OUTSTANDING!!! I have a 2003 Jeep TJ with a 5-speed manual transmission. After hearing some…read morenoises, something broke and my drive train locked up. I figured I broke something in the transmission (judging from past experience with a different vehicle). Most transmission shops in the area refuse to touch a manual transmission. I went to see Mark at Cottman Transmission in New Castle. He showed no hesitation whatsoever. After we talked, he immediately dispatched a tow truck, at no charge, to pick up my vehicle (on a busy Friday) and had my Jeep in his shop within the hour. On Monday, he had determined that the problem was broken gears in the rear differential, and NOT in my transmission. This was good news! He gave me a very fair estimate, and I picked up my fully repaired Jeep on Wednesday after paying a few dollars UNDER the original estimate. In addition, he had checked out the rest of the drive train to ensure everything was in good shape. Overall, the service from Cottman Transmission in New Castle was excellent, and Mark was extremely professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and very responsive. Honest, reliable, and eager to serve a first time customer, I wouldn't hesitate to come back, and I highly recommend this shop. Lastly, I have a 1979 Jeep CJ-5 with a Chevy 350 in need of a new transmission, and I look forward to working with Mark to get it back on the road for the spring Jeep season!

I have been coming here for oil changes for a few years now and I have never had an issue, so this really caught me off guard and came out of left field. He had a major attitude from the get go. The only words out of my mouth to him that morning as I walked through the door were, "any way you could do an oil change today"? Right away he says, "no", and then angrily proceeds to remind me that the last time I was there for an oil change, they found a mechanical issue with my car but that I didn't let them fix it and I took it somewhere else for the repair. They wanted to charge me over $1K for the repair. I said, "yes, that's correct, but I have my own mechanic at my brother's gas station who does my car repairs and I had only brought my car in to you for an oil change, nothing else". He then proceeded to tell me that they are not a "lube shop" and to, "take my business somewhere else". I couldn't believe how curt and dismissive he was. Seems they only want to do an oil change if they can tack on a big repair bill to go along with it. If they don't want to do oil changes, then they shouldn't advertise that they do oil changes. I didn't ask them to look at my car for any mechanical issues, I only wanted an oil change. I could understand him being ticked IF I was having mechanical issues with my car and specifically brought it in to them to find the issue, and then after doing so, decided to take it elsewhere to have it repaired, but that is NOT the case. I only brought my car in for an oil change, nothing else. Very poor customer experience here.

I called Monday am , they had my car picked up in barley anytime at all . When the driver arrived he only needed my key and since the car was leaking coolant didn't even have to start it up . He handled the vehicle super professionally and probably has been the best tow service I have ever used .
