I fully expected to pay for that in addition to the cost of inspection. Apparently the wiring was loose so I was not charged. In today's environment that level of honesty is extraordinary. Communications contained my identifiers: my license plate next to my name, VIN, address, email, phone#, car make/model/mileage ... One was offering a "vehicle service history" on the behalf of M B Service Center, a service I did not request. The other was offering a subscription product. I requested the shop to have its affiliates delete my information, as I did not authorize its release. (This would include other affiliates who make use of the shop's customer information without showing up in a customer's email.) Judging by the reply, the shop does not have the ability or will to. Releasing customers' information for chain-reaction sharing is not a way to keep a customer's trust.
