My 2005 Toyota Sequoia was overheating and my dad recommended that I have it towed here. They were able to look at it within an hour of it's arrival and they were able to determine that it was just a broken radiator cap. The part itself cost about $16, and even though they spent an hour on my vehicle, they were gracious enough to only charge me for 30 mins of labor. I really loved the cool water feature made out of an old radiator and I especially loved being greeted by a friendly German Shepherd. Okay so I came in the day before and explained i had overheating issues. They told me I would have to leave it for a few hours to check it out . So I decided to come the following day. Note* left it since 8AM a 4 hour gap period for them to tell me nothing was wrong ... the guy drove my car waisted my gas to tell me Nothing was wrong ... but I drove it 15 mins and it began to overheat ... Again the "Expert " told me they tested everything and didn't seem to overheat " which I knew it was a lie * Moral of the review ... Take it elsewhere If they specialize in overheating and can't figured out the problem why ??? I mean really why advertise it ... go else where it'll save you time and money ... take it from me . read more

Great customer service and transparency. They tested tested a faulty after market radiator that I had purchased from amazon. Upon diagnosing the issue, they helped take multiple photos to assist me with my claim. They then replaced my radiator with one from them, and got me back on the road. I looked all over town for different prices on a new radiator for my 2009 Kia. I'm just a college undergraduate with student debt and a low paying job so 500 bucks was not what I wanted to dump into my car. I even looked on Union and did not feel comfortable leaving my car for hours with any old shop. I realized I'm just going to have to spend a little money for a trustworthy shop to take my car in without worrying about anything. They were AWESOME. They gave a little discount (only $350), they were honest, and very helpful. I will definitely be back if I have any issues with radiators on my future cars. Driving through Bakersfield, my radiator sprung a leak. My husband did a quick google search and unfortunately found this place. The man said he could repair the radiator by welding where it was leaking. Hubby agreed and money was exchanged. We left and while on the road, we made a quick pit stop and sure enough the radiator was leaking again. We called and the owner said he would NOT return the cost, rather we could use it as credit to buy a new radiator through him. That's great, but the radiator net (with credit) cost through Automotive Radiator Service costs HUNDREDs of dollars more than a reputable shop in Pasadena including installation. Not only was he unprofessional on the phone, he got very upset and raised his voice after hearing our complaints. Maybe he was having a bad day, but that is no way to treat a customer. read more

THEY SCAMMED US!! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!! We needed a new radiator and wanted to save some money since Toyota's estimate was over $1k. Husband called this place bc it's the best in town (eye roll). Too good to be true, but hey maybe they'll prove me wrong. I was right. Said it would take a couple days for the part to arrive. Once it came in, I dropped it off on 8/24/17 and it was ready the next day. They were very friendly. Made conversations about how everything worked out just in time for our weekend trip to the beach. Sweet. Thought all was good with the car. A month later coolant is leaking again. This is how we found out we needed a new radiator. Next week and a half we keep an eye on the coolant and it's leaking. Call this place up and tell them what's going on and they tell us to bring it in. I bring it in the next day on 10/20/17. As soon as I walk in and tell them the situation I just don't have any good vibes. Not like the first time I came in. The older man didn't care to carry a conversation like the first visit. They kept looking at me. I just knew something wasn't right. So the younger man tells me it could be a 20 min fix bc of something. Honestly forgot bc I know nothing about cars. Workers came back from lunch and he tells me that there's a default in this brand new radiator they installed. They're going to replace it at no charge. I guess I was in luck bc they happened to have another brand new radiator for my car bc I picked it up the next day. The last time it took a couple days for it to come in. They just happened to have one on the spot? Red flags all around. Next day we go to pick it up and still something is off. Husband is making conversation with the younger guy. Just how crazy there was a default in a brand new radiator blah blah blah. We're wanting to leave but he gives us no paper work or keys which I thought that's what we were waiting for. After the conversation stops and the younger man doesn't say anything my husband asks if the keys were in the car and that's when the guys said yeah it's in there and ready to go. So bizarre. Like why wouldn't he tell us that. Everything was off. A month later the same thing is happening AGAIN!!! I knew in my gut something wasn't right! I have no doubt in my mind they really "replaced" the radiator. I mean how could they just happen to have a brand new one for my car at the shop when the last time it took a couple days to get in. There was no way we were taking the car back to this place. So my husband bought a new radiator at AutoZone. Him and his friend installed it and guess what? No problems since. That's how I know this place scammed us. We thought we were saving money going to them instead of having Toyota fix it. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Go somewhere else unless you want them to steal your money and do nothing to your car. read more

I had some custom made gas tanks for my 1969 CJ that I needed cleaned and checked. Jumped on YELP and ARS popped up with some other shops. One of the other shops that popped up I had already had a bad experience with so I went to ARS. They were very pleasant over the phone. Upon arriving at their shop I found it very clean and professional looking. Looking around the shop it looked like they specialize in commercial and industrial radiators. They were very friendly and personable. I told them I would like to pick my tanks up on Friday morning and they said no problem. They jumped right on them. I forgot to ask for an estimate prior leaving. There were some repairs required to both tanks which I was not expecting and from a previous estimate from another shop a few years back, I was prepared to pay twice as much as what they actually charged me. Disregard the previous negative posting and see my recommendation. Can't say enough good. Short story- 1) I put a hole in my radiator and called them. They repaired same day at very reasonable price. 2) radiator fluid started leaking again after a few months and I went in thinking it was a faulty repair....not the case. They instantly started troubleshooting and made some quick adjustments. NO CHARGE! 3) started leaking again. They identified the hidden culprit (damaged part due to operator error). Again they worked on my rig immediately. No CHARGE... Even though last two times were due to my abuse of the rig. They are responsive, reasonably priced, friendly, and just an overall very professional and capable bunch. They have earned a loyal customer. read more

This shop was very knowledgeable, friendly, and gave a detailed description of the work that they would do to fix the problem on my radiator and what it would cost. Also, they had the best price for a radiator service out of all of the places I called in Bakersfield. I am very impressed with this business and will be referring them to everyone I know. Not only is my radiator fixed, but they took mine right in and started working on it as soon as I arrived! This was convenient because I live up in Tehachapi and did not want to drive back and forth.
