For some reason this time, I know my appointment was deleted from the system. I received "we missed you" in my email a few days later. Being in the service Business myself for 30 years , I think I know why. I asked the Manager "rude dude" to explain why my $796.00 quote turned out to be $1,100 dollars for four 17" tires. He got scared that I would not give the store a good review, which hurts his bonus or something of that order. Because of this - I'm thinking of not going back to this location.     Brought my 2020 Jeep Gladiator in for an alignment. Dropped it off the night before an 8 AM…read moreappointment--wasn't touched until late afternoon. I paid extra for a custom alignment and asked for 6° caster. Tech didn't understand and I was told "he doesn't like working on Jeeps." The real issue: they used a pipe wrench on my brand-new $1,200 aftermarket steering components--which adjust by hand--leaving deep gouges and scratches. I took great care during install to preserve their finish and that was completely ruined. When I got home, I checked the alignment myself. The caster was set to 22°, dangerously out of spec, and the tie rod and draglink ends were set opposite of parallel. Steering wheel wasn't even straight. I now have to pay another shop to fix their work. I have photo and video evidence of everything. Completely unprofessional. Avoid this location.

There's no more options, so court looks inevitable. If you have a problem with ANY Meineke franchise, you are out of luck. Meineke Corporate refuses to help. I called the number Meineke Corporate provided below. This is how the "conversation" went. I was told independently owned and operated franchises make their own decisions and are NOT held accountable by Meineke Corporate. The Lumberton, NJ Meineke installed a defective alternator, but refused to take responsibility. After the defective alternator was installed, my car continued to have issues with dimming lights while driving at night. I was told it was not the alternator, but rather my battery terminals were loose and needed tightening. After giving them two opportunities, I decided to take it to another mechanic who diagnosed the defective alternator and consequently installed a properly working one. I had to pay another mechanic for what Meineke would not do. The Lumberton, NJ Meineke has had the defective alternator returned to them, which has been proven to be defective, by UPS with tracking and signature verification at my expense. I have fully documented everything and I am prepared to go to court to resolve this matter if need be. Everything I am saying can be backed up with documentation. The Lumberton, NJ Meineke continues to dispute my claim even after being given back the defective alternator (which allows for Meineke to receive a total reimbursement from their parts supplier, Auto Zone). This business is getting paid twice. Once from me and once from their parts supplier. I will update this review and replace it with a neutral one, if the Lumberton, NJ Meineke franchise owner, S.T.M., comes to his senses and issues the credit card refund. Thank you for reading. I had originally made an appointment through the Pep Boys site for 4 new tires to be changed after they were delivered from Tire Rack. I called in to confirm the appointment and they said they could not do that time, so I rescheduled 2 days later for 1 PM. When I came in the guy working the desk had no idea what I was talking about even though I had done the same thing twice with their store in the previous years. When they finally located the tires I was told it would be about 3 hours for change and alignment. While I was waiting they were playing some stupid sounds on their phone and complaining that workers were taking breaks without telling them. I decided to get a ride home and waited. When I had left at around 1:30 PM they still had not even brought the truck into the bay. Since I wasn't given the courtesy of a call to tell me they were running behind, 4 hours later I called and they said their workers had been taking breaks which was causing the delay and had just got the tires off and that I also needed new brake pads., which turned out to be false since they were actually talking about a completely different car. I told them to cancel the alignment and I would have someone else do it. That and I had gone through this site and read all the nightmare reviews from other customers. The truck was finally done 5 hours after the original appointment time for merely changing 4 tires. I would give this place below zero stars if I could and will never ever use it again. 5 HOURS TO PUT ON NEW TIRES IS COMPLETELY INEXCUSABLE!
