They sold me the wrong brake rotors so I returned it 1 hour later. It's opened but unused. I later learned that I paid $49.99 each (bought 2), but they refunded on $40.34 and$40.33. I came back to them and showed my email receipt of the purchase and refund. The manager there said he doesn't know what I'm showing him, even after scanning the UPC label of the receipt so that he can see it in details on his computer. When I arrived intending to replace a battery that went dead in a commercial garage where I left the car for two weeks. I was told to open my hood and someone would be right out to check the battery. In about five minutes a sales rep came, tested the battery and assured me it was in good shape and no replacement was necessary. Since then it has been fine. Saved me $200. read more

I came in here looking for sealant to fix a flat tire. Since I have never been schooled in the art of the tire sealant, I had a few understandable questions about a few brands. So, I accosted one of few Autozone attendants on the floor. When I approached him, I could see the "WTF do you want" look spread all over his face like butter on some angry toast. Undeterred, I asked my questions anyway. He gave me a response (although with a tinge of annoyance and abruptness). Long story short - If you know what you are looking for before you come into this spot and don't require much assistance, you are good to go. Everything you need is here. Lastnight (Sunday) at 8:15pm when my headlight went out I thought I was in for a long night. I'd have to go to a local mechanic and be ripped off and deal being called sweetie.... or wait until Monday and hope not to get a ticket on the drive home. I did a search and found Autozone 15 minutes away, we called they were open and had the headlight for a 1997 ford escort in stock. Boom! We went there and got it , the guys even helped us get the headlight in...which was a pain since it was dark out and we were all using our phones to see. Devin was hilarious and charming, and super helpful along with a few other people who's name tags I didn't read. read more

Popped it back in my car. Nothing. They didn't even charge it! They wasted my time and it cost me $20 to get there and back. Never again here. Went somewhere else. This place is terrible. Okay I thought about my review a little bit more and I started to feel bad. I realized that what I was experiencing was probably a combination of lack of training and the inability of the staff member to prioritize and multi-task. I also reconsidered that maybe the staff member was just having a bad day, like maybe her dog died, or her kids were bitching at her for something. Anyway, I went into the store the other night to buy a few things, and the staff once again were pretty inept, but friendly. The guy who helped me had someone call in while he was helping me, he put the person on the phone on hold, finished helping me, which took like 5 minutes. The staff guy then picked up the phone, but the other person had already hung up. The whole time there was another staff member chillin in between two aisles in the back area eating street meat. I shared a laugh with the guy who was helping me. He was laughing at the customer who had called in. I was laughing because that person on the phone was probably super pissed like I was the other night and in the process of writing a negative Yelp review. read more

Despite this place being located in the middle of a "War Zone" - I have some really positive things to say about this place. No joke - Their is a gib guy who walks around the store with a revolver on his belt. He's really cool, friendly and helpful. This place usually has the parts that I need and if they don't, they'll order it for you. I've bought an axle part, oil, oil filter, washer fluid, windshield wipers, air filter, shocks, fabric cleaner, light bulbs, fuses, and fuel injector. I always recommend calling ahead to see if they've got a part before driving there. It's around the corner from my mechanic, so when I need to pick something up, it's very convenient. The store is clean and organized. They always have several stuff members, which keeps the wait time down. I've been to a lot of AutoZones because of my old car and I like this one. read more

I went in to get my battery checked. A completely free service that they offer (you can google it, Autozone offers free battery checks) I've been through this before back in Florida with an old car of mine. A worker in FL came out with a little machine, popped my hood and checked it and that was that. Well. Not here! The people here are running scams out the front. A worker from the inside said they were gonna charge me to check my battery and then referred me to one of the 4 guys standing out front (who very clearly didn't work there) and then the worker went back inside. The guy who didn't work there proceeded to tell me he was gonna take my entire battery out of my car to charge it. He then told me he was also gonna charge me $20. None of that is necessary when all I needed was my battery checked. I quickly realized what was going on and drove to another Autozone where they checked my battery with the little machine without having to gut my battery out of my car and for free. That guy honestly would have ruined my car if I didn't know what needed to be done to it already. Should be illegal. read more

I called twice this afternoon. To the exec's it is your Saturday team. Whomever is there at 6pm both refused to assist me with auto parts after asking them kindly for a side view mirror. Auto zone, Autozone, Autozone. I could begin and end this review by stating this Autozone is just like every other Autozone I've ever been to, but that wouldn't be fair to people who've actually had positive experiences at other locations. I arrived with the goal of finally doing a few minor overdue projects on my car. Project 1- purchasing coolant. Now this totally wasn't Autozone's fault. I went in seek of R12 without knowing that the manufacturer purposely only made this available through the dealer. However, when the worker (after I'd been waiting forever) flippantly told me without asking for my car model, to just pick up the universal coolant as though the online blogs hadn't scared me straight from ever considering this, I knew it was a bad look. Thankfully I ignored the advice. Project#2- Replace one of my lights. I waited on line and a worker looked up my car to get the model number of the correct bulb. I purchased it and went on my way. This would have been fine if this bulb actually fit my car. Now this was not the fault of the worker, but rather the computer system, so the fact that I didn't realize something was wrong until I got home and settled in to change the bulb was not frustrating (enter frown here). What annoyed me was the return process. I return to the store, brought the actual bulb from my car and matched it to a new bulb that looked identical. I patiently waited on line, explained what happened and expected to exchange the wrong bulb (per the Autozone system) with the correct bulb that I found. Sounds easy enough. After waiting on a long line, a worker tells me to go to another line since it's a return. My thoughts are, "Ok, no problem, this happens". I wait on the new line, get to the front, explain the situation, the woman repeats 2 times -"so the system told you the wrong light?"- to which I reply "yes" thinking that a note will be made so that no other owner of my same model car will need to deal with this inaccuracy and waste their time or some Autozone car part database guy in headquarters can fix the system. Instead I am never asked for my car model or which is the true bulb number. I get a receipt with the credited amount and get sent to the front (original cashier) to pay for the new, correct bulb with this paper. Huh? Are people not cross trained here to do return and purchase transactions? Does it help to keep inaccuracies in the system leading to lots of returns? I don't know. I personally hate inefficiencies. Clearly this makes sense to some. My recommendation when possible is to bring the actual part needed to ensure that it matches with the computer generated recommended part. read more

Bought a new battery from here and installed it myself but couldn't get the terminals clamps right enough so pulled into parking lot and helpful attendant tightened it for me. Ok you have not lived yet until you actually go to this autozone. I went there for wipers, which they have and also offer to do the replacement for you. After I purchase the wipers the guy you was suppose to help said he can't because he is not good at it and actually hurt himself trying to change wipers. He suggested that I talk to the manger who is really good at it. He asked me to wait first while he helps other people which I did for about 15 minutes, not bad then he walked outside to help a customer check their battery. I walked outside as well and when he was done asked home if he could help put the new wiper , forgot to mention it was only one wiper. After i asked, he got angry and in a West Indian accent ( Trinidadian is my guess) He screamed " this is easy boy , all you got to do is open hear and snap it in" I said but I don't know how to take the old one out, Then he said " Google it" and walked into the store. So I went and got the first guy to come and try, and he succeeded, he said he was new and admitted that the manager was very unprofessional. NEVER GOING THERE AGAIN, you just don't offer a service and then ask customers to google things period. Awful service, the manager needs to be retrained for replaced. read more

The store is fine. A little slow but it has what you need. The problem is the people hanging around the store insisting that they need to do this and that to your car. These people seem to fail to understand that I am at autozone because I can handle the car myself. I declined "service" to put air in my tire and right after I got a flat tire from a nail. I do not think it was a coincidence because I was lectured about my tire looking low even though I said I was perfectly capable of taking care of my own car. I think they were pissed I didn't want their help and put them nail there when I went into the store. So if you need something and want to go here I'd walk not drive. read more

The Autozone parking lot was filthy, covered in trash and loitered by sketchy people asking about car repair needs. I asked for someone to take it out, and the girl behind the counter said the guy that can is on lunch, and i dont think the other guy knows how too. But if you want you can borrow some tools and do it yourself. I didnt think the small girl could even pick up a battery. Didnt want to risk battery dying otw home, so i did. Took about a hour for the charge, while i watched so called mechanics, with no jobs, try to help people in the lot. A diffrent lady, im thinking a manager took me to the back, made me carry my own battery upfront, and after putting it back in, i was on my way. All this to say, Nothing special. read more

I went to this autozone at 7:30 this morning, the door was open and all the lights on. The sign on the door also states that they open at 7:30am. I walked in and made it about 30 feet into the store before an employee yells "excuse me..what are you doing in here?" I was clearly confused and told her that i needed to purchase a battery. Her response was "well you need to get out of my store, I'm not open we don't open until 8." I told her that the door was open and the sign says 7:30. Apparently she just walked in the door and didn't have a cash register open, also no other employees were there by opening. I told her that she needs to learn about customer service and proceeded to go purchase my battery from their competitor a few blocks away where I got awesome service and no BS attitude. read more

I had made a purchase at this location two days earlier, however, my "check engine" light came on and I returned on 4/23/15 to have the store personnel perform the franchise's "free diagnostic". When I walked into the store and walked up to the counter, the male employee behind the cash register/parts computer looked at me as though he was thinking "Oh no, not another customer who's paying my salary !". My previous comment was completely validated, when I asked this employee if I could have someone perform a diagnostic on my vehicle due to the "Check Engine" light, and after disappearing into the AutoZone Black Hole, he returned robotically stating "Our machine is broken". So, I calmly asked "when will it be fixed so i could return with my vehicle". The employee's response was "I don't know when it'll be fixed" as he turned his head forward and stared into the blank computer screen, completely dismissing me ! It didn't help my experience when a 2nd male employee emerged from the previously mentioned "Black Hole", literally danced past his lifeless coworker and sung in a high pitched voice " The machine is broke, the machine is broke !" A 3rd female employee walked by on the opposite side of me and lazily snarled "Don't you get, the machine ain't working'. I walked away shocked and traumatized thinking "no one is going to believe me when I tell them what happened, but I'm going to try and save another customer from experiencing AutoZone Hell" I did ask the 1st employee as I walked out the store " Isn't the diagnostic machine you use, the same machine you sell", he said "yes". I said "do you have any of these machines in stock". He said "yes". I said " well, why don't you open up a new machine and do what you advertise to customers". I of course received no answer. This location had a reasonable amount of oils, fluids and other consumable parts in stock, including car batteries. The online store did not reflect what they had in stock... in my case was a good thing because they actually had the transmission fluid I needed which was listed as not available when checkin the stock of the online store. I don't know if the same can be said for auto parts. Service is extremely slow, assistance is non existent. There are people loitering outside which is annoying, while that could instead be turned into a positive thing if they were "sanctioned" by AZ and were there to help customers. As it is now one doesn't know what to make of them. And definitely do not help convey a good image about AZ's shop. A smart entrepreneur/manager would turn that into an asset, having those people hired at least on a minimum wage (so they won't harass customers demanding $10 tips). This would allow Autozone to help customers who need a quick job done like replace a headlight bulb, a plate mounting, windshield wiper, a custom accessory, etc. Such services will be especially valuable for the inexperienced who may not know how to change an air filter as well as for the ladies who will not need to get their hands dirty or wait for their man to replace a blown fuse. ;) Not to mention that it will remove the annoyance of parking lot loiters turning them into AZ customer service representatives! All in all, it should be evident that not only this will help AZ to sell more parts since now AZ would be providing a hassle-free quick help for replacement of many of the items sold but would cost near to nothing as the increase in revenue should offset the expenditure for the service. And as it will cost nothing to the customer (although a non-mandatory, but appreciated tip slogan can always be posted on a sign in the parking lot where "Pitstop" help personnel would work) it will also bring more shoppers as news spread. Not to mention that will remove the annoyance of loiters on the storefront while, at the same time, bringing up the reputation of the chain/branch as it relates to offering valuable services! A no brainer Win/Win! Wouldn't you agree? ;) Having "Pitstop" personnel available to help customers on site, would be definitely far more beneficial than having 5 cashiers who work as slow as they possibly can. An inefficient workforce not only is a wasteful burden on company finances as the company is not getting their money worth, but it is actually harmful to the overall company revenues as well as reputation! Moving customers slowly will upset them and an upset customer is a lost one. Shoppers who are patiently and endlessly waiting to simply pay for their items will get tired to stand in line due to sloth-like attitude of the cashiers and therefore they will leave the merchandise they just picked up and walk away. This is just one of the harmful effects of inefficient service, another one is that those customers who just entered the store will leave even before picking up anything as they see a rather short line not moving at all and figuring out that's what they will have to go through just to pay for their merchandise, they will leave to go shop elsewhere. Mind you, that's no speculation, it comes from direct observation of facts. The problem of inefficient customer service will consequentially create a loss of sales in all cases. First there is the quite damaging loss (of revenue and reputation) due to non-returning customers, then there is the loss of sales volume due to slow processing of customers' payments as slower processing will directly translate into lower number of items sold per day as there is only so much time in a day (that's simple math!;)) My advice to the Autozone regional sales manager would be to monitor closely personnel and branch managers. Remove inefficient ones and replace them with people who actually give a damn, can work efficiently, treat the courteously, and assist them without being pushy. Removing inefficiency will increase sales while lowering expenses. You do not need 5 cashier that need 20 min to let 15 customers pay! Three efficient cashiers should manage processing 15 payments in 5~10 min tops! Now with the money saved on just one of those inefficient cashiers the branch could hire 3 of those outside "Pitstop" help representatives mentioned above placing them on the books with a min wage and shared tips!
