Although my buying experience was excellent and I was able to purchase a car I absolutely love, the maintenance experience was horrible to say the least. I took my vehicle in for it's very first oil change at just over 5000 miles. While waiting for the services to be completed, the gentleman from the front desk brought me my air filter and stated the mechanic recommended replacement. Well, what do I know... I am just a woman. Which is what I think their mentality at this location is. He quoted me the price of the filter which I calculated after taxes and such I would pay around $40. I went to check out and had to pay over $70!! He failed to include the labor fee in his quote! Furthermore, and more disturbing, I was once again approached by the front personnel while waiting for completion of my services who stated the mechanic recommended a brake fluid flush at $179 (I am sure before labor fees)! With only 5000 on the vehicle! I refused this service and called Firestone to inquire of their recommendations and explain my situation. I then took my vehicle to Firestone on Everhart who promptly did a strip test on my brake fluid and assessed my used air filter. NEITHER needed replacing. Not sure how they try to cheat others, but they sure cheated me! Live and learn. I paid for the maintenance plan when I purchased my car, but after this experience I am VERY leery of continuing to use it! DO NOT USE MAZDA SERVICE DEPARTMENT! Especially if you are a woman!! Firestone was awesome, by the way! Pictures of the front and back of my air filter, as well as the strip test for my brake fluid are included in this review!

Roy T!!! You are the man!…read more I was searching for a C300 with specific features and found one 3 hours away. Roy and I handled all negotiations over phone, text, and email before I made the trip. When I purchased, there were no surprise fees or charges. What I really appreciated was being treated as an equal by Roy as well as the entire dealership. There are plenty of times where professionals will discuss with my husband even though I am the ultimate decision maker for my car. Minor details that could've been a hassle if it wasn't for Roy's communication, follow-through, and general professionalism: - The C300 had a few small paint chips from normal wear and tear. - The spoiler wasn't attached properly Solutions: Roy said he'd mail over a touch-up kit, and he did. He also advised me to take it to my local Mercedes dealership for warranty repair (I didnt have the time to wait for the service to be done same-day at Ed Hicks). I followed up with my local dealership and like roy said, it was covered under warranty and everything went smoothly. The whole experience was easy, honest, and pleasant. I'm planning to buy future cars from Roy

I regularly purchase vehicles out of state and rarely write reviews, but this experience stands out…read morefor the wrong reasons. I agreed to terms on a car and was ready to move forward. Instead, the dealership delayed the process on their end while "checking with other dealers" and handling things internally. During that time -- after several messages, a few phone calls, and multiple days of back-and-forth -- the car was sold to someone else. This wasn't a case of a last-minute competing buyer. It reflects a lack of deal control and a willingness to continue shopping a vehicle even after terms are agreed, without clearly communicating that to the buyer. At the level of purchasing a $90K+ vehicle in cash, there should be a much higher standard of professionalism, transparency, and follow-through. Instead, I was left in limbo while the dealership continued to pursue other options behind the scenes. The result was a complete waste of time and a breakdown in trust. If a dealership is not prepared to secure a vehicle once terms are agreed, that should be made explicitly clear upfront. Proceed with caution, and make sure you have explicit written confirmation that a vehicle is being held before assuming a deal is in place.

After dealing with my local dealership trying to get a fair price for the Subaru 10 year / 100K mile Gold Plus extended warrant I contacted Kelly O'Brien @ Hicks Family Subaru. He responded quickly and beat my local dealerships pricing by $500.00 . This was after my local dealership gave me " the rock bottom price " and " We're not making any money on this " per my local dealership. I want to thank Kelly O'Brien for being honest and fair on the pricing and I appreciated this greatly. If this dealerships sales and service team are as fair and honest as their finance department you can't go wrong buying a Subaru from Hicks Family Subaru. 5 stars and that says a lot when it comes to reviewing car dealerships. Thank you.

Plenty of people millng around, including customers who were there for service, along with employees who wouldn't make eye contact or say "Hi" as they swiftly walked by us on either the upper level floor or lower level of the showroom/service area. We got tired of standing around by ourselves, so I walked up to the only vehicle on the floor. I began to examine it as obviously as possible. I opened and closed doors and stood looking at the stuff under the liftgate. I bent over and looked deep inside to examine the glove compartment, the center armrest and the other aspects of the interior... still "nadda." They don't look as throughly at cars that cross the border as I did at this floor model. I walked over to the reception desk, the girl sitting behind it looked up with a blank expression and flatly asked if I wanted something. No greeting, no "Hi, welcome to... " I smiled and asked somewhat lighthearted (and perhaps a little sarcastically) if they sell cars here. She replied, "Yes, both new and used." Long pause... long lingering pause.... before I had to actually request to see a sales person, of which she admitted she had no idea where any of them were. She picked up her phone and made a request for a salesperson to come to the showroom. We waited... and waited... and waited even longer before turning around and looking to my wife. We'd had enough, and I announced (rather loudly) that we were leaving. No apologies from her, no effort to stop me or offer any assistance. My last words before exiting were, "I can't believe nobody wants to sell me a car here." We stopped on the lot for an obvious moment, and peered through the windows into several cars on the lot as we headed back to our car. No one came out there, aside from us. Guess which Subaru "Family" Dealership won't get our business in Corpus Christi, Hicks Family Subaru.

He does everything in a hurry. He does not care about anything but closing the deal. I had a trade in and I also put down $4000 down. I did not need the down payment. My monthly payment was still $600. Jonathan Lightfoot should focus on doing what is best for the buyer and not be overly concern with lining his own pocket. Jonathan Lightfoot is the reason car sales have a bad rap. I will never do business with them again. He did not try very hard to find me a better interest rate. He just wanted to close the deal.

The following day I wanted to test the windows again roll up and down and the back window again malfunctioned and came out out of its track and almost fell out of the window frame itself. I try to get a hold of the general manager and he has not responded to any of my messages, voicemails or calls. I am basically being ignored. There is a MALFUNCTION obviously with my back door window!!! I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau our local news and contacting legal advice.
