I've had mixed experiences here but it was close and a passer by was nice enough to give me a 2nd jump. I called the store. I told them the problem. They were expecting me and had a bay ready. A free diagnostic was done and I definitely needed a new battery. I wasn't given price options, just one for $200 installed. Within 15 min it was installed and I was back on my way. I am immuno surpressed and waited outside. Everyone had masks on which made me feel better. I was thirsty and was pleasantly surprised u could buy drinks or snacks without walking far. I took my Diet Coke and was only 1-2 way through when the car was done. Dara as the person who answered my call and let the service team know to expect me. I showed up and they said we can't do the inspection because we are too busy. Why make appointments if you can't an accommodate the appointment. So I had to rush around and find a shop to do a last minute inspection. After 4 shops Mavis on woodbourne rd did me a solid! Thank God for the friendly and accommodating employees at Mavis!

The price was adjusted upward 400% from comparable parts but I paid it because I needed it. 3. I drove 20 miles to pick it up only to discover that it was broken with a golf ball sized part of the box missing, still apparently worth 400% markup. My sales person was Brian Meddings. Do not use this person who works on markup and made good money on my part, but refused to have it overnighted to my location and made me call him several times to get status on this item. 4. The part was broken and my two week waiting period flushed.

If it was said once, fine I expect some level of sexism when I buy replacement parts for my car, But it was said multiple times. Its 2017, not 1957, a woman can fix her own car, but then again Queen Elizabeth II was a mechanic during WW2 so any level of sexism in a retail location is unacceptable. I probably will not be shopping at this location again. Sexism aside, Tom was polite and found the correct bulb for me. He asked if he could see my car to just quickly visually check to make sure it was the right shape. My entire visit took less then 10 minutes. This was also sent to Advance Auto Parts directly.

How about this? $80 for a quart of transmission fluid !! It took 2 "ace" mechanics to figure out…read morethat my simple old 1997 Dodge van was down a quart. Wouldn't that be the 1st, easy thing to check? No. It took 2 test drives: 1st with this "helper mechanic" who couldn't diagnose it; 2nd, the real Ace. Oh- While I was waiting for the "ace genius," I asked the helper/ mechanic to borrow a special screwdriver to replace a taillight. The guy tried to pull off the lens without unscrewing the other 2 of 4 visible screws. Good thing I was standing there to tell him or he would've broken it. Very basic. In all fairness, AFTER a test drive, the helper mechanic checked the trans dip stick, but didn't know that the engine should be running, in neutral. - this info is actually stamped on the dip stick. "Ace" had to show him this. "Ace" defended that helper didn't know about the trans dip stick bec the helper drives a jeep and it's different from a simple old dodge. Oh wait, isn't that the point?
