Well, if I could give a rating of zero that would be the highest I could endorse... My Crossfire broke down in Southern Pines on Memorial Day weekend 2024. Called AAA and they advised me that Auto Werks was AAA certified and would guarantee their work... so it was towed to that location. Now this was on Memorial Day weekend so I didn't expect to hear from anyone there until Tuesday but was surprised to hear from them on Saturday. I called them back and was told my car would not be repaired, and was told they didn't work on S*it like that and that it was junk and they didn't know of anyone that would work on it. So I had to have it towed off to a shop in Cary, NC that had it repaired in 1 day. What was just as upsetting was AAA endorsed these people which gives them a black eye also... read more

Although you have to go online to make an appointment 24 hours in advance, I was very pleased with the quality and efficiency of the repairs done on our VW Jetta whose ignition was locked. The mechanic was prompt and courteous when calling and texting and we will definitely bring our car there again for repairs. Highly recommend Autowerks. read more

Zero stars if possible. Very poor customer service. I asked how long my oil change would be and was told it will take all day. What is the point of setting up an appointment if it's going to take all day regardless. Due to Covid I wasn't allowed to wait and therefore just left. No solution was offered, they simply don't care. read more

I took my daughters Audi in just for an oil change and inspection.. upon picking it up I was told the rear breaks were almost "metal on metal" and that it needed new break pads and rotors to the tune of over $1,000. When I dropped it off we had never had an issue with the ac but as soon as we picked it up the ac no longer worked.. I took it back to them and they told me the compressor was bad and it needed a new one with a quote of 1472.00... As a single mother I could not afford to do either of these and bought a new compressor and parts to have my boyfriend install it. When he got under the car we discovered that the compressor had been UNPLUGGED! Now, this could have been a simple mistake done when they were doing the inspection maybe forgetting to plug it back in BUT I took the car back to them after calling to tell them that the ac stopped working since they serviced the car and they supposedly checked it over and found it needed a new compressor.. the compressor is fine and the ac works again after plugging it back in... the car also has perfect rotors and almost brand new break pads.. They clearly tried to take advantage of me thinking that I am a naive woman who would trust what they said and shell out 2400.00 for them to plug my compressor back in that they unplugged to begin with. So I'm in the Pinehurst Golf Resort parking lot ready to head back to Charleston. Transmission Failure!! @1515. 21 Hours later I'm on the road after John & Gary got new transmission pan airfreighted in and replaced. Offering zero stars for extremely poor telephone customer service from "Joe" at Autowerks. I was a potential new customer looking for ballpark pricing on a couple of service items that tend to be a little expensive. One was a simple transmission flush, the other installation of a door lock mechanism for which I already had purchased the part at a dealership in NH where my son once worked as a tech. I wanted to get two separate ball park estimates to see if I should make one appointment or break it down to two separate appointments. I also made the mistake of telling this rude person Joe, that my regular shop's tech was in the hospital and that the shop rarely had time for regular service let alone these other service issues so I was looking for a new place. That said you would gather I was looking for a new service shop wouldn't you? Once I said that this man got very defensive and said he couldn't and wouldn't give pricing over the phone since I didn't know the actual name of the part that needed to be installed and that I should drop my car off for a couple days for them to " look at it". And if that wasn't good enough then I should call someone else? What the heck? I tried to interrupt saying something like " let me finish" and he wouldn't let me get a word in and said " no ma'am let me finish" and continued to say he was not going to waste his time by give me arbitrary pricing and repeated that if I didn't like what he was saying I should go somewhere else. He definitely got out of bed on the wrong side and I'm sorry to say that he was the rudest, most chauvinistic man I have met since moving to NC 2 years ago. First off, Why would I be calling an auto repair shop if I knew the part names, secondly wouldn't you be a little more accommodating if you were on the verge of gaining a new customer and thirdly all I wanted was ballpark pricing. I'm not going to drop my only mode of transportation off for a couple days for him to come back with outrageous quotes that I couldn't afford. I need to know ahead of time if it's a few hundred, a few thousand? As I told this rude obnoxious man, I would never bring my car to Autowerks even if I was dying and they were the last place on earth. The sad part is that if my husband had called this rude man Joe would never had spoken to him in that manner. Rude, rude, chauvinist of a man. read more

Well the staff is very friendly but the work had to be redone elsewhere. I took in my 2014 Mercedes E-class with 30k miles on it to have tires mounted and an alignment completed. The directional tires were mounted backwards and the car still shook. I found a local tire shop to remount the tires and had a second alignment which fixed the problem. I'm not a fan of rework so maybe I'll make the drive to a dealership next time. I actually liked the convenience of this place being so close to Pinehurst. read more

Turnover has caused a great loss in service. I've had to discontinue using this establishment.

We just moved here from Colorado, are active duty military and heard so many great reviews, which obviesly are done by friends or employess. I have taken my 2009 SLK300 to this location, and all three times i got overcharged for not only services I did not ask for, but in the end was told a specific company to order a navi from, that they ended up not know how to install! I was in tears, as my husband is deployed and I have been overcharged for parts and labor before, as well as now am stuck with a Navi, that i have no idea where to get this installed now. My husband called them from Irak, and all we both got was lame excused, oh and a quote of between $300- $1100 for the installation! Furthermore, the owners, Chuck and Larrain, as well as Tony, the front desk person, really should retire. There comes a age and time when you should just call it quits, instead of supplying bad customer service all together. read more

Worst possible experience. They are either Incompetent, disingenuous, or ignorant that customers matter. I have brought vehicles to Autowerks for nearly 10 years- Land Rover, Volvo, Audi basically because there was no one else nearby. Recently I brought the Land Rover to them to have the battery replaced and asked for a full service and inspection. After only using the vehicle for like 36 hours our au pair, a very conscientious driver called and said something was wrong and she stopped the car in the middle of Southern Pines. When I arrived, I opened the hood to find the battery cover improperly seated and fuse box cover improperly seated. I could see right away they had problems putting the battery in because in doing so they completely separated the air intake from its mounts and the connection to the engine air intake. One could see where they pressed down on it while trying to put the battery in., in doing so they inadvertently disconnected the hose to the radiator causing water to leak out and air to enter the system. I had the vehicle towed back to the shop and explained what happened. They responded that they don't make mistakes and basically called me a liar and that they are not responsible for anything once a customer leaves the shop. Zero warranty, zero customer care and zero respect. Now note I am a mechanical engineer, I am am pretty handy with vehicles. I didn't change the battery because I had a hectic work schedule. I have brought this vehicle in for every single service possible. I regret that Autowerks has decided to stop standing by their work. They obviously do not care about their reputation or quality of work and I will no longer stand by them. read more
