The worst of the worst. They are not to be believed for one second. Even if the repair is listed in the we owe section of your contract; they will back out and try to lie to you about it, hoping you don't catch them in the lie. When they unwind the deal or cancel the contract, they lie about the refund process as well. They're petty and drag their feet on fixing their mistake. They focus on high risk customers and bank on the desperation for approval. They overprice their vehicles by thousands of dollars - verified by a little research to retail comparisons online from other dealers. THOUSANDS... 7 or 8 on certain vehicles they know catch the customer's eye. Don't call them out on it either because all they say is: I can't do nothing about no price.... exact verbiage from the manager that handles the refunding process. Lots of finger pointing because it's always someone else's job or someone's fault. They state they'll call you but you literally have to beg them and be in their face for a response on an actual issue. They forget how to call you back when it involves them giving you money back, but they sure are quick and easy to get a response from up until you swipe your card. They hope you don't know your buyer's rights... I highly suggest you take your time in front of their cameras (because they do record you signing the documents) and READ EVERY LINE of your contract and make sure any repairs they promised are listed in the we owe section. DO NOT ACCEPT DELIVERY of this vehicle if they did not do what they were supposed to do. DO NOT DRIVE OFF THE LOT. You will never see your money back and you will be stuck with a vehicle that is double the retail price and no way out of the contract. Last but not least, they stick extra fees into the contract for insurance in the amount of $112 every 2 weeks in addition to a $54 payment processing fees per payment to use THEIR car app to pay. That is over $300 dollars a month ON TOP of the actual car payment. So if you do the math - @ 30 months... that's an extra $9,360! Some of this information is hidden in there, you will look over it. They will not provide any answers if you ask them about this probably because they don't have any, they were just hoping you didn't notice!!! They are predatory and will take advantage of you. To make it all worse, their "official" BBB web profile isn't accurate. They have 4 or 5 different profiles but only one that is official and states BBB accredited WITH an A+ rating, but when you go to make a complaint against them, it directs the complaint to Dollar rental cars. An entirely different company. It's rigged and full of lies just like their dealership (all of them under MEI auto - Mi Gente, Autotrader, Truckmax, etc....) It's now been nearly three weeks, and I still don't have my car. Every other certified shop I've spoken to said this is a job that should take 8-12 hours, max 1-2 days. They've been charging me for a car I haven't even had in my possession. And now they're demanding a lump sum payment just to release the car -- after I've already lost my job because I had no transportation. When my mother called to try and help, she was met with nasty, rude behavior from a staff member. That's unacceptable. This is a clear breach of contract and unprofessional on every level. I've already started filing complaints with the BBB, the Texas Attorney General, and the CFPB. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I walked in. We got right to work - no wait. Left with a vehicle for a small down payment. Mike Smith and Corey were very kind and didn't make us feel like we were being hustled by used car salesmen at all! They worked with us to fit our needs plus they were efficient. The office was spacious and very comfortable. Welcoming and upbeat, unlike everywhere else I've been. Small vending machines inside and great eateries within minutes! The car was in incredible condition compared to the other dealerships I've been to. From body to mileage, Auto Max beat all the others easily. There is a good selection of vehicles at this location plus they pull from other lots. They provided a carfax - bonus! I was going to ask for one. We got to test drive it as well. Auto Max easily trumps all the others when it comes to the buying process and selection. ALL of the staff was incredible. After going over payment and payment due date, I told him I would rather pay the note once a month. He then says "You have to be set up on auto draft today and every two weeks for the 1st six months of financing." I said ok. Now that I have kept the six month auto draft, I called him to move forward with the one month payment option. He says "All payments must be on auto pay for any loan financed with Mahrough Enterprises International (M.E.I) Inc. As the saying goes "If it's not in writing, it does not exist!" Andrew Martinez, MEI and AUTOMAX does not have your best interest at hand. Not fair I have to even give them a one star rating. They deserve a negative star! This has been the worst car buying experience I have ever had! You can't get a clear answer from management to save your life regarding anything. I wouldn't recommend anybody to go here ever. I was told to come back with one down payment amount and when I went back the down payment was higher than I was advised. The car I wanted was idling more than normal so I was told it would go to the shop on Monday and I would get a call on Tuesday for pickup which did not happen. It took me to reach out to the lot in order to get an update which they took all day to get back to me with nothing more than "it's not ready" I then had to contact the service center directly myself to find out more information. I was advised by the service center they did not get the car until Tuesday (which again the lot told me they would take it on Monday) and did not know what was wrong nor when the car would be ready because they hadn't even started on it. When I expressed the major inconvenience this has caused the manager Ron and the service guy Bruce showed no consideration as to how they were handling things. Yes, every person will do what they need to do to make a sale however if it wasn't for any of their customers they wouldn't make anything. Better customer service and professionalism is needed. If they were in their customer's shoes they wouldn't appreciate being given the run around. I would rather take the chance of having a heat stroke walking than to ever get anything here. I wish I could give this car place zero stars. 1st of all I purchased my car in Feb of 2021 from Arlington truck center which no longer exist. I was scammed out of a car because I was vulnerable and desperate. The first issue I had with this car is the power steering was fucked up. I took this car back 3 times within a week or purchasing it. First it had no power steering fluid, then it had no cap on the power steering, then finally they said it had a hole in it. I was struggling to drive this car with my kids during the winter storm which was dangerous. Then the check engine light came on. I took it to autozone and the catalytic converter needed to be replaced. I took the car back 3 more times for them NOT to fix it. And it's still NOT fixed. They gave me 2 loaner cars one which they had to TOW BECAUSE IT DIED ON ME AT WORK. After that, June 2021 the alternator and a/c compressor went out along with the temperature gauge. I had to replace that. While replacing those things I need assistance with putting the car note to the back of the loan cause I couldn't afford it with paying for all these car repairs. They laughed in my face and told me it was nothing that they could do but for me to come up with the car payment. The account manager is very fucking rude. I don't see how she still has a job. My starter is now going out in this car and I cannot afford to pay this car note so I asked for it to be pushed to the back of the loan and I was told that I do not qualify for that and they threating me to tow the car. I just hit a year and haven't been able to enjoy this car not one bit and on top of all these repairs. The blend door actuator is clicking very bad. THEY ARE SCAMMERS. This company is absolutely horrible. After I purchased this almost a month ago I have tried to get in contact with the manager multiple times with no luck. I have expressed the severity of my call to every single person who has answered the phone. I began making these calls within the first 7 days. The vehicle had been bought from an auction and the carfax showed that it had been wrecked. Now I was under the impression they had serviced this vehicle. By week 3 I just talked to the service manage and he told me the only tickets he had were for an oil change and a detail. So with that being said I have since then took it my mechanic to have it checked out fully and to see what exactly was wrong. The list is ridiculous. Tie rod is bad, struts, shock, control arm and ball joint. The entire front end is messed up. The first person from automax told me it would take 6 months for a letter!! We waited for it, never recieved. Called back, second request. Was told it would be sent next day, never recieved. They called me the third time trying to sell me a car! When I told the lady what happend, I was transferred to collections and told there was nothing that could be done. Recently had one of the windshields on the vehicle replaced and was told that whoever installed it did a patch job (which was the cause of the leak, found out this was also done by Automax before I purchased the vehicle). I bout my first car a 2008 dodge charger back in 2015 the car was a lemon but I understood that it was a used car and would have some issues so I didn't push the issue until my motor blew on it in 2017.... I was very upset at the time and should have taken my money and ran but due to personal reasons like getting my kids to and from school and work for myself I decided to stay with the company since they had all of my information and i really didn't have much time to play with. So I made sure the balance on my old car was good and I put a payment down on the new car (all the the same day). 2011 Nissan Rogue.... here we are 1yr 3 months later, I started Having major issues with THIS CAR already, I called their service department and the service man Santos was very rude and pretty much laughed that I wasn't able to get my car to their shop to get looked at. I than called for personal mechanics I know to come and help me since the company I was paying wouldn't help me. I paid out of my pockets for a new starter, batter, and alternator. The car still did not work. At this point I decided to call corporate. The man was very helpful and made sure I was able to get my car looked at. So they get my car and discover the motor blew!!!! Yea again!!! I was upset, but needed my car so I told them I would pay the $1000 fee to get it fixed July 2018. So they're working on my car for about two weeks and tell me I can't have a loaner car because my situation was not as serious as the customers that have car wrecks, although I still pay them an extra fee monthly so that I could have help when needed. 2 months later im driving on the highway to KS and hear a Pop. My AC just stopped instantly! So I called automaxx to tell them what happened he told me to bring the car back once i was in town. The next day my car started jerking. I than called automaxx again to report the issue. I take the car to the shop and told the service man justin and Santos to just look at my car and diagnose it and I'll pay the diagnose fee and decide if I want you all to fix it or not. Everyone agreed. This morning I get a phone call that my car has a few things wrong with $800 fee. I asked him to break down the price for me and it didn't add up 10hr labor ×$55= $500 Parts spark plugs, val gasket,resister blower= $170 How did we get $800 out of this??? So I told him I wanted to stick with my original plan and let my personal machanic work on it. He says that's fine all u owe is now is $137... I was not sure how $55 turned into$137, than he told me I was charged for an ac recharge (something that was part of the diagnosis). I told him I would not play that fee and never agreed to. So I went to pick up my car and paid $55 but they gave me a receipt for $137( meaning they were billing me for the rest) at this point I was not very happy because I felt they were being sneaky and I asked for a manager. When The accounts manager came I knew I didn't have a chance (but God),, I thought she was there to help resolve the problem than she tries to bring up a past due balance that was already taken care of!!!! So she was no help!!! Another manager actually came out to at least to hear my situation and resolved it the $82 fee. I purchased my car a year ago. I had to buy 4 new tires a month after I got the car as well get new break pads. $700! Of course they said it's not covered. 2 months after that had a oil leak had to pay $1400 to fix that of course AutoMax service department couldn't do anything about because "it's not covered" Well 4 months ago the car started to break down bad. It started with the alternator going out. $300 to get it fixed I paid $120 for a tow truck and they kept my car for 3 weeks yes I still had to pay the note. 2 weeks later the car broke down again this time it was running hot and it wouldnt start. They said it was the engine compressor and I needed a new starter. That was $3800 total so I had to pay $1000 down and get $50 increase in my biweekly payments until it was paid off. They kept my car 3 more weeks to fix it but they pushed a payment back to the end of loan so which basically did nothing because they had my car and I still had to pay for Lyft to get to and from work and to and from my kids school. When I got the car back I noticed it took 5-10 minutes to start my car. It's a 2014 Dodge Charger push start. That never happened to me before so I notified service department and was told "well we test drove it and everything and it runs fine. Every since they "fixed" starter my car takes 5-15 minutes to actually start. I would have to keep pressing the on/start button turning it off repeating until it finally starts. 2 in a half weeks later the car breaks down AGAIN and this time it was the transmission coolant lines. I was told it would be $300 down and the remaining could be added to my loan but again my biweekly payments would increase again $50 so at this point I'm paying $100 extra every 2 weeks now. 3 weeks later guess what? The car breaks down AGAIN and I'm told they are fully booked with cars and wouldn't be able to see mine for weeks so take it to pep boys. Pep boys notified me that the started was not engaging so it needed to be replaced and I needed a new fuel pump. Mei covered the starter since they were SUPPOSED to have fixed the second time it went to them! They charged me $200 Down and the remaining added on my loan and im sure you can guess ANOTHER $50 increase on my biweekly payments. Well I picked my car 2 days ago. Why is it broken down again? I'm literally in tears because I've spent so much money on my car and my account manager in fiancé Nina is the WORST! She'll say well the contract states as is so wether it's working or not you still have to pay the not on it .Even after explain that the car doesn't last a month without breaking she smacked her lips and stated well still gotta pay we have moved a payment around for you before. Yes they have but moving a payment around BECAUSE the car stays in yall shop for weeks and I have to pay for Lyft a car note and pay the service department to fix the car like come on! I called pep boys and was told that I have 2 fuel pumps and my car company today them to just change ONE to save on costs! He explained he did notify them that my car might have the same problem because both needed to be changed and was still told to only change one. How could you do that to someone ? So basically they are rigging my car doing temporary fixes. I recorded the call and kept all my receipts and have gotten a lawyer involved on my current options at the moment. They are basically selling people lemons and keeping the customer in debt by half fixing the problems and charge a arm and leg to do it in the process.
