I had called Sears and was ready to have my car towed but had to make an appt first. AAA offered to jump me and sell me a battery for JUSTover 125.00 ! While Triple A was here, I called around and found a better price at Auto Zone. AAA gave me a jump. Freddy installed my battery, I was out the door in no time saved over 40 bucks! I am still in shock! A couple weeks ago I purchased about $350 in parts from our local Boardman Ohio AUTO ZONE store when our '07 Ford Edge had an engine error code that indicated that the #1 cylinders ignition coil has failed. I purchased all 6 new coils and plugs, as recommended by the sales rep, but once installed I noticed the car was still having the same issue as before. After some research on the internet, I found that our year Ford Edge is notorious for having the coils failing which in turn, also, fry's the PCM. I went back to Auto Zone for a re-built PCM at that point, but they were unable to contact their vendor that re-builds the Ford brain's, and had to steer me elsewhere. Here is where the problem comes in, the companies that do re-build PCM's on our year Ford, will only give a warranty on them if you purchase the coils and plugs from them as well. This left me with the $350 in "Electronic" parts that I could not use. I told my wife, we can try to return them, but usually part store will not refund money on electrical part. Now, here is why I am still in SHOCK... When I went in to Auto Zone and explained the situation to the sales clerk and then asked if I could return the coils and plugs...he did! ...he refunded my credit card with no questions asked. That was AWESOME customer service! I was fully expecting to have to eat the $350, and vowel to never shop there again, but because they were so understanding and helpful, I actually found a new lifetime parts supplier! All 3 of our vehicles have over 100k miles, so even though this transaction may not be ideal for them today....I'll be back for sure! My thanks go to Auto Zone for doing the right thing in this situation. During the course of this not-so-pleasant Ford adventure, I dealt with 5 different Auto Zone sales guys including a manager. Traveling through the area from out of the state when check engine light came on. Called the local Chevy dealership for help. They said $79.95 diagnostic fee (just to plug the computer in) and will not be able to "schedule" until couple days later! Not their problem even if it may be something serious. So I pulled in to this Autozone and Raymond got to it in less than 3 minutes. Problem diagnosed, car serviced and back on the road in less than 15 minutes for less than $20 !!! Why is it when I need a battery it's cold and dreary out! Jump started my car and drove to it to the Autozone in Boardman, OH. (Across from the Boardman Administration building). The store clerk behind the counter could not have been more helpful! His name was Adam. He helped me determine what I wanted t pay verses what I needed. He even credited my Autozone customer account for the amount of the purchase before I could ask him to look my account up for me. Now the reason why I'm writing this review. I kind of cringed when I asked him if I could get someone to install it for me. Without a blink of an eye, he said "Sure!" grabbed his coat, a cart, my new battery and swapped out the old battery and installed the new one in a very efficient and thorough manner, out in the cold. The staff here - all of them - have always treated me with respect and have always gone above and beyond to help me!
