had paid extra for the 2-day shipping she told me that I hadn't because it was being shipped to a PO Box and that wasn't eligible for 2-day shipping. I told her about my phone call from June 5 and that was not expressed to me and that I was told I would receive it no later than June 9. I told her that I needed her to send the same package to a residence in Montana so I could have the items for our confirmation ceremony. She said I would have to reorder the same items and pay over $40 for 1-day shipping and then, after I returned from Montana I could ship the other package back to them and they would refund me for the ITEMS ONLY and not for any shipping. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that the supervisor would tell me the same thing and that I wouldn't be able to speak to a supervisor. I told her how disgusted and sad I was that this, a Catholic company, had such terrible customer service and would do nothing to help me with a problem they caused. She said she was sorry but that was their policy. I confirmed with her that I would pay for the items again, plus pay $40 for 1-day shipping and then, after I returned from my trip I would send the package back to them (after paying another shipping fee) and I would only be reimbursed for the items that I had ordered. (Basically 24.99, 40.00 and whatever shipping would cost to send back...maybe 10.00 for a total of approximately $75). She said that was correct and that I wouldn't receive any reimbursement for any shipping fees. She was unwilling to do anything to help me and only repeated the insincere, "I'm sorry." As someone who has worked in customer service for decades, I was at a loss. I will NEVER use this company again and would highly recommend that you do not either. I will send this package back to them and cut my losses at approximately $34.99. read more

And it's been 3 business days since I placed the order and it still hasn't left the warehouse. Called customer service and the agent said the shipping rates were contracted with UPS and now FedEx. That sounds untruthful. There is no way that UPS or FedEx charges that much for shipping a package weighing less than a pound. How about trying flat rate shipping from USPS and getting real rates from UPS or FedEx. Not to mention a lot of retailers and wholesale companies now offer free shipping. Fine don't offer free shipping, but do not charge shipping based on the cost of the merchandise. You'd earn a lot more business from those outside of Pheonix if your shipping rates were reasonable. read more
