I visited this AutoZone around 11 a.m. today, possibly a little after, and the experience was very disappointing. From the moment I walked in, no one greeted me or acknowledged me. I spent time walking the aisles trying to figure out which product would be best for the odor coming through my car vents, but no one asked if I needed help or if I was finding everything okay. While I was in the store, one employee at the register stood watching me, but not in a way that felt helpful or welcoming. It felt more like I was being watched instead of assisted. At the front of the store, another employee, who may have been in a leadership role but I am not certain, was tossing an object in the air and acting in a way that came across as unprofessional in front of customers. When I finally walked up to the counter, no one greeted me. No one said hello, asked how I was doing, or asked whether I found everything okay. I had to speak first and ask how they were doing just to get any acknowledgment at all. The cashier, a short Black woman with curly hair in a red shirt, started scanning my items without saying anything to me. At that point, I said that I had a question. My question was directed to the employee at the front who had been tossing the object in the air. Instead of responding professionally or asking what I needed help with, he gave me a very rude and unwelcoming look. He did not say, "What is your question?" or "How can I help you?" The look on his face came across like I was bothering him just by asking. It was dismissive, unprofessional, and uncomfortable enough that I decided not to ask my question at all and simply said, "Never mind." What made the experience even more disappointing is that I have had better visits at this location before. There is another employee there, a tall Black man who has usually been helpful during past visits, but this time he did not offer any help either and seemed to go along with the same unprofessional atmosphere. It is unfortunate that the experience at this location seems to depend on who is working that day. Customer service should be consistent, and that was not the case during this visit. Because of how uncomfortable and unwelcome I felt, I chose to leave and take my business to O'Reilly Auto Parts instead. read more

He looked up from his phone and when I asked the question he seemed agitated, but I showed a picture and he just pointed at the wall and said 0w-20. Went there to get fuel system cleaner. 4 employees were there including the manager. 3 of them were "taking care" of a couple and the 4th one was on the phone. I stayed in the empty line for 20 mins, until I got tired of standing there. Needless to say, I went home empty handed and now my husband has to get it somewhere else when he gets off work. Bought a battery and they checked me out and were getting ready to install the battery when more customers came in. The man stopped helping me and then went to help the other customers, without telling me anything. I finally asked him why he wasn't putting the battery in and he said he had to help the other customers first. I told him I was ahead of all the customers that had come in and he told me I could come back in 4 hours. Luckily someone came back from lunch and was able to install the battery. I observed the assistant manager, Ashley, be indifferent to good customer service by her attitude and demeanor. With the store still busy, she promptly left for lunch and when another employee mentioned the busyness of the store, she told him there would be no way she could modify lunch times. I then observed her make a personal call (overheard her discussing her lunch plans) while she was still behind the counter. This has generally been a good store, however, it appears the leadership (not observed Ashley, not all leadership) does not put customers first and confuses good customer service with both personal need and good decision making when it comes to management of customers. As I call the lady answered the phone with the most lazy tone ever. I ask 'can I ask about a part.' she says "hold for me" held for about 10 minutes with no answer. Ive seen multiple reviews about this same incident. Y'all need to get better at answering the phone and helping customers who aren't there in store to see. read more

Staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. Walter the store manger is a really good guy and a super reliable resource. He is an excellent mechanic and not just a cashier. He has guided me on numerous car issues over the years and converted diagnostic trouble codes to correct part fixes. He even takes time to explain the installation process. He has saved me a lot of money by helping me do it myself. The AutoZone tool loan rental is also a great option to use. Highly recommended staff. read more

I needed a brake light for my 2012 Honda Odyssey, made the mistake of going to AutoZone on University to purchase it, when I went back in to buy another light.... The guy behind, the counter with ALL HIS EFFORT... NOT, did not help one bit. I walked out of there, literally maybe a minute later, same dude comes outside to smoke, and use his phone. They've hired some shitty ass people at the University location ..... I drove to the Palm Valley location , were people " actually" work and help customers . I would give the website a good score in the ordering online. When I arrived at the store things went from rude to comical with many of the stores customers laughing at what was happening. First off I prepaid for an order. So I had stuff to pickup. I needed a few other small things. I gathered my stuff. Went to the cashier stands by the door. NOT to the parts area where there was people. I have always checked out up front. Maybe that has changed. While I was up there waiting with another gentleman behind me some older gruff man came from parts area and barked at us stating for us to get over here in line like everyone else. Rude is nice way of putting it. We moved over. Did what we were told. :). Then we examined the sign for that line and just did not fit my needs as this was the parts counter, but ok. Still not a way to talk to customers. Low and behold when my turn I get this say gruff guy. Who turns out to by the "Parts Manager" by his name tag. If that was not surprising enough. It gets comical from here. I get up there and he obviously has not had too many online prepay orders and did not seem to pleased about it. The lady that helped him was very pleasant. He even dropped an f bomb while I was standing there with my son waiting for him to figure out the computer. Got that resolved and great it had been picked for him. Thank goodness or who knows what grief I would have gotten. Now get this. Parts Manager (PM): "this has been like this all day" Me: "like what" PM: "busy" Of course he looks and sounds pissed about it. Me: "isn't that a good thing" PM: gruffly "NO" Me: bewildered by this, "no, it isn't a good thing your store is busy?" PM: gruffly "NO" Me: "So it is not a good thing that the store is filled with customers buying things." PM: "No, I wanna go home" Me: "I am sure the company wants to make some money". He then turns to pointing out a guy named "tiny" and deflecting the conversation about something else. I finished my checkout and left. Not a thank you, kiss my butt, nothing, that I heard. Many customers behind me were laughing at this exchange but it really sad that the "Parts Manager" or any Manager can't think past his own personal situation and realize the store doing well is a good thing for him personally. Means you are selling a lot of parts and hey maybe some people would want to come back there for your said parts because your provided good parts along with good customers service. These guys are awesome! I had issues with my battery, Walter walked out with me and discovered that my battery connector box was broken and that my battery was also drained. He said to contact the dealership for the part because they didn't have it. I drove to Georgetown to the Ford dealership, bought the part, came back and Jesse installed the box and my new battery. I went in there with my girlfriend & during checkout, one worker got close to another to look at something, etc., & the other worker said "it's between adam & eve, not adam & steve." A part had to be ordered for my car. A hood lift for a Lexus. The part number given to me by Lexus. I never received a call from this store to pick up this part. When I did go by the store months later, and I did pay for it in advance. It was waiting for me. I asked them why I never received a call. The girl made a not so nice remark about her co worker who place the original order. She re orders the part and and I pay for it and she says she does not know when it will be in and will email me my receipt. She said they will call me. I never get a call. I call two weeks later and they say yes it's here. I come in a week later and am told it was returned to stock. I get a lecture about how it's my fault for not coming to pick up my paid part. Plus, they can't find my order in the computer anywhere. I show the guy my email and he orders the part again, and the next day he politely calls me on 4/27 am. I pick it up the evening of 4/27 and the girl who placed the order says she remembers me. She gets my order and I tell her I didn't order two hood lifts. Just one. She plays around on the computer and makes a call and then tells me I owe 41.99. I am pissed at this point as she says that's not what the computer says. She took my order! She issued me the receipt which I had to go back in my car and get my cell and pull up my email to show her. When I came back in the store she purposely ignored me an would not complete our transaction. She wouldn't even give me the opportunity to thank her for helping me for finding the right auto part. She was too busy being on the defense and treating a female customer in a predominant male store with such disrespect. Her response to me was after she saw my receipt " You can go now". No eye contact. No thank you, no apologies for the mix up. read more

Was there today, Sunday January 23, 2022. I hardly go here, only for convenience of being open. I go there to get a battery for my Brother-in-laws car. And since I was at the gym and Napa was not open. As I walk in with a heavy battery in hand, I see 2 employees there with their phone. No greeting from any of them. The Employee who ended up talking my order was rude. I pass him up from his counter and I tel him I need a battery for the car and set the battery in the floor to the right of him and tells me I need to II it in the cart that's to the left of him. The very cart I passed before communication was established. I make a comment " I wish you could've told me that before I put this battery down" he responds with "well there's another battery on the cart". I'm sorry, I didn't mean to disturb you from your social media on your phone. This place is getting worse. Service is no longer service and when you finally get one, you wishes you would've just waited for Napa. Don't know how this place stays open. I would stay away from this place. read more

I needed a new headlight assembly for my car. I came here to order the part and told the guy the specifications of my car so that he could get the right part as I was having trouble finding it anywhere else. I asked multiple times if he was sure that this was the correct part for my car and he said yes. I finally get the part about 4 days later and take my car to get fixed. While waiting at the dealership for my car, they inform me that it is the wrong part. Thanks to Autozone I wasted about 5 hours of my life between ordering the part, getting my car fixed, and having to return the part. Thankfully they gave me a full refund but they really need to update their system with the correct parts for the correct vehicles! read more

Went into the store to have the Check Engine Light looked at in my son's truck. It being a 1994 uses the old system OBD1. The employee I believe whose name is John went out with me. Showed me how to use the tool I purchased. Opened the same tool they have on the shelve for sale to access the owners Manuel in order to understand the tools function. He determined it was the Idle Air Control Solenoid. Sold me the correct part. Even installed it. And it fixed the issue. I tried to tip him a $100.00 bill! But he refused it and said sorry sir, but I can not except money from customers. As long as John is employed there, they will forever have all my business and I will spread the word to others. read more

I dont recommend this store at all. I waited over 20 minutes in line and no ever recognized me. Even after I put the merchandise back no one even tried to see what I wanted. Horrible customer service. The store was not busy. There was only one customer in front of me. I will never visit this store again. I set outside for about ten minutes to observe and realized everyone else who was coming in the store was receiving quick help. Normally I don't do bad reviews. Most of the times I rather to speak directly with the people and tell them why I'm not happy with their business or service. But this one happen 3 different times. They start with you and take calls and take care of people in the phone first making you wait until customer in the phone is done. Several minutes. They start with you and take another customer without having done with you, making you wait again. Start someone and finish it. Don't try to take on more customers until you finalize transaction. The people in the store may have an emergency like a car in the middle of the road. With all due respect the people in the phone can wait or you can return the call once people in the line is gone. read more

Needed a new battery. Thought it would be a simple fix by myself. Little did I know that the previous person to work on my battery had tightened the bolts on it until they almost broke, along with the corrosion from the battery I thought I was up the creek without a paddle. As I was working on it the new manager little to my knowledge was about to come help. Because of this man, James Dean, he saved me who knows how much in new parts and labor from either the dealership or some other repair shop. Because of James I will be back for anything I ever need and I will specifically look for him if I need help. James was seriously the life save of the day with tools that I was not able to bring or the help with the different techniques I did not know. He got the terminal off without breaking it and even managed to make it look better than it did coming off the lot. All while still managing his store. read more

If I could give this place negative stars, I would. There is no worse auto parts store on planet Earth, I dare any one to find a more pathetic excuse for a retail outlet. The workers here DO NOT give two damns about the customers. They will stand around shooting the shit while yo wait in line and when you try to ask for help, they will blatantly ignore you and walk away. One of the last times I was there, there were about 8 people waiting in line. The last person being an elderly lady with a cane. I had gone to return a bad rake switch and knew that 3 people in line means 20 to 30 minute wait guaranteed, thats not counting the other 10 to 30 waiting at the cashier lane for someone to acknowledge you so I left to go to Advance and Oreilly to get an odometer and some other parts. I go to both stores, take my time and then made a stop at Academy. I return to Autozone to see the elderly lady next in line leaning on a table in obvious discomfort. I was gone easily an hour and they were JUST GETTING TO HER. And they did not give a shit that there were like workers there and only 1 helping customers and that people were waiting these long lines. This is just one of my many horrible experiences I have had there. I stopped buying there a few years ago but taking their shit parts back for warranties forces me back and every time is pure hell. AVOID THIS STORE LIKE THE BLACK PLAGUE!!!!!!!! EDIT: I hesitantly returned here to get some windshield wipers because I couldnt see the road. Didnt want to drive all the way to Advance Auto with limited visibility. I was expecting the same old BS but was surprised how everyone was taking care of customers. I could not believe my eyes. There was an available employee at every station and everyone was conscious of people in line to get help and to pay and were letting customers at the register know they would be right with them. Before, they would just ignore you hoping you would just leave, no joke, I am dead serious as I witnessed this a number of times. I let the manager who checked me out that I was amazed at the 180 this place had made in customer service since the last time I was there. He let me know that people tell him this almost every day. I would not buy parts anywhere else. They will replace anything, without question, that is under warranty. I have never had a better experience with an auto parts store. I have never been given the wrong parts and the counter folks are very knowledgeable about just about every car made. I have and Auto Zone Rewards card that has save me hundreds of dollars over the years. They will test and replace batteries right in their parking lot and even read "Check Engine" lights for free. I've shopped them all . . . Pep Boys, O'Reilly, Vans, NAPA, etc. and none compare. You can even send a parts list from your computer, via their website, and have the stuff ready within minutes of going to the store. Don't bother to "shop around". Do your parts shopping at Auto Zone. read more
