The shop claims he needed brake pads, ball joints and a plethora of other stuff, and ended up failing the inspection charging him the full $37. They then told him to replace the parts and ensure he passes the inspection the next time would cost around $1,000 for them to do. This is literally the best mechanic shop I've ever been to! My battery kept dying and I brought it to them to take a look at it and Mario went and got some seltzer water and cleaned the charge points around my battery, charged it and it started right up without a problem. And he didn't charge me. Today, almost a year or so later I stopped by because the new tires I purchased elsewhere were off balance and causing the car to shudder every time I went above 50. Gary told me that the tires would still be under warrantee with the shop I purchased them and to bring my car there for them to fix it for free rather than pay the shop to do it. That seems entirely unheard of in the auto repair industry. These guys are a breathe of fresh air, honest and decent people! NIGHTMARE experience with this auto shop. They messed up my transmission, berated me, hung up on me, and refused to take fault. The story: My truck was driving fine, but the check engine light turned on and so I took it to Mario to get it checked out. He diagnosed the issue and quoted me for a broken motor mount and serviced it (changed oil and checked levels of transmission fluid)...The quote seemed a little high, so I paid for the service and oil change and diagnostic fee, and shopped around elsewhere over the next 2-3 weeks, in which time, the truck began to drive terribly--not shifting correctly into gear, etc. When I found another auto repair shop to take it to, he said that the transmission fluid was overfilled by TWO QUARTS essentially flooding the transmission. He replaced the motor mounts and drained the fluid to the right level, but when I got the truck back, I drove it for a day before the transmission BLEW COMPLETELY. Because Mario was the only one to look at the transmission fluid before the car started to act up, and the other mechanic recorded the high levels, it had to have been Mario's mistake. Now my car is totaled and I'm out thousands of dollars. When I confronted Mario over the phone, he berated me and then hung up on me. I will be talking to the DMV, BBB, and lawyers. Please be warned about this shop. This is no way for a neighborhood business to operate. read more

Keep yourself safe, don't go to Mario's. My tires were replaced but the wheels weren't screwed back on, very dangerous and Mario refused to take responsibility. Several days after picking up my car I noticed a noise and checked the lugs and they were completely loose--like, so loose I could screw them with my fingers. It got progressively worse as I drove back to the shop and I thought I was going to lose the wheels. I asked for a refund -- just for the service fee related to the tire change. When Mario said no I pointed out that it put me in a dangerous situation. His answer? "That's karma" and then he walked away. I don't know if he was suggesting that I did something previously to deserve not having my wheels screwed on, or that there was something so bad about asking to not pay for a service that wasn't done correctly, that I'd be punished for it later...either way, Mario didn't take responsibility. I'm not precious about my car or out to gouge anyone but I don't think I should have to pay for service that obviously wasn't done right, especially when it puts me in danger. My engine light came on and Mario's was able to get me in for an appointment within a couple days. Mario diagnosed the issue in front of me (solenoid valve replacement) and told me I'd get my car back the next day, which was perfect, because I needed to use it that weekend. The replacement valve ended up being delayed in arriving but Mario was generous enough to stay an extra hour after closing to make the repair for me so I could get my car back in time. He even texted a few days later to make sure everything was working well and the light hadn't come back on. Also his daughters, who run the office, were both so welcoming and kind. Save yourself some time and go straight to Mario. I have a 20 year old Audi A4 that I have taken to several mechanics in and outside of the city. I've had a LOT of work done by MANY different mechanics. This experience truly stood out. What I can say about Mario: he's thorough, professional, honest, affordable, and his attention to detail is 100%. I can say the same for his team! This is the kind of auto repair place you always imagined didn't exist. Went there to do an oil change. Found out my car should (ideally) be using synthetic. This is after years of getting traditional oil changes. More affordable to use than synthetic over time. Mario explained to me why this was a good idea and pointers on how to monitor the oil use. I left my car and got a text message when the work was done. When I showed up, he told me that the wheel bearings needed to get looked at. Not something I could ignore if I was planning to take a long drive, but around town for a little while is ok. Mario and his team took a look at it and had them replaced / fixed the next day. The price was on-point and I felt really good about spending the money @ Mario's. For those of you with fixer-upper cars, this is something that almost never happens. He also followed up via text after I picked up the car to make sure everything was working ok. Good to get that check-up! I had an emergency car repair that needed to be done and being new to the area I didn't know where to go. I had an appointment that I had to make it a day and there was no way that I could drive my car in it's current shape (I needed a new muffler). Despite dropping the car off and needing it in a day , Mario said "Bring it in!" I got the car back in time and now I can see the new shiny muffler installed and the car feels great. Dropped my car after the battery died. The battery was replaced for $275. Once I got the car backed I noticed my radio and back up camera longer worked and the screen remained blank. I immediately informed Mario and of course he insisted he did not do anything to cause this issue. I took the car to the original installer of the radio and was informed after running test the radio blew out when the battery was replaced. Now I'm out $1200 smh. read more

Got the run around and upcharging bait and switch from the Meineke across the street (why post offers on your website when you don't honor them, or why take appointments if you don't honor the time?).
