We drove from Wylie to Arlington anticipating seeing a Dodge Durango that we viewed online with availability. So first off, be aware all texts and communication by your phone number are AI generated. There is no Jerry! Lol but not really. The other person who gave the review for this dealership about "lies, lies, lies," is 100% accurate! So upon arrival, hardly anyone was around to come and even greet you. If there are sales reps they are just sitting at their desk. I did see some men walking around coming in and out but we were never greeted. We noticed a couple waiting in one of the office areas. Finally, I texted that we were there and the response was, to go back inside and ask for Jerry's AI self. Even the chick that finally walked up to us, kinda had a chuckle when I said the text said to ask for Jerry. So we then ask her about the Durango and we are walked into her office. She asked us how much we were planning to put down and some of our personal information (address, etc) but we still had not heard anything about the car in question. So she takes off, takes awhile to come back and then mentioned to us sorry for taking so long but that she cannot locate that vehicle on their lot or the keys to it. We were so thrown off by this. She literally mentioned this happens a lot, not being able to locate keys to vehicles. Like huh? So then she asks if we wanted to see any other vehicles. We told her we drove all the way out (about an hour) to see that particular vehicle that Jerry's AI self texted is ready to test drive when we arrived. So we asked about another Durango that was literally parked in the front row as you pull into the dealership. She preceded to say "where?" and I even pointed telling her it's the only silver Durango out front as you walk out the front entrance doors. She said she understands but that there are a couple of them. There wasn't. Only one out front. She gave us the pricing finally on it and it wasn't in our budget. Meanwhile, she leaves to go do something and so I just wanted to find out how long the other couple had been waiting. The female mentioned a tad over an hour. I told her yeah, we were told the keys can't be located for the vehicle we were coming to see and she said they were told the same and it was a totally different car. So I ask the girl if there was a manager on site and she said yes. I asked if she could let them know we wanted to speak to them. So then she comes back with the "manager". He asks what he can help us with. I lay out all what had happened and what we were there for. So he says give him a little bit and that he's going to try and look for our vehicle. He comes back and says he tried pulling it up in the system and it wasn't found. So who the h, e, double hockey sticks is lying here!? Her, the manager, both? Anyhow I told him put yourself in our shoes. I asked him how would you like going to look at a specific vehicle you had text communication about that was an hour away with your girlfriend, wife or even by yourself? He said "or my husband". I said "ok, your husband or whomever". He said "I'm kidding". I really didn't care regardless if he was with a man. My point was over looked! I said what I said for the principle of the situation with hopes of him being relatable and making the situation not only heard but taking it in to where they make changes so it's not happening to others moving forward. The finance worker and the brand new sales employee were the only great things about this particular dealership in Arlington. Everything else was abysmal. Car price I was told was a lot higher than what was listed on the website and the original car they could not get the keys for because the a worker put them somewhere they had no access to. The car has too many scratches and other stuff on it that are the paint and was not taken care of. The Battery died the next day after buying it, the car came with no car mats and no licenses plate. The customer service reps were friendly and helpful and when it became apparent that the courtesy drop-off service driver wasn't going to be available in time, they pulled one of the service techs off the job to drive me home personally. Even though the car was only in for a recall and inspection, they additionally took care of a minor drivability issue that I'd researched and asked them to take a look at and didn't even charge extra for the time. I got a Dodge Ram Rebel from this dealership, despite their best efforts. First, they tried to get me to buy a truck that I hadn't even seen in person after walking off with my drivers license and last pay stub for a suspiciously long amount of time, then when I finally saw the truck, it had a flat tire and absolutely NONE of the listed features that it had on the website. They literally just copy pasted from another. (Then they had the audacity to ask for a referral). The tire wasn't fixed, just patched, so went flat again within 20mins. In an effort to "make it right", they said they would honor the monthly payment agreed on for another truck. So I sent them a link to another one, only to have them bait and switch me for an identical truck with less features and 40k more miles. It also had a cracked windshield, cracked back window, and non-functioning windshield sprayers (but they said they would fix this...sort of). I took the truck back for repairs when instructed to, only for the service people to have no idea what I was talking about and the parts not ordered. They finally said they would fix the windshield, but not the sprayers, which is a safety issue and (to my knowledge) something that needs to be functioning in order for the truck to pass state inspection. Since no one at either Clay Cooley CDJR Arlington will return my calls or anyone at Clay Cooley Auto Group will return calls or emails. I need to share this experience I had with my Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk at their Arlington Location. It went in for an oil change, no issues there. They also stated my valve cover gaskets are leaking and needed to be replaced. Since it was under warranty (they preformed the work last Jan) it was under parts and labor warranty. I told them I was leaving out of town the next few days and I can drop it off. I dropped it off, I didn't hear anything until I called my Service Advisor Javair. He informed me they misdiagnosed my Jeep from the beginning and it was actually the timing cover gaskets that were leaking, and needed to be resealed. I told them "For over a year it's been leaking and you all have been servicing my Jeep and you are just now telling me it's wasn't the valve cover gaskets all along!?" I told him I would like to see photo prove of the leak and how bad it's leaking. He stated he would send photos of the leak and send over a quote. Well, a day passed, I didn't hear anything back from him. I called him on a Wednesday, asked for the quote to repair and the photos which never came. I got the quote and told him to repair the vehicle, but I would like a discount on the labor since it was misdiagnosed. He was able to give out a 300$ discount on the repair, which he was thanked. He said the vehicle should be done by the time I get back on Friday. Friday comes around, I didn't hear anything from him, so I called, but he already had left. (This was during the ice storm we had). And, depending how much ice\sleet\snow we got, the dealership won't be open until more then likely Tuesday the following WEEK. Here comes Tuesday, no response from ANYONE at the dealership, but all I got was a text my Jeep was ready to be picked up. Headed to the Clay Cooley CDJR, only one guy was working the service area, I paid and collected my keys. Upon looking at my jeep, there was oil splatter and other debris all over the front fenders. Random barcode part stickers over various parts of the engine, and best of all. The air intake was NOT connected to the throttle body, air intake temp sensor was not fully inserted into the intake tube, the intake tube was NOT connected to the air filter. I know I have an aftermarket intake system, but it's not that complicated to place all together. Thus, letting unfiltered and unmetered air into the engine and letting foreign objects into the motor. Seeing this, I have zero confidence my vehicle was repaired to factory spec and with the professionalism you'd expect from any Jeep dealership. And, my engine cover wasn't reinstalled, and is now missing. Furthermore, when I was there picking up unrelated parts, a customer was stating almost the exact level of complaint from his RAM 1500 (misdiagnosis and no communication from anyone), and a service advisor was arguing with the customer. I really hate writing reviews, as I've been a customer at this dealership for over 10 years while it was Don Davis Dodge, Jeep, RAM. To say I was disappointed with the service department would be an understatement. I expected to wait, however, 4 hours later, I was told my diagnostic of my passenger seatbelt was ready. What I got was a laundry list of items I didn't ask to be looked at in addition to recommending full replacement of the seatbelt for $900. OK, I would have to think on it, find a time I could come back and would let them know. I was told to have a seat and he would process my paperwork and bring my Jeep around. One hour and ten minutes later I'm still waiting. I went to the service desk, he's nowhere to be seen (it's lunchtime now of course) so I asked someone else who quickly printed my paperwork, I paid and got in my Jeep ten minutes later. Imagine my surprise when I noticed my passenger seat hadn't even been moved! It's quite obvious in a Jeep if the seat has been moved. And you have to move the seat to see the seatbelt mechanism on the floor behind it. So, 5 hours and $267 later I got a bogus diagnosis and charged for it! So now I 'm doing what I should have done in the first place and am taking it to my 4x4 shop for a free diagnostic before they order any necessary parts or replacement. Clay Cooley-owned dealerships have let me down twice! Had a horrible experience in 2015 when I purchased my new Mirage. This year, August 15 to be exact, I bought a Jeep Compass from them. We have as close to perfect credit as you can get but were still held hostage while we "negotiated" acceptable interest rates and how much we'd get for our trade-in. I traded in a 2022 Honda Accord, bought brand new, and I had only put 7700 miles on it in 3 years. It was practically still brand new but they low-balled me on the trade-in. By 10:00 PM we finally agreed to a number to pay it off at Honda and an interest rate and maintenance plan we would accept on the new Jeep. We were so beat up by the whole process, that we just wanted to forget it and go home. We bought the Jeep and left my beautiful car there as the trade in. Well, it's been over a month and my trade in is still not paid off. I've had to make another payment on it even though it hasn't been in my possession. Every call gets someone different who doesn't know what's going on and promises to get the information and call us back. We have been called back ZERO times. I'm furious, disappointed, and disgusted. I'm ready to go up there and demand my trade in back until it's paid off since I'm still making payments but I'm sure the car is gone by now. Transparency. They lack honesty OR they are failing miserably at training. I made appointments to see four gently used cars to test drive and to look at similar new cars. The used cars were advertised. The text bot set the appointment. AI obviously doesn't understand the distance between Weatherford and Richardson, but I do. So having an appointment was important. A salesperson should have expected us and been ready since I was clear in saying that we needed to drive the cars to figure out which one to buy. To be clear, my area was hit by hail only the Good Lord could have sent. It wiped out the cars and roofs of not only my community but of our car dealerships. Does Clay Cooley care? It is family owned. They seem like lovely people. I'm sure Clay Cooley himself would have expressed real concern after Church. But family businesses can outgrow the family. I think that happened here when our salesman brushed off my explanation that we had driven a long way to see and testdrive by appointment with "ha ha that was with our AI" then instead of leading us to the cars we really wanted to see, even the pretty new green ones on the front row (you know which ones I mean Mr. Cooley) he had us sit while he pretended to look up the cars all having sold on Saturday. If that wasn't his last day it should have been. So what could improve? 1. Have your AI meet customers and show them the cars they wish to see 2. When a customer says "show me your best deal" get up off your spoiled brat bottom and show them something 3. Seriously, make sure your sales team knows who is coming in and greet them as if they were expected and are welcomed. 4. If you can't connect AI to salespeople, then pay sales $5 a text and set firm appointments with real people. Geezeohpeet, Clay, you have one job. I purchased my Jeep Wrangler 7 years ago from Don Davis Auto. Never had a problem with repairs. Now that Don Davis is now Clay Cooley Auto, I just assumed I'd get the same kind of service. Was I wrong! I was given a repair appointment last week. Upon my arrival, I was told the tech just resigned so there was no one available. One tech resigns and you have nobody who can look at a "check engine light"? I got a text 5 days later offering a new repair appointment. I returned to Clay Cooley and was told before I could barely turn off the engine that it would cost me $229 for them to even evaluate what could be wrong. I was surprised. In 7 years I have never been asked for a fee up front to look at my Jeep. I spoke with the manager and told him that the last time I had a repair, it was simply a new gas cap and there was no mention of $229 to determine what needed to be done. It has been in the shop since the end of January 2025 and it is now mid March 2025. When you call to see what is going on they are never sure what the problem is because there is "no notes" in the system and someone will call back. I went in yesterday to speak to the manger and no manger ever came. I am absolutely appalled by the customer service and the lack of knowledge that the service department.
