They called me on Saturday to confirm Monday pickup (after I pestered U-Haul about where, exactly, I was supposed to be getting this truck). They had our 20' truck and a boatload of moving pads ready bright and early Monday morning and the paperwork went smoothly. When we called back 20 minutes later, concerned that the truck was, uh, not quite big enough, they immediately got on the horn and called back promptly with a 26' truck for us to trade into, after helping the husband consider the pros and cons of adding a trailer to the 20' truck. They even helpfully backed the truck out for the husband so he didn't have to start by backing it up! These guys are clearly mechanics first, customer service folks second, but I was very happy with the service we received. Plus, they have a nice framed news article on the wall about how they once spent two days hauling a semi truck out of a frozen lake, so clearly a U-Haul truck is pretty small potatoes for these guys. If you have any choice at all in where to pick up your U-Haul, get it here!

My wife and I were driving in the early evening around 8 PM and had something begin dragging on the bottom of our car. We were in the middle of a 600 mile trip and not knowing what it was we were obviously looking at an issue at 8 PM at night. We called Eric who was closing up after a long day and he offered to wait for us to drive over. He raised the car and determined it was the engine cover that was dragging. He removed it and advised us that we could drive without it but to get it repaired upon our return. I tried to pay him for staying late and helping us out but he would take no money. It's just the way he is. A class act. And I could tell a very successful person given the amount of business he was doing in there and, as I've read, his reputation in the community. And young. Early 30's building his own successful business. Give his establishment a try.

My daughter was pulled over by the sheriff while she had a debilitating headache so she couldn't drive, and the Sheriff called Felix for a tow. The charges for a 13 mile tow and 1.5 days of storage was $354.71. Storage is $55/day, and a day is a minute or 24 hours. When the calendar changes, they charge you $55. They charged my daughter $165 for 36 hours of storage! I would call this taking advantage of helpless people. It's unethical and ridiculous. I would avoid these people at all costs. They should be ashamed, but I'm sure they're not. Stay away from these larcenists--certainly don't call them for a tow unless you want to be extorted to get your car back.

My appointment was for 1pm. My car wasn't moved from where I parked it until 1:25. I thought once they had my car in the garage and had a look at it that they would come out to the waiting room to give me my options. Instead, they installed a $254 battery; they thought this was ok for a 20yo car. There was no communication with me regarding anything until 2:45 when Brian came to the waiting room to inform me of $2000 worth of work that my car needed, which included $761 for 2 rear struts. I never asked for a full car inspection. I thought I would not be able to leave, but I was informed the battery was not yet installed. I didn't get out of there until 4 pm. Once I arrived home I took a closer look at my receipt and saw that I was billed $85 for a "charging system test" which I did not ask for, nor was it necessary. I then looked under the hood and saw that even though they had my car for 3 hours, they couldn't take a minute to do a courtesy top-off to the power steering fluid and brake fluid, but instead left them at below the low mark. The AAA battery they installed had a black date sticker of 6/24; a one-year old battery.

So bad in fact, that when their work inevitably fails, I will pay another shop to re-do it, rather than take advantage of their warranty. If I could give it negative stars, I would. Poor communication, coupled with incompetent technicians, and horrid customer service made repairing my truck a disaster, after I had just lost every worldly possession I owned in a house fire that caused the initial damage. Backstory: My house burned down 3/8/25, my truck (pictured) was parked in the driveway. While not impacted by flames, it was impacted by debris falling off the roof as the FD fought the fire. I brought the truck to Gerber to repair the damages, as it's my only possession that made it out, and I had previous, positive encounters with Gerber in ILLINOIS. They have now had my truck in their possession for a total of nearly 20 days - and it's arguably in worse condition than when I brought it in the first time after TWO comebacks. The first time I brought it back, it was due to missed damage, and shotty paint work with bumps in the clear coat. The second time I brought it back, there was more missed work on the doors, roof, door handles, and of course, they had to install "special order parts" that were backordered (it was literally vinyl wrap). This last time, I was quoted a week and told them I needed it back by Friday to go out of town for the long weekend. While my truck was in their possession, they got it absolutely filthy, busted my back window, messed up my window trim, and broke my window regulator. The truck is quite literally so dirty now, I cannot even check their work prior to a wash. There is still glass in the bed of my truck, dust all over the exterior, and interior. I have had warning lights on since the second time I brought it in because they couldn't get somebody reliable to come out and calibrate the assisted cruise control/crash sensors. I regularly had to call for updates because their communication was severely lacking - I had no idea about the special order part until the Friday I was supposed to pick it up. I had no idea they BROKE MY WINDOW AND REGULATOR until today, the day I was supposed to pick it up. They expected me to come back a FOURTH time, to get it reprogrammed and have their incompetent techs repairs my window regulator. When I complained about the lack of care put into these repairs, the general manager Jordan blamed me for not pointing out all the defects. I told him the condition pre-incident, I pointed out everything I saw, and asked for a THOROUGH RUN THROUGH because they are the experts, not me. He also lied to my insurance stating it was taking longer than expected because "it was only supposed to come in for the vinyl wrap". Each and every time I got the truck back, I was on the phone within 30 minutes letting them know everything they missed. They knew it was coming in for more than vinyl tape. I will now be taking the truck to the dealer to fix every thing they personally damaged, and everything they failed to fix correctly the first three times. Do yourself a favor and just avoid this altogether.

They kept me up to date of the status. When I picked up my car I noticed they missed a spot. Without issue they were going to fix it at no charge. When I called Gerber to advise I got a rental and to schedule drop off, the receptionist got very upset and rude!!! It was all downhill after that. Glad it's over and I got my car back. Very stressful process.
