Employees here are pretty much as knowledgeable and useful as you'd expect a teenager fresh out of high school to be. I've brought multiple alternators under different occasions from different years, make and model vehicles. Each time they have a BS excuse as to why they can't test it. Two employees today were arguing about who would test my alternator because neither of them wanted to. Of course like always they weren't able to test it yet again. Meanwhile their supervisor standing over the counter oblivious to what's going on with her employees, was rude to the older customer next to me because she didn't know how to explain herself and the old man was having trouble understanding her. This manager what ever her name is , Is very rude and unprofessional I went in 2 weeks ago to get an OBD reading And I was giving the part number I needed to fix my check engine light. Turns out it was the wrong part number (o2 sensor) . So I went back in and this time they gave me a different one but I bought it at this store this time and I asked they what about if my check engine light comes on again for the same code Manger said "I'll exchange it or give you your money back" Now this o2 sensor is almost $300 So I was confident with what she said Now I went in today because the same code is popping up P1165 Which is the o2 sensor So I asked her I'm back again i guess This is the wrong sensor again She acted like she never saw me in your life And was saying I can't get an exchange or my Money back because I used the sensor now mind you this sensor has a 1 year warranty So how am I supposed to use the sensor without out using it in the car ???!!! Plus she's making excuses to not give me a refund Saying I need the box I need your receipt (knowing it's on there system) and I need the paper where we did the fix and finder report I had all of those things but still was acting dumb And then insultes me buy saying maybe you don't know how to turn of the check engine light !!!! My review is mainly because of the managers and the higher ups . I was parked at this establishment while my husband was buying wipers inside when I got hit by a car from behind and the car fled . I spoke to Isaac , Olga , Richard , Rachel and I believe the last person I spoke to was Debbie . I wanted the camera footage so I can submit a claim with my insurance and all they did was give me the run around, even after I explained that my three year old was in the car with me when it happened . I've seen so many businesses help out customers and non customers with providing footage , I don't know why Auto Zone made it impossible. I called this afternoon to find a coolant cap for my car and was told by Jose there was one in stock. I get there and the Hispanic older woman at the register barely even looked at me and was extremely rude! I told her what I needed she kept going back and forth with me about what car I had (as if I don't drive it everyday) only to find out that "Jose" heard wrong over the phone do they didn't have it. Not to mention there was barely any parking there because everybody is putting their cars together in the parking lot! Waste of my time and gas. This place is the pits if you have to come here because everyone in Wilmington is in here buying parts. Literally there freaking people fixing there own cars in the parking lot. There is never enough parking, shady people and very long lines that will keep you there for more than 20++ minutes. It started real good. Ask where I could find an electrical connector. A employee walk me over to them. But come time to pay only one person at the counter. Standing there with another customer waiting for the manager. Talking away. Two minutes go by along with 5 other employees. Working hard stocking, loading up delivery trucks. You would think they would help out the customers. There are now 3 of us waiting now. A forth person gets in line and the sale associate tells me to hold on and she checks out the guy at the end of the line. Then another guy shows up two minutes later and tells us to go over to another spot to pay. I get behind the guy that was at the end of the line and wait. Still trying to pay for what ever he got. This location is super busy. Every time I pass by and even every time I have been there they are tons of cars in the lot and the store is full of customers and staff. I needed to run in for some oil. Ran in, headed to the oil and was rang up quickly. Staff and managers are nice and willing to help you out. Only thing is that this store compared to other AutoZones seems smaller for some reason. Alma from Autozone on PCH and Island is the WORST in management. I went in for motor oil for my 192,000 mile car and she didn't have any recommendations for me, she said WHAT DO YOU NEED? YOU NEED TO TELL ME WHAT YOU NEED. I CANT RECOMMEND. Funny, because every other Autozone I've been to always turns their screen, shows me what the system shows for my car, and they always inform me about my high mileage. It's like my mileage didn't matter to her, she was just going to give me whatever so I could go. She also had an attitude and that's not even the worst part of it. I had to drive all the way back to Autozone, which was about 10 miles, just to get my refund but even that didn't go well. I asked for a manager and she said she was the manager. Then I asked for another associate because I don't trust her and I didn't feel like arguing. Worst Autozone ever, even Jose who was the one refunding my money was rude. They didn't want to hear me out on my problem, it felt like they were all trying to prove me wrong when I was just trying to get my refund for the damn oil. I could really go in on the details of the conversation that took place but I'll leave that for my corporate email on this situation. If Napa doesn't have the item I come here! I used to come on every time they had an oil change special but I always had to pay an extra $8 for my oil filter which wasn't much of a special in the end. I like that they have free tool rentals with a deposit. Which means I don't need to buy a tool I will only need once. I could give this place no stars if I could after the service I got.. We went up to the counter and asked if we can get some help and the "manager" Alex was his name came to "help" us... This place was not busy maybe 1 person in line at most!, so he asks us what we're looking for so we told him & as he's looking it up he continues to talk to his coworker ... He looks back at the computer and says "oh yeah looks like they have it" & my boyfriend and I both say "great do you have it in store?" And the manager ignores us turns around talking to his female coworker saying" oh I got a surprise for you" he kept talking to her and saying that repeatedly and we just stood there for about 5 minutes waiting for him to answer us.. We had to get a new battery for our car after having our car towed away by the city. The AutoZone staff were very courteous and helpful. One staff member named Darlene was able to get our old corroded battery out when the guys at the store couldn't!
