Customer service is what makes or breaks a customer's decision to return to a franchise. When purchasing a certified pre-owned vehicle, the expectation is that the quality and service will be close to what you'd receive when buying brand-new. Unfortunately, that was far from our experience. We had to return twice just to get a proper interior detail. For the inconvenience, Abel, the GSM, offered to tint our windows--which we appreciated--until we picked up the car and realized the tint was practically pointless. You can still see clearly through the windows. On top of that, the windshield was filthy when we got the car back. When we pointed it out to Abel, his response was: "Well, it's not a new car." So, does that mean customers don't matter unless they're buying something straight off the showroom floor? To make things worse, the check engine light came on just four days after purchase. This is supposed to be a certified pre-owned vehicle. Certification requires inspections and standards that should make it feel like new--so why isn't the service held to the same standard? Anna Rodriguez was rude and not helpful at all. Scheduled an online appointment for Saturday 11/15 at 8:00 am to ask about some codes that kept coming up. She didn't even let me talk to anyone and said that we made it an online appointment for a noise. Held up a bunch of workorders and said it would be 5-7 days and they have no loaner vehicles. Wouldn't even consider letting me talk to someone one about the codes. Went to a smaller dealership walked into service department and ask what these codes mean. She put a handheld scanner on my car in less than five minutes gave me information. She scheduled me an appointment and was very helpful. read more

Would rate zero, but 1 star is required. This dealer is either completely unaware of General Motors policies regarding warranty service or simply unwilling to follow them. Made an appointment and was told it would be 5-7 days before they could get to the car. Aside from misleading customers on appointment dates and times, they refused to assist with loaner or rental while they had the car, indicating the issue had to be diagnosed before courtesy transportation was available. The vehicle had less than 500 miles, so it was clearly a warranty service. Thus, I contacted GM Customer Service directly and received the following: Whenever an overnight, warrantable repair is required, Chevrolet does try to assist with transportation during this period. GM will cover a daily rate of up to $44/day ($47/day Cadillac rental) from a 3rd party rental agency until the repair is concluded. Please note, we will only consider reimbursement for a GM vehicle rented from a 3rd party rental agency. A NON GM 3rd party rental will not be reimbursed. Also any other fees including taxes, insurance, fuel, taxes, other fees and optional add-ons such as navigation, toll road devices, satellite radio are not reimbursable." Having your dealership coordinate your alternate transportation will ensure it is within GM's coverage allowance. We can also contact the dealer to advise that they assist with setting up a rental if a loaner is not available. read more

On June 13th I called and set up an appointment to have my wife's 2023 Traverse checked out. Its new and under warranty. I specifically noted to the service tech that answered the phone that I was from out of town (West of Sinton), and that its about an hour's drive to come in. I also advised I was going to wait at the facility while it was looked at/diagnosed and hopefully fixed. I asked if that was a problem and was told that was not a problem. Based on what I was told, I had my appointment set for June 17th @ 7am. (you say your calls are recorded...go back to June 13th around 10: 30 am and check for yourself.) Per my appointment date/time, on June 17th I arrived at the AutoNation South Chevrolet location a few minutes before 7 am. Waiting until after 7am, I went to the doors, since no one came outside and the doors were locked. The ladies were inside as well as a few 8others. I went back to my car and then they came and opened the doors. Still no one met me outside. I went in and they initially couldn't find my information, but did after some looking. They told me to go across the lot to another building to visit with Jason Wilson. I asked for him to come over here, but that didn't 8happen. I ended up driving over there to find and speak with him (Lack of Customer Service) He told me it would be 2 to 3 days for the car to even be looked at. I went over what I was told when I initially scheduled my appointment and basically it was a too bad/too sad event. I was told the girls over there did not know what to do. Again, I explained based off of originally setting the appointment and confirming said appointment was actually in fact an appointment, that is where the new car could get service, I made the almost hour trip in to be told the girls don't know what they are talking about and that it would be 2 to 3 days before the car could get looked at. (No Customer Service, Just Attitude) As the customer, whether the girls know what to do is irrelevant to me, that's an internal problem that should be addressed internally and not broadcast to the customers. As to 2 or 3 days, that wasn't what I was told when scheduling the appointment.  Just thinking out loud for a minute.....The appointment was for what? That doesn't say much other than a blatant lack of customer service. Due to this and a total lack of customer service. I am out my time (2 hours), money and efforts to have warranty work done only to be messed around like this. Chevrolet customers/AutoNation customers deserve better that that. That is just not right. Again, it was a too-bad/too-sad affair. Lest we not forget, customers are the reason businesses are in business and stay in business. Customers are the reason for and what drives the sale/s of vehicles. Customers are the reason for and why/where repair of vehicles are performed. Without customers NONE of that works!  Right, Am I forgetting something?  Mess customers around and see them go elsewhere. Took our car in and they had it for almost a month never fixing the issue we took it in for all while the service advisor Anna was rude to us almost every time when calling to ask about our car whenever trying to reach her at all was difficult. Spoke to Randy the service director and he said he would be taking it over and 4 days went by and he never called or text and went on vacation. Absolutely the WORST car buying experience that I have ever had in my life! Buyers BEWARE!!! I purchased a 2024 Corvette Z06/Z07 at $25,000 over MSRP and was never told about any warranty restrictions. I now have the opportunity to order a 2025 Corvette ZR1, so I thought I would sell the Z06 as I do not need both. I found out that if I sell the Z06, the warranty is null & void. No one @ this dealership told me anything about this, nor did I sign any agreement to such terms. I have tried contacting them dozens of times and they will not return my calls. I have spoken w/ a GM representative, and they said that they are filing a complaint against them for not having me sign the warranty restriction agreement, but this does me no good at all. Took a day and a half to attempt to repair the brakes on my 2020 GMC PICK-up (with only 37500 mikes). Made appointment online, dropped off the truck and after a day and a half, I picked it up with the brakes being worse than when I dropped it off. The service advisor's, as well as the company's voicemail system would hang up on me when trying to reach someone about the issue. Left several messages with a different service advisor, but I never received a call back. Had to return the following day to have them figure out how they screwed up. Meanwhile, while my truck is at the dealership, I get a call from there call center asking when I would like to make an appointment to bring my truck in for service... "Ma'am! You currently have my truck there!" "We do? So sorry!" As I'm waiting to hear how they screwed up the over-priced repair, I have to listen to my service advisor's TikTok videos being played on his phone. He should probably be figuring out how to set up his voice mail, but that is obviously not a concern. read more

purchased a 2023 traverse in December had to take it in for an insurance purpose in the work that I received was lack of professionalism. The door panel made contact with a panel in front of it. My door knob wasn't painted or address. Scratch is still on the chrome. I also ordered some mats/liners. They were shipped to Auto Nation North it was supposed to be a 2-3 day wait. Two weeks later still no call or notifications. I ended up having to call myself and finding them on my own. When I open them, they look used they had scratches, poor quality and discoloration. so I guess I'll probably have to wait another two weeks and pray for the best. Cadillac.... Made appt a week out. Went to drop it off. Stood at counter for 10 min before i spoke out loud..."is this where we check in"? Three people in back were customer facing.... Three up front.....no one Ever looked up. And there were two other men in front of me that had not been acknowledged either. Women i later learned was "Anna", also didn't look at me, but while cracking her gum, said to "check in with the rep who made appt"... i asked her how i would know who that was, she again said while shuffling papers... "you should have gotten an email".... So i look it up, and it was Anna.... I patiently waited, then it was my turn and she told me I'd have to leave vehicle overnight because they were very backed up... she told me a technician just walked out on Saturday, and they were way behind, still working on last week. I asked her if she could check me in and when they were ready, I'd bring vehicle back... she said no, because they need to have vehicles ready to go, and that it could even take til Thursday or Friday.... This was Monday morning. Needless to say, i walked out. I've purchased 3 vehicles from this dealership. Never again. One of the worst customer service experiences ever... they should take lessons from Discount Tire in Portland or Minute Man Oil change on airline... both of these services are outstanding. read more

I found a truck online and called immediately to reserve it. I explained to them that I would put down a deposit to do whatever I had to hold it. The Truck was in TX and I had planned on flying in from ND. I was discussing with them over a week on the steps we were taking to come and purchase the vehicle. The dealership did not call me until 8 or 9 days after the initial discussion of holding the vehicle that it was previously sold. By this point I had already been talking with their finance manager and sales manager about the payment and final details. The dealership sold the vehicle out from under me and did not tell me until day 10. I had already purchased my non-refundable plane ticket and everything. This could have been avoided by a simple phone call. I understand mistakes get made, but they made several and I will NEVER be doing business with any Autonation due to how these clowns handled this situation. read more

I dropped my truck off on a Wednesday and was told it may be a day or two to look at it. I never received an update so I called on Friday afternoon. After not getting a call back I called again. I found out when I called the second time the advisor was off that day. I also found out the technician that hadn't started my truck yet had a family emergency. So I asked what the plan was before I leave my truck over the weekend with no progress. The manager called the technician and had him look at it on Saturday. After finally getting a call from someone not my advisor that they could not find the leak and wanted to keep it until Monday. So Monday I wait. Monday afternoon about 2 I called and was told by Anna that it had not been resolved. She said she would call me before close because I said I was coming at 630 to check on the truck. I know from the last year that I have to go to the dealer to get anything done. They didn't fix the leak but they did tell me to bring it back if it happens again. So I had no truck for 6 days and thankfully I did not lose money or my job. I would assume a person who relied on the truck to work would be better suited going somewhere else. read more

Don't just walk away from these guys, run, and run fast. When you walk in to auto nation you are asked if you are working with someone. If you give the name of the person you talked with on the phone or have worked with before, you may wait a long time if that person is busy or away from their desk. You can't just walk up to the first available person for help. My wife waited over a half hour because her designated helper *(AKA service manager) was busy. In the meantime, several other people were helped before her by the other helpers. First come is not first served. Also, the older gentlemen helper said "we are the only cadi dealer in town, if you don't like the way we do business, go to San Antonio." So much for customer focus. Every time we have taken our car to this dealership, it has been a horrible experience. We had an interior panel installed ($200) and when I picked up the car, the brand new panel had greasy finger prints on it. They had to clean the panel before I could take it home. This dealer ship has divided their service department by "service managers", I'll call them helpers. Each person who brings a car in is assigned a helper. Once you are assigned a helper, the other helpers will not work with you. Each mechanic works for a specific helper. If your helper is not there that day, the mechanic on duty will not work on your car unless you pitch a fit to the service manager. Customer service is not a factor as they have a monopoly in Corpus. Also, they offer you a free tank of gas if you give them a good rating on their survey. This is known as a bribe in certain circles. Therefore, I bet not many people give them a poor rating on surveys because they are paid not to. read more

Went to her desk at 10am and asked status on my vehicle she said she put me last because I didn't have an appointment and because I left, I told her I never left and regardless if I did or didn't she should have not put me last!!! I just got my truck back yesterday after leaving it with them on 5/22/18. What transpired during that time was a nightmare. The service advisor would not return my calls and when I finally got someone to respond I was lied to. To make things worse, I found out that the torque converter they replaced back in January was never replaced. They kept it for four days and told me it was done, but it was not. This time I reminded the same service advisor that I wasn't confident in doing the same thing and expect it not to fail. He assured me that GM has redesigned the torque converter and this one is different than the last one they installed. Lie! They never replaced it. I am not just disappointed in the service I received I am actually bothered by the level of dishonesty that came out of that situation. I should have read these reviews before taking my girlfriends car to these people because these reviews are SPOT ON. Trust me and do not waste your time with this business. They tried charging us 200 for a diagnostic but didnt fully check the vehicle which took another day to get to. Not to mention it was our second time taking it for the same reason, after being charged over 900 the first time which didn't fix anything. Didn't help with our warranty parts and couldn't look me in the eye when we came to pick up the vehicle. Attempted to set up an appointment to have a recall item addressed on my Suburban. The "fix" takes maybe an hour. Requested a specific time to bring the vehicle in and wanted to wait for the completion of the work. Was told they could set up a time, but could only guarantee that the vehicle would be out by the end of the day. This is not good service and particularly on a recall. Checked with another local Chevrolet dealer and got an appointment which would involve a two hour wait, which is acceptable. I would like to add, while I was leaving AutoNation a friend came out of the waiting area where he had been for 4 1/2 hours waiting for the same recall to his Silverado and an oil change. The service department were pretty understaffed on my particular visit. I would think that on a Saturday, when most people would be able to make time to have car service conducted, the dealership would have more than two maintanence workers in the service bay. I've been waiting for over two hours now for an oil change. All the while, several people have already come and gone. REVISION: SAME DAY Not only did it take nearly 2 and a half hours for them to complete a basic oil change, they left my drain plug out oil filter out of place and I spewed oil all afternoon. Upon returning home, I noticed an oil slick on the driveway and checked. They let me leave with my new truck of less than a year with oil leaking everywhere. I'm currently in a tow truck hauling back to the dealership to get this made right. Simply unacceptable. The BBB WILL be hearing from me come Monday morning. read more

Went online looking for a Chevrolet dealership to get my oil changed on my truck. Online price for oil change & Tire rotation is $59.99. Appointment window was down so I called the number they had. Apologized for online not working and set me up for a 1:00 app. When they were done, bill came to $79.15!! When I told cashier it was quoted @ $59.99, she just said it went up. I just checked the website, it is still $59.99!!! I call that false advertising. Guess the state attorney generals office needs to get involved. What a scam!!! read more

DO NOT BY ANY MEANS trust this service department with your vehicle. This is by far the WORST service department I have EVER dealt with in over 20 years. I have had numerous unsatisfactory service appointments with them on my 2013 Silverado 2500HD 6.6L Duramax. 10 December 2016 - Took vehicle for service appointment due to check engine light being on. OnStar remote diagnostics indicated a problem with the emissions system. It SAT AT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT for several days before it EVEN GOT LOOKED AT. Service advisor at AutoNation South (Victor Landa) informed me that it was likely due to having an aftermarket Banks air intake on the vehicle. I keep OEM parts in case the aftermarket cause issues. I asked if I could put the OEM part back on by myself to save a bit on labor costs, and was told no. $389 later, and 40 miles of the techs driving my truck to "make sure the problem was resolved," I get my vehicle back. Oh - and the vehicle was in for a total of 10 days. As I noted earlier, it didn't even get LOOKED AT for the first 3 or 4 days. I wasn't even OFFERED a loaner vehicle. I had to ask for one, and couldn't get one until about day 4. 24 January 2017 - Less than a month later, the check engine light is back on. OnStar remote diagnostics again indicates an emissions issue. I take it back in and see Victor again. This time, it's the DEF fluid heater. This one was covered by warranty. It required the removal and reinstallation of the DEF tank. A bit fishy that a month after the first service visit, a second service visit for an emissions issue is necessary. Fortunately this one was covered by warranty. As for a loaner vehicle, I was able to get one the same day, but only because someone brought one back early. 27 June 2017 - check engine light on again. OnStar remote diagnostics indicates an emissions issue yet again. AutoNation South couldn't get me in to see a diesel tech for over a week, because I refused to drop of the vehicle until it would actually be looked at or they could provide a loaner vehicle. Autonation North took the vehicle the same day, but as per usual with Autonation, no loaner vehicle was available. The problem this time was the indirect fuel injector. This was covered by special warranty from a recall. However, I was informed by the service tech (Dennis) that it also required a catalytic regeneration. I was charged $238 for the catalytic regeneration that was ONLY necessary because the indirect injector was faulty. I was informed that it was not covered by warranty because a catalytic regeneration is a routine service/maintenance issue. To this day, that does not make sense to me. If the faulty injector caused a dirty engine burn, requiring the catalytic regeneration to be performed to clear the diagnostic trouble code, shouldn't that be covered? But I digress. 7 October 2017 - routine maintenance. Vehicle was in for diesel oil service, vehicle inspection, and tire rotation. Service manager was Jason Wilson. When I returned to pick up the vehicle, the driver's information system stated "Service Tire Pressure Monitor System." I informed Jason, and he said that it would reset within a few miles of driving because of the oversized tires. OK - I've never had that happen before, but against my better judgement, I drove it home (about 7 miles). It didn't reset by the time I got home, so I looked online for info and found several mechanic forums indicating that on 2012 and newer models, a reset tool should be used to reset the TPMS sensors after a rotation. Back I go to the service department. I arrived about 3 minutes after closing, and found Jason as he was closing up. He looked at it for less than five minutes, brought it back to me, and said that neither of their TPMS reset tools could find the sensors. I have taken my vehicle to AutoNation south for 4 oil changes and tire rotations in the 2 years I have lived here, and this is the FIRST time I have had this problem. While this is long, I do hope it helps to illustrate the general incompetence, unethical business practices, and poor customer service that is FREQUENTLY encountered with this business. I would sooner drive my vehicle to San Antonio than go here again. It is a pity that AutoNation has a virtual monopoly on GM Service Departments in Corpus Christi. There is no incentive for them to improve their quality of service, because anyone who wants GM "Certified" service would have to drive over an hour to find another option. read more

Then they attempted to charge me $975 for an alternator that worked fine on the way to the shop before they could diagnose the actual problem I brought the truck in for. The alternator itself runs about $100 online or $170ish from a parts store. And it is a 1 hour job (if your working insanely slow) Just to put the price gouging into perspective for those that don't know. read more

I came from San Antonio to buy my 2013 jeep from Andrew and from start to finish it was fast and quick getting into my jeep and he did an amazing job!!!.... now the headache the drive door wasn't opening with the key and the led lights that were installed were not working so I was told to come back on a Saturday to have all items fixed!!! So early Saturday morning I wake up and drive the 2 1/2 hours to get these items fixed I get to the dealership and they drive my jeep to get the items fixed!!!.. but now him guess what all they can fixes the door the technician does not work on LED lights if I had known that I would have requested they network to have my door fixed at the autonation in San Antonio!!!.... So when I get back to San Antonio I have my led lights looked at to see what it would cost to get them going so 1200 bucks later I had to have the whole system re-wired because it was a fire hazard!!!!... I informed my salesman Andrew of this on monday 12/13/2021 and requested that a manager contact me to discuss these issues and here I am on Wednesday still waiting... I made multiple attempts to reach out to Andrew and find out what was the status of the manager contacted me and all I get is that he's getting with the shortly!!! When I saw all the reviews of this location I figured I was getting a great deal and to be taken care of as a disabled veteran reviews and Integrity are always what I look at!!! Now just makes me think that if they can treat a disabled veteran like this how are they treat everybody else once they have your money they don't care!!! read more

Wow. The Service Department is terrible. I dropped off my car on Tuesday, 11/5/19. I called them the next afternoon to get an update because no one had called me. My service advisor told me my car would be ready Thursday. I got no call Thursday. I did not receive a call until Friday. This was only after the Customer Service Manager called me asking to buy my car and I complained that no one called me to inform me what was wrong with my car. My service advisor promised my car would be ready Saturday (today). Well it's Saturday and I have not received a call and the service department is closed. Worst customer service ever. I worked for another Chevy for seven years and this place is a joke. read more

Purchased a used vehicle here for my Mother, a Mercedes SUV. She never drove a nice car, so I thought a Mercedes would be a nice car for a 70 year old. She lives in another state, so I drove it awhile to test it out after purchase. I had a bad feeling about it after driving it to Austin and back, so I tried to return it under their 7 day 500 mile warranty. Since it was a little over 500 miles, they told me "no way" to the return. So I drove it to Austin again, and there it broke down. Had to tow it to the Mercedes Dealer and spent $1800 to fix it three weeks after purchase. Plus, the MB dealer told me the rear brakes were about 90% worn, and should have been replaced, but the Autonation Sales Department refused the repair before sale. Essentially they didn't want to spend the money to replace the brake pads before selling, sending it out the door in a dangerous condition. In addition, they put a bunch of used parts on it before sale, including the turbo. Long story short, because I had issues with the car, my Mom did not want it, so I drove it and took very good care of it for 4-5 months (the maintenance on a MB is crazy). On Black Friday, I tried to trade it in on a new Silverado at this dealership. I paid $14000 for the MB, they offered me $7500 in trade and not a penny more (KBB valued at $12000 at time / condition of trade). I called them a bunch of crooks and stormed out...they knew they had sold me a lemon and didn't want it back. Then when I drove off to leave, I see that the Check Engine light was on after the Used Car Manager "test drove" the car to get a trade value. I confronted them about that, and they denied it. I should have called the cops. Needless to say I will not be back to this or any other Autonation Dealership. I sent an e-mail to the Autonation CEO voicing my displeasure at my experience. She had one of her underlings call me. He was a US Regional manager and said the dealership should have taken the car back after purchase regardless of the 500 mile rule. Unfortunately, it was too late for him to do anything for me as I got rid of the SUV and bought a Ram Pickup (losing about $4000 in the process). I purchased three vehicles at Autonation Chevy in the last five years (me, my wife, and my mom) and I will not spend another dime there. The WORST place to bring your car. Will not buy another car from AutoNation because I do not want to deal with this place again. Been going here for 3 years. They take forever to get your car back to you. Minimum one week. Minimum. They have no sense of urgency. They sure do not understand the inconvenience of not having a vehicle and they don't care. On Thursday, March 16, 2017 I bought what I thought was a nice, used truck (2016 Silverado High Country - 6 speed) but it hasn't stopped making noises from the transmission. I live in Victoria so I took it to Atzenhoffer in Victoria 5 times but it still hasn't been fixed. I'm not going to blame, nor criticize, Atzenhoffer. Anyway, back to Auto Nation. The agent who sold the truck to me (I think his name is Jesus or Jesse) seemed nice enough. I drove off the lot, and about halfway to Victoria I noticed they had taken off the temporary license tag (the cardboard one), so now I was driving with no tag. Got home, called Jesus, asked if they could bring a tag to me. He said instead he would overnight it and I would receive it Friday morning. I was hesitant, but said okay. Waited till Friday noon, no package. I called, Jesus said it had been too late to overnight it Thursday evening and that he would send it Friday. Would've been nice for him to let me know when he discovered that Thursday evening! I waited till late Friday afternoon - still no package. I called him again, he said something about the delivery service being too busy due to the holiday (on St. Patrick's Day?), so I could expect it Monday. I'm thinking, what? No weekend delivery?) I asked him if I'm supposed to be driving it all weekend without a tag, and he said that's all he can do. Grr! So I wait until Monday. Oh... guess what? Still no package by noon, so I call Jesus. He was like "blah blah this, blah blah that, etc". I told him "Truth be told, YOU should have drove to my house to deliver that tag on Thursday evening.". He didn't respond to that comment but I'm sure he agreed. Long story short, I received it 8pm Monday. It's a nice truck, but the BS I've had to endure - Jesus and the noisy transmission - has really soured my the purchase and ownership of it. I see mostly negative reviews about AutoNation here in Yelp, so why is it that their website has mostly 4 1/2 to 5 star reviews? Sounds like they're focusing on publishing the cream of the crop. I'm giving them a 2-star rating, because that's what the purchase and customer service is worth. My opinion of Jesus (or Jesse) is that he doesn't give two shakes of a rat's tail about service after the sale. (Why did I wait 2 years to post a review? The automation Chevrolet in Corpus Christi it the worst dealership in regards to service and they are giving GM a horrible name. We have tried them a dozen times and each and every time they have sent the car out in worse condition then it went in. We now drive to Houston classic Chevy because we cannot trust the automation in corpus anymore. What is worse when you tell them about the issues they don't care. How can GM have a dealership like this in their system. They take advantage of the fact that they are the only dealership in the city. Please look into this so that we can have the service we expect from GM. read more
