The Gulf Team saved the day and did so in such a welcoming manner. On my way into work, I got a nail in my tire. Without an appointment, I went to Gulf to have them assess if it could be plugged. They immediately took my car in and plugged the tire in a matter of minutes. Price was absolutely reasonable. Eric at the desk was very helpful and efficient. Also, met Eileen, the owner of this family owned gas station, and she was genuine and just remarkable. I am grateful for their service and highly recommend them. Not the cheapest place for gas but great service. They hustle right over if you pull up for full service and sometimes they'll clean your windows too. In a few instances I've stopped in to put air in my wife's tires and usually there's a kid around who will volunteer to do it for you. I haven't use their mechanic services but I've heard good things from a few of my neighbors and since the lots is always bustling, it's seems to be quite popular. I tried to set up a walk up car inspection a while back but they had a week and a half wait so it didn't work out. But based on what I know about this place it seems to be a solid choice. read more

Amazing people working at Steele's. And an amazing facility clean is selling them short. The waiting area and the service bays were pristine. I was in a bad way. I'd gotten a flat when I chanced upon Steele's. On an off chance that they might have time to fix ( I wasn't confident they were busy). I still had work to do and they took my vehicle in the bay and 1/2 an hour later I was on my way. The experience and the people put Steele's over the top. Perfect family run neighborhood service station. They care about their customers. Eilene in the front sets a fun and personable tone for the place. Her friendly personality is infectious. Just took my car in for inspection and it was completed in a timely manner including a phone call to let me know it was done. I have been using them for years and they're great. They basically had to rewired my car after a squirrel chewed my cars wires. Jim the mechanic who did the work did an awesome job. No problems when I got the car back. They came to my house one time when my battery died got the car started so I could drive it to their station. Another time I had to leave my car there all day and I was offered a ride to work if I needed one. They have been good to me. read more

They charge a 100% markup on their parts. They charge $16 per quart of synthetic oil as of time of this review. The filter kit that is needed for my vehicle is $40 when ordered through the dealer, they charged me $80. They charged me $208 for just oil and filter (not including labor) when I could have just bought from the dealer themselves at 1/2 the price. I went to them because I wanted to support a small business in my town, but if they are gonna rip people off I would just rather go to the dealer. At least there I get a courtesy vehicle. read more

Immediately, my car began making a rattling sound when accelerating. I panicked as I had to use that car to pick up family at the Philly airport. They were very kind to get my car up on the lift, identify the problem, and make sure it was safe for me to drive. STAY AWAY!!! Took my car in for an inspection. No big deal, car "supposedly" passed and I got my stickers. Great I thought... until the next morning when I'm driving down US 1 during rush hour morning commute and my breaks start making a horrible scraping noise. Almost crashed into a semi truck. Immediately drove back to the shop FUMING to see WTF these "mechanics" did to my car. Turns out everything was NOT fine and I needed a $600 repair for some support arm that was rusted and rotted. What a joke!!! I feel scammed and will never bring any of my cars near this sorry excuse for a repair shop. I could have been seriously injured or killed even because of these fools incompetence!! Not to mention the fact that the mechanic REAKED of alcohol when I brought the car back to them. Drunk incompetent wanna be mechanic can't even do a simple inspection. AVOID THESE CROOKS AT ALL COSTS!!! read more

STAY AWAY! We left the car to have snow tires put on. They called to say that they had broken the wheel lock key we left with them (necessary to get the tires off), to get the OK to use non-locking lug nuts. Then they said that two of the snow tires had excessive wear on one side and they would not mount them, although we hardly drove this car last winter. They said they would call back with pricing on two new snow tires. After waiting for this call for 45 minutes, we called them. Then they said that the summer tires that we already had on the car would not pass state inspection. We had the car inspected less than a month before and the tires were fine! Needless to say, at that point we knew we were dealing with swindlers and we said no thanks. To add larceny to deceit, when we picked the car up they had the audacity to CHARGE us for the non-locking lugs they had to put on when they put our summer tires back on because they BROKE the wheel lock key we gave them! On top of this, it snowed the next day, and my wife got stuck in the snow driving this car coming home from work. I had to go rescue her. We later learned from friends at work to avoid this place and use another service station nearby. Now you know too! read more

Stopped by this morning to Rick Steele's Gulf service station. The mechanic stopped what he was doing and assessed the air in the tires vs need for a tire. He explained the temperature changes and how it affects the air in the tire; he also taught me how to distinguish between a hole in the tire vs low air if I am driving in the highway. For people like me, who only love cars because they take us from point A to point B (no particular passion), this was a teaching moment and I really appreciate it. We have lived in the area for over 20 years and have used this garage on many occasions. They are always extremely nice and helpful! Today, I am finally leaving a review - my car's computer system flashed a scary message "low tire pressure!" I drove straight to Rick Steele's Gulf Station. I waited only a few minutes for the air in my tires to be adjusted and then was told "No charge". It was so generous and kind! And I was so grateful to be on my way again, driving safely! In the past, employees at this station brought gas to me when I ran out of it while driving nearby (with young children in the car). Again - so kind. We have also had State inspections done there sometimes. These are wonderful people - and they are way more than just a gas station! read more
