It's a beautiful Spring day and Connie somehow managed to make it even more beautiful. When I dropped my car off for an oil change she apologized that they were understaffed and running a bit behind. When I got the cal that it was done (sooner than I expected) I remembered that I was overdue for inspection and sheepishly asked if they can squeeze it in. She reminded that it's a busy day and they just didn't have time, I'd have to bring it in another day. Oh well, doesn't hurt to ask, right? Before I got a chance to pick up the car, I got a call from Connie, letting me know that the inspection was done! I brought my vehicle in due to an exhaust issue. While on the lift, Doug's Auto Center was courteous to do a complete inspection of the undercarriage. A couple items that might need future repair were brought to my attention but there was no pressure to get these repaired NOW. I was given prices for parts and labor on ALL items for my benefit should I ever chose to have the repairs made. I set up the appointment for the exhaust issue to be repaired, and the price quoted was the price paid. No hidden charges. I was contacted when the repair was completed so I could pick up my vehicle at my convenience. The car is a 2006 Hyundai Sonata, with over 10 years in New England and the pounding it gets from winter snow, salt and sand. And potholes. I will continue to do business at Doug's Auto Center. The lady at the front was incredibly kind and helpful. I was having a stressful day and I had never had a car issue with my Suzuki (Grand Vitara 2008) so I took my car in to an auto shop for the first time in a while. You see my tire had popped and I needed to get my spare on. The sensor for my tire broke and they had it on hand, quick and easy fix. I made no appointment and they had my car up in the next 15 minutes. They figured out what the issue with my car was and had it done in about in hour. The prices were good too! read more

As a new resident to North Carolina, I wanted to find a local shop that does not charge and arm and a leg for quality work. My search is over. I have taken my 1998 Honda Civic (167,000 miles) there for multiple issues and they have fix each problem. They offer a military/veteran discount which is excellent and they are very accommodating. When I was picking up my car for a timing issue, (which was fixed at no charge), they stayed open past normal business hours to allow me to pick up my car that same night. Great customer service and very knowledgable mechanics. I have already recommended this business to my co-workers and friends and would recommend to anyone that needed quality work done for an affordable price. read more

Couldn't have been more happy with my experience here. As an out of town visitor, I hit something underneath my car the night before I was supposed to drive back to VA. I saw something hanging down under the car and knew I had to have it worked on, so I found Doug's online and worried I might need to spend the whole day waiting for the car to be fixed and an unknown potential big expense. Next morning I called and was told to bring it right over. I went to get coffee while waiting for the diagnosos & by the time I got back, the car was out of the garage. Phillip was the guy at the desk-- he told me it was just a loose exhaust and to have a happy new year-- no cost since it took them only a few minutes. I was so amazed by Phillip's honesty and generosity. I could've really been taken for a ride by a dishonest shop. Thank you Phillip at Doug's Auto Center! I had a radiator replaced in my truck at Doug's 2 because Doug's 1 was too busy. I wanted to use a local shop and prefer not to use chains or dealerships because they typically overcharge. The were able to get it done same day despite not having an appointment. My only complaint was the price. Parts were about 75% marked up and labor was 1.5 hrs. Firestone on FBNC could have done it for $375 versus the $505 I paid at Doug's 2. I am willing to pay a little more to use local business but at that premium. I will keep looking for a mechanic. read more

I have an elderly (1998) foreign car that shows its age from time to time. I found Doug's Auto Center early on, and have relied on them ever since. When a problem arises, they figure it out, fix it, and charge a reasonable price, no matter how tricky it was. They're also very accommodating and kind. If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. Not a friendly business. Left my car there to have it checked out they kept my car for a week and charged me $250 to "fix" it however nothing was fixed. Also, one day they had my car it was pouring down rain happened to drive by the shop yard during that time and they had left all my windows down. They looked at me crazy when I stopped to ask if someone could roll them up. read more
