Two days before New Year's, heavy rain, horrendous traffic on the 101, and my check engine light comes on when I'm 130 miles from home. As if this day couldn't get any more stressful. Fortunately, the King City AutoZone was just a few miles out. They let me borrow a reader to plug into my car's OBD-II port, and after I handed the reader back, they pulled up the diagnostic information at the computer. The error code indicated a bad catalytic converter or O2 sensor, an issue that wouldn't prevent me from driving home safely. Phew! They even gave me an informative printout when I asked. This is a good-sized store with well-organized shelves and lots of parts stocked in the area behind the counter. Had I needed a common item or part, this place would've had me covered. This location is convenient for travelers in trouble as well as for local residents, and they open early and close reasonably late. I'm thankful for Google Maps and AutoZone, and next time I go on a road trip, I'll be sure to keep my own OBD-II reader in the car! read more

My car suddenly came up with a low-oil sign on a road trip despite having done an oil change a few weeks ago. Late on a Sunday evening, I did not have a lot of options and made a stop here. I was thankful that they were not far from where I was and right off the highway. The young gentleman who helped me was awesome!! Patiently listened to my situation, helped me locate what I was looking for, and even gave me a funnel for the oil top off. A fine employee indeed! read more

On my way north from LA to San Jose, the plastic undercarriage protector on my car was torn. When I finally pulled over the undercarriage was dragging and needed to be removed. The only place willing to help at 5 pm was a nice employee at AutoZone named Jose Louise (Cheech). He came out into the parking lot with a screw driver, shoved himself under my car, and tried his damnedest to remove the undercarriage. When he was unable to help, a random customer in the parking lot got in on the action, and together with my boyfriend managed to pry the thing off. I can't attest to AutoZone's parts or prices, but Jose Louise is one generous employee. read more

Big shout out to Charlie for coming out to help us change a flat tire! We just happened to already be in the parking lot to go to rite aid and when we started driving again our tire was flat! The lug nuts were not cooperating and the tire wasn't coming off so we needed some help and Charlie came out to do so. Finally managed to get it changed but boy were we lucky to get a flat tire where we did. read more

This was unbelievable. I don't know how this AutoZone has four stars. My husband went in there and bought some wax that said price cut and the girl over charged him and when he noticed after he walked outside he went back in and said hey you know I was overcharged for this. And the guy said no that's the right price and my husband said no the sign says price cut and I might add that the young lady as well as this young man were extremely rude and the young man went over to the wax where the sign was and it says price cut and he tells them well it turns out that you have to turn in a rebate which the sign didn't say and when he paid for it the young girl did not want to help or anything in the first place did not even bother to tell my husband that it's a rebate. So there's no paperwork no envelope know anything on the receipt that tells you that you get a rebate so basically they overcharged us or just did not want to adjust the price. My husband went in there and was trying to get help from the young lady to begin with and she was on the phone she didn't want to help him she told him to go to the other guy who was helping someone else and it was really aggravating so my husband just waited and then somebody else came in and she helped that person. We have an O'Reilly's it's just a little closer to our home but my husband was going to the market which is closer to the AutoZone. But I don't believe we will be going to that AutoZone anymore. Rude rude and triple rude. So mad right now at how rude and they're always rude they are never nice or helpful. I have never experienced such unprofessional and horrible customer service. read more
