He was kind and patiently waited for other family members traveling in the vehicle to be picked up and our belongings removed from the vehicle. He jumped our vehicle so we could close our windows after waiting with them open on a hot day. I was informed by our roadside assistance company that another quote was $250 higher than the Goss price to tow from Appleton to Green Bay. The quality of service work and turn-around time was impressive. The service engine light ended up coming back on and the mechanic took time to get it right back in and fixed an unrelated minor issue that turned up at no extra charge, allowing Emily to resume back to her normal schedule quickly. Worst of all... they totally destroyed my timing belt cover. I brought it in there cause the shop is supposed to be able to service older foreign vehicles. They broke 4 bolts on the timing cover and broke off all the plastic bolt tabs that hold it on. When I asked them about the damage they said it was all there before I brought it in. I know FOR A FACT it was in one piece before they got their destroying hands on it. When I called the owner out on it.. first he said thats the way it was.. When I said he was lying he then told me it was an old car and stuff like that breaks... Well then why the heck didnt you tell me about it and replace it. instead they cobbled it together with a bunch of washers and rigged it to stay in place. The brand new thousand dollar timing belt is now completely exposed in two spots. They werent even going to tell me about this stuff and let me drive away. When I said I would have bought a new cover if they had told me...he got real snooty with me and said they dont have time to leave my car up on the stand waiting for parts. I came in 2 hours after they started the work and asked if they thought I needed any more parts.. The answer was no.. everything is fine. Mind you the timing cover was off already but he never showed it to me. I wonder why... hmmm...... And they had the car there 2 days. We called Eric who was closing up after a long day and he offered to wait for us to drive over. He raised the car and determined it was the engine cover that was dragging. He removed it and advised us that we could drive without it but to get it repaired upon our return. I tried to pay him for staying late and helping us out but he would take no money. It's just the way he is. A class act. And I could tell a very successful person given the amount of business he was doing in there and, as I've read, his reputation in the community. And young. My daughter was pulled over by the sheriff while she had a debilitating headache so she couldn't drive, and the Sheriff called Felix for a tow. The charges for a 13 mile tow and 1.5 days of storage was $354.71. Storage is $55/day, and a day is a minute or 24 hours. When the calendar changes, they charge you $55. They charged my daughter $165 for 36 hours of storage! I would call this taking advantage of helpless people. It's unethical and ridiculous. I would avoid these people at all costs. They should be ashamed, but I'm sure they're not. Stay away from these larcenists--certainly don't call them for a tow unless you want to be extorted to get your car back.
