I ordered about $500 worth of brake pads, rotors, spark plugs, an oil filter, and some other consumables for next day delivery through the app. I received an email the next day that my order was cancelled. For some reason, I was charged only for one of the items (front pads) and all the other items were canceled. I called customer service and both the original rep and then his supervisor were telling me it was my bank's fault. My bank said it couldn't be their fault since AutoZone successfully charged me for the one item they singled out on my order and that AutoZone would've had to split the transaction that way (one transaction for the one item, and another transaction for the remaining items that was cancelled on their end). I asked the supervisor if I could just reorder the remaining items through him over the phone and just pickup the parts at a local AutoZone store since the cancelled items wouldn't get to me in time if they were shipped as originally intended. So the supervisor made a cart of my remaining items and had it set to pickup from a local AutoZone and it was going to be over $100 more than what it should've been. The supervisor told me it was because the cheaper price I was expecting was for coupons/deals for online delivery orders only (as my original order was). So I asked him if he could just charge me the original price I was going to pay since I'm being inconvenienced by not receiving the parts when they were supposed to be delivered. He told me he could not do that. So either AutoZone supervisors are not given the authority to make custom transactions which would be a terrible business policy of AutoZone's (because what's the point of the supervisor then if they have no authority other than babysitting subordinates) or the supervisor just didn't want to work with me and make things right. After all, all the rep and supervisor did was redirect blame at my bank rather than take responsibility and genuinely apologize. So ultimately, my time was wasted trying to order from AutoZone and I've learned to either use Walmart, Advance Auto, RockAuto, and Amazon instead since I've never had a single issue like this from any of them and for orders much more expensive even and through the same bank (for which I ended up ordering all $500 worth of equivalent parts that were on this order from Advance Auto instead, and for in-store pickup, for only $6 more than what this order was from AutoZone for delivery only, and there were no bank issues and everything went smoothly through them). I'm going to speculate that the reason my original order was split into two transactions for one item I was charged for and the remaining items that were cancelled (for which two duplicate pending transactions are showing on my bank account for those remaining cancelled items of $436 which better go away because I'll be even more upset if I have to call my bank to cancel them) was since some or all of those items weren't really in-stock for next day delivery and rather than owning up to it an apologizing, they just cancelled the transaction and blamed my bank. Very shady business practices. They are now blocklisted by me. Not worth dumping time and money into them when I may spend slightly more money for a smooth and pleasurable buying experience elsewhere. read more

Although purchasing thousands of dollars in repair parts and tools for my project cars annually, I've reduced my transactions at AutoZone to nearly zero. One reason for this is that the company is no longer cost-competitive. Recently, I purchased some air-conditioning components for 300 dollars, that were priced at around 500 dollars at AutoZone. The out-of-whack pricing has been true almost universally, regardless of the type of equipment purchased. Another reason for my transition away from AutoZone has been their dysfunctional "loyalty rewards" program, which often bombards my inbox with deceptive "click-bait" such as "you have a 20-dollar reward expiring soon... log in to your account..." I fell for this once or twice, before realizing that these were apparently a phony marketing exercise. There were no "rewards" at the other end of the company's time-wasting scheme. The loyalty program is also prone to errors and appears to randomly deduct points from the account months before their expiration date. When shopping in the AutoZone stores, there are still employees that can be helpful. However, this can be hit-or-miss, and is highly dependent on location. read more

I looked up autozone online to order a new thermostat for my vehicle.. The website offered a $10 off coupon for in store pick up or delivery so I took advantage of it. The website said the order could not be placed for in store pick up with the coupon however, but it said delivery would be the next day, so I decided to go ahead and have it delivered. That evening I received an email that said the delivery would actually be 5 days later I immediately sent a letter to their customer service to question this. The next day I received another email notifying me the order was shipping and it would actually deliver 7 days later. I called their customer service when I was off work and was told that the wait time would be over 10 minutes due to heavy call volume. 26 minutes later they answered my call and I was told that the order had shipped, and they were unable to cancel the order. Now I will have to go into the store and pick up the parts that I need so that I can get my car running. When the parts that I ordered online eventually deliver, I can take them in for a refund. I screen shot the 10 dollar code so I will take that in to the store to see if they will really accept it or not. I recommend never using their website. read more

I will never use Auto zone ever again we own a business and use them alot and never have issues but when I use them as an individual customer they really showed their true colors of how they treat people as a lady individual buyer I called the Fairview Tennessee location last night cause I had a young lady with a small child break down in front of my house with no one to turn to and it was her fuel pump that had went out me trying to help her called Auto zone to get the part for my son to put on for her, they advise me of all the prices but said they couldnt have the part till the nxt day at 12:30 I ask them to please order it and ask if I needed to pay for it then and they advised me I could pay the next day I called back today at about 1:30 to see if the part had arrived and low and behold it was never ordered but that wasnt the worst part the guy Josh that I spoke with acted like I was lying he said well my manager said he doesnt recall you calling Im like are you kidding me Im giving him the 3 different prices I was quoted and the one that I chose what time it was how long I spoke to them and he just keeps saying hum umm hum well my manager doesnt remember anyone talking to you that just really humiliated me why would I call a random Auto Zone and act like I spoke to them so NOW I STILL AHVE THIS YOUNG LADY AND 2 YEAR OLD CHILD STRANDED and all they could say is well no one remembers talking to you read more

Normally I never have an issue with Auto Zone but last Saturday I did. I received an email that I had a 10 dollar reward that was going to vanish on July 31. I had to go to AutoZone to buy some items. So I go to the store on July 31. When I go to check out they tell me that I do not have a 10 dollar reward. Then the clerk would not give me the Military Discount. None of the items I purchased was on sale so should have gotten the Military Discount. One of the other workers had to step in to attempt to resolve the issue. All he did was use part of my 20 dollar reward from when I purchased over 20 dollars 5 times. Auto Zone commericial can and will not honor warranties and labor claims unless you quit spending 3k a week with them.

Attempted to play an order with AutoZone on July 7 2019. Looks like they were having website problems. Paid with paypal, order was sent to them then cancelled then resubmitted as pending. They never actually charged me, but they never submitted my order. It took a phone call and two days of waiting to find out what was going on. When I finally got in the site it said it would take over a week to get me the part, a couple days before it was going to be there the next day. Just needed a master cylinder, I went to a competitor and had the part within 24 hours. Ill take my business to the competitor in the future. Ordering from Autozone is to much work and time for me. read more
