I worked with Brian Armstrong this time as my last sales consultant is no longer working at this location. I had a long list of must haves since I've become a Veloster conuseur over the last four years. Brian not only filled my wish list but exceeded my expectations by finding a Veloster even more top shelf then I knew was possible! I'm not easy when it comes to my ride, I expect perfection in a car and Brian was fun as well as made it happen. I've enjoyed every visit to Buerkle from service visits to just checking in to see what the new line of Veloster's coming in have to offer. Buerkle will be stuck with me for years and it's their fault for keeping me in awesome, problem free cars and treating me like a good friend when I am there! Purchased 2025 Tucson PHEV in May. When did you ever have to ask, "How is your HVAC system ESPECIALLY for floor boards. I documented and THIS DEALERSHIP didn't allow me to work directly with the technician. Compare that with Morries - I absolutely recommend them- where the technician was honest with me that Hyundai F'ed up (MY word) their PHEV HVAC system - that the floor heat is prioritied last - when outdoor is under 20 degrees and lower don't expect floor heat. WHO EVER THOUGHT WE NOW NEED TO ASK if the heat will work in the winter? To add more facts: dashboard heat was 60 degrees warmer than the floor when all heat is directed to feet only (logged over 2 months with a meat thermometer) - I brought all my testing to LUTHER and they said - hybrids are known for this. NO THEY ARE NOT! My Lexus worked great. Regardless, it is working as designed. Although I purchased the 10 year service plan, Luther had made the sale and post sale - if you don't fit into their troubleshooting flow chart - get the customer out the door. Why i am not happy with Luther is the ego - that nothing I said mattered. ON THE OTHERHAND, Morries totally cared and agreed with everything I said BUT EXPLAINED to me what the criteria he needed to prove so that corporate would assist us. We own 2 Hyundais and the other isn't PHEV and works great. We were up for purchasing a car but FOR SURE NOT WITH LUTHER dealerships and not a Hyundai. Luther dealership FAILED to be honest during the sale. The PHEV HVAC system is a known customer complaint. Luther would only follow their process - that it is working as designed - however it certainly doesn't meet Minnesota requirements. My previous car was a Lexus Hybrid and LOVED IT! The only reason I let it go is it wasn't tall enough when competing with semi trucks and SUVs. So my suggestions is if working with Hyundai be sire the HVAC system works and no to Luther bit a HUGE YES to Morries. read more

When you see someone is new to the car buying experience, take time and make it meaningful and you have a much better chance of having a repeating customer. It pains me to leave a one star rating as I wish it could be lower. I visited the showroom yesterday to ask questions about the new Santa Cruz. After walking through the dealership for ten minutes, literally from end to end to the other half dozen times, not a single employee engaged me or asked if I needed help. This was done to other people in the building upon arrival. Also, it was not busy as there were more employees than customers. Admittedly, I am a 60 year old guy wearing cargo shorts and a cammo fleece vest, so maybe I wasn't considered a serious customer. WORST (mf) experience being a first time Hyundai buyer. I purchased a brand new 2022 Sonata in the beginning of the YEAR and have had issue w it since day one. I am livid that it's October 2022 and I'm still having to visit the body shop because they can't seem to fix anything correctly (they've admitted and apologized). I was very kind and patient for several months, until Sarah (works at body shop) began to lie to my face. I had several incidents where she would guarantee and promise me things, but then wouldn't get back to me anymore. I'd call back after waiting several weeks and she would just continue to apologize... It's understandable if you're busy, but COMMUNICATE SOMETHING. I am glad Brian (body shop manager) has been a little helpful through this whole ordeal, but I am so tired that I've traded in the vehicle for a different dealership. Goodbye Hyundai read more

A representative named Tyler helped me and he provided 10/10 customer service experience but after that I received my diagnostic from Hyundai that a motor was bad and needed replacing. The quote was too much for me but I completely followed their word and had the part replaced elsewhere. I took the same car into a different Hyundai dealership and they found that it was just a blown fuse... how could they have missed something so simple and misdiagnosed so badly? Other than Tyler's great customer service the lack of expertise and extra spending of so much unnecessary money really ruined the whole experience. read more

I just seen that the first part of my review didn't post so I'll do it again. No lies or exaggerations. First, before you buy a Hyundai or Kia, go to the Facebook page "Engine Failure Kia/Hyundai" and read the horror stories. I have a 2018 Elantra and the engine failed without warning. I had purchased the prepaid maintenance plan through Hyundai that covered routine service up to 75,000 miles. After the first 2 or 3 bad services from where I purchased the car from I started going to Buerkle for about the next 60,000 miles. After that I had service done closer to home. Sometime after my visits to Buerkle during an oil change in town, the mechanic said I was low on oil and said it was common with these cars. I didn't think much of it until I was driving and heard a ticking noise. I pulled over to check the oil and there was nothing on the dipstick. No warning light or anything came on. From that point on I knew I would never buy another Hyundai and I continually had to add oil. Then out of the blue, my engine failed. I had it towed to a shop in town and they told me the engine failed and that they had replaced Hyundai engines before because of this issue. That made me research and I found out that there have been lawsuits for oil consumption and engine failure. I had it brought to Buerkle and I wasn't a jerk but I was firm that Hyundai was paying for this because it's their fault. That's when Adam Thompson got an attitude and said "Well, I'm going to need all of your service records then". I told him they are all on Carfax except for the services Buerkle did. They never reported them to Carfax but I told him that they should have a record of my services. He said " Oh yeah, I'm seeing gaps of 7 or 8 thousand miles. When we put that sticker on your windshield, it says to change it every 3750 miles" That's where he blamed me for poor service so I emailed him so that I would have a record of it that Hyundai's recommended interval is every 7500 miles and my prepaid plan doesn't cover earlier services. His attitude and comment put me over the edge at that point. He put me in touch with a case manager at Hyundai. The 1st "goodwill" offer was 50% and I turned it down. The 2nd and final was 70% and I turned it down. I wanted to know why the engine failed and where I was 30% at fault. I have yet to be told either. They wanted me to pay for the diagnostics but I said I'm not paying for something I didn't receive. I went to the BBB and they were worthless so I went to the Mn. Attorney General. All they got was the 70% offer back. I called John Chavez at Buerkle and said to get the ball rolling but that I wasn't signing anything saying that I was done trying to collect and I also wanted a transferable warranty. That was about early September. About 2 weeks later I got an email stating that my car was done and about 2 hours later I got another saying that it wasn't and they were waiting for a part. They said it would be about 2 weeks. 4 MONTHS LATER the car was done. During that time I didn't want to drive my old truck in the winter so we went out and bought our 3rd brand new reliable Honda. Now I have a $750 a month payment when I was hoping to be car payment free for a couple of years. When the car was ready at the end of January I didn't have the money anymore to cover my part of it. I picked it up Memorial Day weekend I believe. During that time I had emailed John Chavez and he tried to diffuse the situation with salesman talk about how he fights for his customers but ultimately the final word is Hyundai's. They didn't fight for me. I had to fight Hyundai. All they did is what Hyundai said. I wasn't satisfied so I wrote to Juston the General Manager. Again no help just talk. They're nice to you when you're writing a check and everything is going their way but beyond that, you won't win. This has cost me thousands out of pocket for something that wasn't my fault. The history of lawsuits and engine failures exactly like mine should tell you that. Buerkle calls a 70% "goodwill" offer very generous. I told Hyundai that a goodwill would have been to not KNOWINGLY SELL ME A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT! Because of the years of history Hyundai has with this problem I can't stress KNOWINGLY enough. On the Facebook page "Engine Failure Kia/Hyundai, the advice that is given the most to people thinking about buying one or what to do after having theirs fixed is RUN AWAY! The company is not worth dealing with. I would like to also mention that my case manager had mentioned a loaner car but I wanted to play nice and I had my truck to drive. Never again will I try to be nice to a business. Buerkle never once in the almost 1 year they had my car made the offer of a loaner. I think I was being pretty fair with my 1 star review considering everything. Again, no lies or exaggerations. read more

They have you sign an arbitration agreement in your purchase papers which notifies you from suing them in court if you have any problems. It has constantly been breaking down one thing after another going wrong in and out of the dealership my 2012 Hyundai sonata hybrid is a lemon and the dealership told me there was nothing they would do for me this was from the manager himself. Make sure you purchase the warranty and do your research before purchasing from them. If you have major problems they will not care what happens to you. Watch out if you own a Hyudai Elantra - motor is junk and they have every excuse in the book to not fix it

Wanted to buy a new Palisade from them but they are charging $1,850.00 OVER sticker price (you can verify this on their website as of the date of this posting). I realize this covid mess has created a shortage, but to price gouge customers for extra profit is short sighted and proof that, if ever given the chance to overcharge you for something, this dealership will do exactly that to maximize profit at the customers expense. What will happen down the road if you need a part desperately? Will they overcharge you for that also if they can? There are several other dealers out there experiencing the same shortage who are NOT charging over MSRP even though they probably could get away with it for now. Before this covid mess, dealers would have been very happy to sell you a car for the full MSRP. I get supply and demand, and that is why you have to pay full sticker price but above and over that is pure greed. Could you imagine the big retailers marked up Toilet Paper $25 over full price when there was a shortage? They probably could have got away with it at the time but they had the wisdom and the foresight know better. In the end, I got a different Palisade ordered from another Hyundai dealer at full sticker price where the dealer and the customer are both happy. I can feel comfortable the dealer won't stick it to me down the road for whatever might come up, just because they can. "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me!" Move on to a different dealer if possible and reward the dealers who are doing the right thing. Remember they are still getting more money on the sale than they normally would have but they know where to draw the line. read more

Worse customer service ever. We walked in trying to look at the new Palisade. I was super serious in trying to lock in a deal and drive out with a new car. We walked into the lobby looking at the display car then went over to talk to the secretary who paged a sales person twice and finally Bob walked up to help us. Bob obviously look too mentally busy to provide further information about the car. Mind you this is my first experience at Hyundai and I'm stepping out of my comfort zone to give Hyundai a shot. But after what I felt was a negative blush off by Bob we left. I would never recommend this place to anyone who's never had any experience buying a Hyundai. My nine year old Santa Fe was sounding funny when I drove it down the highway. It just felt odd, so I knew something was not right. I had to get my 90 year old mom, who lives 200 miles away, to a few doctors appointments so I needed my reliable little SUV. When I went to Buerkle Hyundai for an oil change I told them it sounded and felt funny. They discovered it needed a ball joint replacement really badly. DONT BUY A HYUNDAI!!! This company doesn't make quality and will not honor warranty. We bought new from Buerkle both a 2006 Santa Fe and a 2013 Elantra. Unfortunately the Elantra engine failed at 98000 miles still under warranty of 120000. Because we could not produce oil change record for oil changes EVERY 3500 miles Hyundai or Buerkle wouldn't repair under warranty. The engine is definitely faulty as per multiple law suits and reports we found on web. We hoped as a loyal customer Buerkle would come through but they offered to fix for $11,000!!! I bought a new car last night! Honestly, this is what happens when I am full and in a good mood... Kyle and I go to a store of some kind, I look at something really nice, and then justify purchasing it.... Well I suppose I should say that this time, it was something that I actually needed and I didn't end up doing what Kyle wanted (which was of course buying an impractical car because it's "cute"). We stopped in here just to take a look at the 2012 Hyundai Accent, and honestly as someone who is very cautious about big purchases (like a car), I didn't know what I would come across while looking here... They didn't really have anything that I wanted as far as option packages go, and we ended up looking at the Veloster for a while. Well on the test drive of the Veloster, (which is a nice car, just not really for me), the saleswoman (Kristine Kehn) told me that they had literally just unloaded two new Accents in the backlot that day. So we pulled back there when we got back with the Veloster and I got out to take a look. It was LITERALLY the car that I had built on the website about two weeks ago. It was the Sedan Accent, GLS with the comfort package (power everything, alloys, upgraded stereo, ect) and it was LESS than what the website quoted me at! Took it out for a test drive and from start to finish I was in love with it. It is way tighter than my car, get's better mileage, and let's be honest it's just way cuter hahaha. We ended up talking financing or leasing and in the end (without honestly even thinking I was going to buy it) I signed all the paperwork last night and am picking up my freshly detailed and prepped 2012 Accent!!! This is my first new car purchase, as well as the first time leasing, so I am sure that I will be updating my review based on the service here... But honestly, from a sales perspective, Kristine didn't lie to me, didn't try to forcibly upsell me, and actually listened to what my needs were in a car. She was friendly, fast, efficient, and made this experience so worth while I am sure that once my lease is up I will either purchase this one, or get another one!!! Got my car detailed here and fluid ended up in my engine. I had to have it towed back to the dealership the next day. Additionally, my oil tank started leaking and my gas sensor got wet. I have never had any issue with my car before, yet they never once took blame for the issues to follow the same day that they had my car for a full detail. read more

I own a 2006 Hyundai Sonata I actually bought at the Superstore just north of Buerkle. Two weeks later Buerkle traded their Buick franchise for Superstore's Hyundai. I have been going to Buerkle for service since. They had a few issues at first I count as debugging but I am pretty happy overall. I do a lot of my own routine maintenance like oil and filter changes since I like to use synthetic oil. Time was when many places did not offer it but that has changed. I am turning 70 so I do a bit less. I just bought a 2012 Hyundai Accent SE at Buerkle and the sale went pretty satisfactory. I am happy with the car but I discovered the dirty little secret of THE IGNITION KEY. A duplicate key will cost me at least $55 due to the way the key is cut inside out. A warning in the owners manner as much as states that a non-Hyundai key may destroy the the vehicle! Had I known, my own fault for not asking during the sale negotiations, I may not have bought the Accent. read more

I have purchased 4 Hondas from Buerkle of Maplewood in the past years and now I have a Hyundai Genesis from them. The Service Department has never once failed to be representative of what superb customer service should be. I was all set on buying a car at Subaru White Bear Lake but the sales associate didn't seem like he wanted to work with us. Once we were on our way out and told him we were actually hoping to buy that day, all of sudden he was really motivated to help us out. A little too late. We ended up at Buerkle Hyundai and Jeff helped us out. I have to say, Jeff is the best car salesman I've ever worked with. Kind, not pushy at all, helpful, and willing to give you his time so that you can find the right car. The prices weren't showing up on the website for the cars we wanted to look at so we literally drove around the lot to find the cars we wanted in our price range. Jeff drove us around and showed us the cars. Jeff was honest: if he felt a car was overpriced, he would say it! I instantly trusted him because of that. Jeff never rushed us to make a decision. He gave us space when my wife and I needed to discuss which car to go with. When I asked Jeff about how they came up with the KB price, he told me to check www.carguru.com which tells you if you are overpaying for the vehicle. I checked the website and found that the car was overpriced by about $1,000. Jeff went to the back to see if I could get $1,000 off the vehicle. In the end, we were able to knock off $800 off the sticker price. I saved $800 because of Jeff! He was was a great guy and provided fantastic ​service! The car we bought was in great shape and the finance guy was a good dude as well. He didn't do any hard selling which I appreciated. Although Jeff was from the Hyundai office, they can also sell the Honda cars as well since both dealerships are owned by Buerkle (we ended with a 2012 Honda CR-V AWD). Overall experience was great. Worst dealership experience I've ever had. I purchased a 21 Tucson and it took 25 days before I actually had the vehicle in my possession due to a string of failures from Buerkle. First it took 3 days before the car was cleaned to take possession, but the detailing was awful so they took another 2 days to detail it, then delivered it. On delivery the car had a new dent, and the console was not seated correctly so they took it back. It took SIXTEEN days for the service department and body shop to fix my brand-new car! I made a few calls to check on the status, but every time they told me they would check and call me back, but I never received any return calls. When it was finally delivered again, the console was again not even installed correctly so they took it back yet AGAIN and then took another 3 days to fix it. At this point the general manager Juston had offered to throw in some WeatherTech floor mats and extra oil changes, and our salesman Michael said several times he would be sending a gift card to make up for the inconvenience - but none of those things were ever received - such terrible customer service. The last time the car was delivered the low tire pressure warning was on, the gas tank was not full, and my own carabiner keychain that I had put on the key fob had been replaced with a Buerkle keychain. I asked multiple times but my keychain was never returned...why the hell would someone at Buerkle take my keychain?!? It wasn't anything fancy, but the principle of them stealing it is just absurd. Absolutely the most frustrating and least professional vehicle purchase we've ever experienced. This was the second brand new vehicle we bought from Buerkle in less than two years (the first experience wasn't great either, but we thought it was a fluke...unfortunately we were wrong) - we will NEVER be a Buerkle customer again. read more

Went in to look at a new 2019 car , first looked outside for about 15 min , then went in stood and waited for one employee to get off the phone to be helped. Finally walked away didn't wanna keep waiting , I understand sometimes people get busy..I've been there. I proceeded to walk down the entire length of the building, it was 4pm on Saturday, there was literally 1 couple there besides me, PLENTY of staff talking with each other etc.....so I stand right next to the info counter. Finally I say "wow u guys getting close or what ? The woman replies oh no we don't close till 6. Not a .....have u been helped ? or can I help u ? So I walked out ....called St Cloud Hyundai...if anyone would have asked ,I was already pre approved, knew the exact car I wanted ,and had the down payment...I pick it up Monday in St Cloud. Don't bother going to this dealership, unless u enjoy wondering if ur invisible. Or maybe they are not used to women buying cars on their own. Lol read more

I bought a 2008 Hyundai Accent from Buerkle Hyundai in White Bear Lake, primarily for the warrantee that it offered...."well on paper it sounded great". Around 55,000 miles (well within the warrantee period) I began to experience very poor performance, lachk of power and engine sputtering issues, so I broughy my car in to see what was wrong. They reported back to me that I needed new coils and that since I had changed my own oil the cost of these new coils wouldn't be covered under the warantee and then proceeded to give me an estimate of $880.00 on top of the $118.00 I owed them for the diagnostics. Being a bit distraught about the $880.00 estimate, I told them I'd pay the $118.00 for the diagnostics, but not to install the new coil system. Being a weekend do-it-yourselfer, I went to my local O'Reilly Auto Parts store and after a few minutes of discussion, I decied to pull the spark plugs for inspection, after O'Reilly's recommendation, and sure enough my #3 spark plug was fowled. Long story short, the Buerkly Huyndai dealership in White Bear Lake charged me $118.00 to diagnose what they said was the problem and topped it off with an $880.00 quote to fix the problem, when all it really needed was 1/2 hour of my time and $12.43 for 4 spark plugs. My car is now runiing as good as new!!!! How does the service department at Buerkle Hyundai in White Bear Lake sleep at night knowing how they are taking advantage of the general public. I will NEVER give this dealership one cent of my business and I'll go out of my way to discourage others from doing business with their service department, at least. read more

We just leased a 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe from Buerkle, Mike Holm is amazing, he took the time to educate us and help with all our needs he made us feel very comfortable.
