The AC in my 2007 jeep stopped working. I went to Auto Zone and was going to buy some refrigerant to see if maybe that's all it needed. Before they would sell that to me they looked under the hood to see if the capacitor was working and unfortunately it wasn't. They could have just sold me the refrigerant and sent me on my way but they took the extra step. Very rare quality today. My car battery died. We started it again using jumper cable and drove to this Auto zone. The auto zone staff pushed a machine in front of my car and started to test it. And he said my battery is bad. He went back to store and found my info from the computer. He brought a new battery and installed for me right away. After that, he tested it again and make sure the alternator is good too. The whole thing didn't cost me anything because he said my old battery is still under 2 years warranty. I like his professional style. He is very straightforward, quick, no BS whole time. Not to upsell or anything like that. I bought an air filter from the same store before. A different staff put it into my car without charge. Buy my dealer told me they will charge me $15 labor fee to put the air filter. So that's the reason I never wanted to go back to my dealer. read more

My tire was completely flat and i frantically drove into auto zone, hoping someone could help me even though it was 4:30 on a Wednesday. I was saved by the nicest and most helpful employee named Buddy who explained what my problem was and put my spare tire on (for free). He told me where to go (since they didn't do what I needed to have done to my tire themselves), and I was on my way in 20 minutes. Buddy's kindness saved me from needing someone to come put a spare on for me or have my car towed to the car place I needed to go to. Auto Zone is awesome and so is Buddy. I'll admit that I'd totally forgotten when I had last changed my battery. I swore it couldn't have been over a year ago. So last night when we attempted to leave for a friend's house, I was stumped why the Jeep wouldn't start. Apparently me and my fiancé missed the 09/15 sticker sitting right there. I said a thousand prayers this morning and miraculously was able to go to my doctors appointment, and stop past Autozone after for a battery test. Sure enough, my battery was bad. Time for a replacement anyway. I just wanted to say that the guy that helped me, Zachary, was wonderful. I don't know a whole lot about cars, and sometimes get that "dumb lady" impression from service reps when I go in for maintenance or to buy something. I got none of that from Zachary. I've been a fan of AZ for many years. The crew at this station are really top notch. Superb on all levels. I'm always immediately greeted when I walk through their doors and if I ask for assistance on anything they are there for me. I never get the feeling I am "bothering" them, because they are professional and respectful. Check this out. I always go here for wiper blades, and, I can honestly say that I haven't changed my blades in years! Why? Because whomever waits on me here always volunteers to change them out for me. No joke. Tonight I went in and got the same stellar fabulous treatment. My tech was changing out my blades and another guy walks out to change out the opposite side. Store #: 3539 Mr Billy Hatton, I came to your store about 2 weeks ago with one goal in mind, to pull a starter out of my 2006 BMW 325i and get a new one in. I walked into the store to get a few tools that I needed to get the job done. Not the easiest task but it had to get done. I had a very friend and helpful member of your staff ring me up at the counter and I told him what I was doing. That staff member is Daniel Johnson. After he rang me up I went on my way about 100yds to where my car was parked. I rolled up my sleeves and went to work. When I finally got to the starter bolts I realized I was not going to get a socket to work on the back bolt, very difficult to get to. I went back to your store to get a special tool which, unfortunately, was not available. Daniel however, came over and offered his assistance. I was looking for an E-Torx ratcheting wrench (E16) which, according to Daniel, was a specialty tool BUT as a compromise he was able to get find a 7/16 ratcheting wrench which seem to do the trick. Again, a compromise to get the job done. Unfortunately I only needed one but I had to buy the set which had 6-7 wrenches, considering it a future investment. So once again I went on my way and I happen to mention to Daniel that I was working on my car at the corner of Conerwood and FM620. To my surprise, after I got there and started working again, Daniel pulled up to check up on me to see if I was doing okay. Talk about going above and beyond for a customer. He wanted to make sure the tool was doing the job. He went as far as to jump my car since after disconnecting the battery I accidentally shut the trunk. He saved me a trip home and back to grab my genius jumper. We spoke for some time and he stuck around until the final starter bolt came off. Mr. Hatton, when people think customer service they think service with a smile but sometimes customer service goes beyond that as it was in my case. Your staff member not only helped me find a tool that was comparable to the one I was looking for but also went as far as to stop by after his shift was over to make sure his tool recommendation was doing the job and on top of that was there to make sure it did the job. Overall, I would say that's customer service above and beyond and for that I am grateful and appreciative. Thank you Daniel. I got the old starter out and new one in. Sometimes, I think I set my self up to be ripped off. I know NOTHING about my car, or any car for that matter. So, when my check engine lights pops on, and my car starts making weird noises, I prepare for the worst, and hope they don't try to sell me something I don't need, cause I'll believe 'em! I am so so happy to say that I took my car to Auto Zone this afternoon and don't feel like I was fed ANY bs! Ben, was very nice and helpful. Checked my check engine light for free( I was told by an automotive repair place that they would charge me $90, not to fix anything, just to hook it up to the computer and see why the light was on!). He checks it and puts the codes into the computer and prints out the list of things that could possibly be causing the light to stay on. So, we start at the top of the list of 3 things and Ben goes back and forth and in and out of the store with me to show me exactly what he was talking about and exactly where in my engine it was. He told me how to check this fluid and how to change out this thermostat, etc. He explained EVERYTHING to me and mostly in terms that I understood! All in all, were still not 100% sure of the problem yet, but we were able to rule out most of the things and we at least have an idea of where to start. When I have daughters, I will require them to take some sort of automotive class in high school, like I wish I had. But, for myself I will feel confident from now on taking my car to AZ and know that they are not just trying to sell me something! read more

I've always had pleasant experiences here, but I wanted to share my most recent visit. I came in and had my battery checked because my car had been chugging at start up recently. I'm bummed I didn't get his name, but a nice guy came out and confirmed I needed a new one. I bought it and he installed it, but then my stupid car alarm started going off non-stop and I didn't have a remote (because years ago it just started going off randomly for no reason). Anyway, he and another (female) employee spent a good chunk of time researching and eventually fixing the problem. My left headlight went out over the weekend and I stopped into the store to get a replacement fuse. Sales associate, Rebecca, showed me where the fuses were located in the store. We started talking and she asked if I knew for certain if it was the fuse because it could also be that the light bulb had blown out. I told her I didn't know and she proceeded to walk out to my car to check the fuse box. Turns out, it wasn't the fuse but in order to check the light bulb, my battery had to be removed before you could get to the bulb. Rebecca went back inside the store and when she came out, she had her tools with her and started removing my battery. WOW! She then located and removed the burned out light bulb, replaced it with a new bulb and put my battery back into car. This lady went above and beyond customer service!! She could have just told me I needed to get the bulb checked out and sent me on my way but she took the time to address my issue. I have since told 3 people about my experience at this store and every person was amazed at the level of customer service and professionalism this young lady showed me. I walked out of that store with my $11 halogen bulb replaced and I will gladly be back in the future. read more

Went into Auto Zone to buy fuel injection cleaner and get wiper blades....The salesperson guy was so awesome! He put the wiper blades on for me...O'Reilly's did not have the one's I needed nor would they put them on....liability reasons! Come on! No clips were needed, conventional replacement! I mentioned to the salesperson at Auto Zone that had just replaced my air filter a couple of weeks ago and ordered an air cabin filter from Amazon and that I was going to look on YouTube and find a video on how to replace it myself...he showed me exactly how to do it and how easy it was! I dropped in here one Saturday afternoon after my battery died. The folks here were honest enough to recommend I at least check that my battery was under warranty where it was originally installed (at the Honda service center) rather than take my money for a new battery. One of the technicians here also then stayed out in the hot afternoon sun to help me jump-start my car so I could get to the Honda service center. That honesty and help has made me a fan. read more

I have a Mercedes which had a dead battery so I called Autozone and spoke with Richard. He told me that they not only had my type of battery in stock, but that he would hold one for me. I mentioned that my battery lies underneath a cabin air filter cover, as well as is connected via mounting bracket. He said no problem and that he would take a look at it. I jump started my car, headed down the street, and was promptly met by Richard at the front counter. He took a quick look at my battery and offered to test it first (even though I wanted to just replace it). It barely registered an acceptable voltage reading, so I had him install a new battery, to be safe. It only took him 10-15 mins and the new battery was installed, complete with terminal grease and pads. This included the removal and replacement of the air filter cover and mounting bracket! Superior customer service goes a long way these days. I highly recommend Richard at this Autozone for your car needs. Would have cost me $500 at the dealership for sure - I "only" spent $150 for the battery there! read more
