It felt as though there was no flexibility or real effort to help, and the experience felt pushy and impersonal. It was unpleasant during an already less than ideal situation. The staff didn't offer any guidance or alternatives, and I left feeling like the only priority was making a sale. Definitely not the service I expected, and easily enough, I found another local mechanic for me who resolved the problem within 30 minutes for less than $100. Call around first before encountering a scenario like this.

I called ahead to see if they accept appointments, they do not. 2.) I brought my own oil and air filter for them to use on my oil change. Saved me around $35 off the cost of the service. Positives: 1.) Indoor and outdoor seating. I really appreciated the patio out back, it was cozy and spacious enough to not have to wear a mask and my kid could do her thing (never sit down or sit still). 2.) Clean, spa-like bathroom (I mean, who has clean and rolled wash clothes in lieu of paper towels). 3.) Coffee bar with a ton of options. 4.) They give you a complimentary car wash and if you don't use it that day, you can come back within 10 days to do so. 5.) The technician was extraordinarily polite. I had a few questions and he did a fine job answering them. 6.) They vacuumed the cesspool that is my backseat. Cesspool might be a bit dramatic, but I have a five year old...enough said. 1 Star -- Worst Experience Ever at Thomas Tire & Automotive (Southern Pines/Aberdeen)…read more This has been my third time coming back to this shop for the same problem, and I'm beyond done with their carelessness and lack of professionalism. First visit: I paid for an alignment and balance, but my truck still shook around 40 mph and the steering wheel was off-center. Second visit: I came back to have them redo it, but they said it was "too late in the day" and refused to do the alignment. Third visit (today): I brought it back again hoping they'd finally make it right. Instead, they took my truck for a drive without even asking my permission, and when they came back, there was a strong burnt brake smell. I quickly realized they had driven it with the parking brake still engaged. When I confronted the tech, he said my brakes were sticking -- which is completely false because the truck has brand new calipers and pads installed professionally. I told him the smell was clearly from the rear because the e-brake was left on, and he literally said, "It doesn't matter." That comment alone tells you everything about how little care they have for customers' vehicles. After all that, my alignment is still off, my truck still shakes at 40 mph, and my steering wheel is still crooked. I've now wasted three trips, time, and gas, and they still couldn't do the job right. I'll never bring my truck back here again, and I strongly recommend others avoid this location. I had just purchased a 2021 Hyundai Sonata 3 months prior to this visit and was taking it here to get the oil changed to protect my purchase. While there the mechanic notified me that in addition to the $50 I was quoted, it would be an extra charge of $10 for a different oil filter that my vehicle required. I agreed and paid the extra charges. Thinking everything was ok, I left and 3 days later I get a icon on my dashboard notifying the oil was low. After my husband opened the hood there was oil blown out everywhere and all the oil I had just paid for was now leaked out. After getting another mechanic, he stated they used the "wrong" filter in which I had paid an extra $10 for which caused it to leak out. I called numerous times to asking for the manager in which the name kept changing of who that was by the service rep that was answering the phone. I even called corporate and still haven't had anyone reach out to me regarding this error which could've caused significant damage to my vehicle. So I've basically paid twice for a oil change and never once spoke with anyone to get a refund. I will never go here again.

It took 3.5 hours. The fourth and final time, which is right now.... is now going on 3 hours after being told 10 minutes. I quit Wal Mart.... Amazon, Jiffy Lube, Lowe's, and Harris Teeter....will take a bit longer to get around, but at least I can keep my soul.

When I got the cal that it was done (sooner than I expected) I remembered that I was overdue for inspection and sheepishly asked if they can squeeze it in. She reminded that it's a busy day and they just didn't have time, I'd have to bring it in another day. Oh well, doesn't hurt to ask, right? Before I got a chance to pick up the car, I got a call from Connie, letting me know that the inspection was done! The best part is while Connie kept saying it's been a crazy day I would never have picked that up from her pleasant demeanor. Under promise, over deliver with a smile. Old fashioned values are never out of fashion.
