After having some issues with my oil in my car, I needed some oil to hold it over until I could get in. I also needed a funnel to get the oil into my car. Not being a car person, I was able to order online easily and pick up within an hour at the store. The staff was ready for my order and check out was quick and easy! The staff were inviting and kind, parking was very much plentiful, and the store was clean and welcoming. So earlier in the day of Saturday April 24th I purchased brake pads, rotors, and calipers. It total with everything it came up to around $450 which I purchased in cash. Well a couple hours later when I finally make it to changing out the old parts in for the new parts I came to realize I didn't have the right tools to get the job done. So around 8:30 pm I called in the fridley auto zone and asked when are you open til, the response I got was 10 pm. I said perfect. I also asked if I'm allowed to return the products that I didnt use and was told yes. So I arrived to auto zone around 9. Dealt with a friendly gentleman. Everything was going fine. He scanned all the items, checked my receipts, made sure the parts were all there and untouched. Everything was fine. Then he tells my brother and me he has to get his manager to sign off on the return. After a minute or two the manager that was working. She came around the corner saying well it would be nice to know what the price of the return will be. The gentleman told her it was $444.88. She screamed "NO, NO, NO! I can't give a return for that amount. I just cleaned my cash registers and we don't have that amount in cash. You will need to go to Blaine for that." So then I replied and said "No shot, I paid in cash earlier for these parts so I know you have the cash in store." After going back and forth with her questioning if I was actually in the store earlier and the co worker of hers confirmed we were in the store earlier. She proceeded to realize she had the right amount in cash for the return. So after that the gentleman said she will assist you on that register and I said okay, thank you. When I switch to the other register she says and I quote, "Do you have a preference on how you'd like your receipt." For me to reply "No, im good." After my response she screams "Oh my god!" Swings the touch pad that reads the credit/debt cards around for her to press print receipt. I said to her after that "you could have specific you wanted me to select how I wanted the receipt, not just freaked out for no reason." She stayed quiet counted my money out, for her to hand me my change for the return for me to leave right after. That was the whole purpose I called was because I didn't want it being an issue of how late it was and for the return. That why I asked those two specific questions. No reason for her to be that b*tchy (excuse my language) to customers for absolutely no reason. read more

I haven't been to an auto parts store in like 15 years. Now that my son bought a used car, we of course had to visit because his battery died. So we walk in with our dead battery and were pleasantly greeted by 2 employees. They look up the cost for a replacement and it's like $175. Yikes! But they tell us that they test all the batteries first to ensure we're not being sold something we don't need. The battery ends up being fine. And we conclude our alternator is the culprit. Before we leave they offer to charge up our battery, free. We come back 2 hours later, pick up our charged battery and a receipt showing the diagnostics of the battery. THE BEST service of buying nothing! I can't wait for the car to break down again so I can go back! ;-) read more

I went to buy breakpads here today and witnessed very unprofessional behavior from a sales associate that was helping a different customer. The sales associate was berating the other customer for choosing to buy the cheapest breakpads that autozone sells for his car. The employee told that customer that he was putting his life and the life of his family in jeopardy by choosing the cheapest option. This is so rude and a desperate attempt at an up-sell. If the cheap breakpads are so dangerous then why does autozone sell them? Also know your audience, if someone wanted to spend more than $50 on breakpads they wouldn't be at autozone. I would have given 1 star but the sales associate who help me was pleasant and the online ordering process worked flawlessly. read more
