Entering is a bit confusing, the door to the shop is the the right of the gas station kiosk. I wasn't sure where I was going so I asked the women behind and the kiosk and she kindly helped me. My problem was that the gentleman who was doing the emissions tests wasn't wearing a mask and he was going in and out of the shop to get peoples keys and was in close proximity for payment. I'd had another auto guy tell me I needed new brakes, new transmission and engine mounts and a bunch of other repairs, so decided to get a quote a 'south street auto' Kevin the owner said I only needed brake bracket parts and cleaning, and something with the power steering but that my brakes were almost new and the engine looked great. I asked him to do everything on the car while I was there to make sure it was safe for my college aged son to drive and it all totaled $414. I saved a few thousand by coming here. I noted that every guy that came in was a 50-70 year old local who had obviously been taking their cars there for years. This is now my go-to auto place. Kevin could have told me anything was wrong with my car and I'd have no clue but he obviously runs a honest and extremely fair priced.

I called them a couple times and talked to them and explained that that was a bit excessive. After I did some research we could have had it done at the dealership for $200 less with a year warranty. They told me that the labor charge they go by a book. So another words if it takes them an hour and the book says up to 3 hours that is what you paying. they did mark the part up a bit too and knew they would. I believe honesty will keep people coming back. They just lost me as a customer and they lost a new customer that could have been going back. I like to support small businesses but not if they charge more then the dealer for a repair. They were nice talking to me, but overcharge. Honesty can go a long way. Is sad because they are a Costco recommended repair shop but not for me at those prices.

I need to warn others to be cautious with Firestone in Bloomfield. The service in the past year and…read morenow has declined significantly. My TPMS light kept coming on, and my brakes were squeaking when backing up and shaking when stopping. I first brought my car to Firestone in mid‑December 2025 for the TPMS issue, and they said they fixed the right front sensor. Over the Christmas/New Year holiday, the light came back on. I returned in January, and they claimed the issue was a loose sensor they had tightened. The following month, I went back again for the brake issue and asked them to recheck the TPMS. They told me only the rear brakes needed work and insisted the TPMS was fine. When I asked about the front brakes, I was told they were "tight" and didn't need replacement. A few weeks later, the TPMS light came back on yet again. I returned and specifically asked them to check all sensors. They said everything was fine. That same day, after driving on the highway, the light came back on. At that point, I no longer trusted their assessment. I went to another mechanic and didn't give any backstory--just asked for a full analysis. I paid $300 for the diagnostic. The verdict: additional TPMS sensors needed replacement, and my front brakes were stripped and urgently needed to be replaced. This was extremely frustrating because Firestone had told me the front brakes were "nice and tight" and that the TPMS system was fine. I ended up paying twice for issues they claimed to have fixed. I'm deeply disappointed and will no longer be taking my vehicles to Firestone. I advise others to be cautious.

He put it up on the lift. Found and tightened the loose bolt in 10 minutes, and I was on my way! Extremely satisfied customer. You will not find a more honest, talented mechanic.
