Stayed in Sedona (Village of Oak Creek) and son's hair was growing into a jungle. We got a reference to Monica to tame his hair. So glad. After we called to make the appointment, appreciated the text message appointment confirmations to our phone. Our son is picky, told Monica what he wanted. She went to work. She is thorough and quick. He wanted to keep it medium length, which is exactly what he got. Not too long, not too short. A ton of hair on the floor. The salon is in Rimrock which is one highway exit away from Sedona (Village of Oak Creek). About twenty minutes total drive for us. They are located on a small row of shops, plenty of parking. Rimrock is way more laid back and not nearly as busy as Sedona. Small pockets of business here and there. The salon itself was small but very nice. I personally love the smell of nail polish and a customer enjoyed a manicure in the salon. They also had a little shelf with snacks which is a wonderful touch. Our son is really glad he found this place. He saw other friends' haircuts in Sedona and did not think that would work for him. So glad we found Monica in Rimrock. I don't like having to call someone out and write such a bad review online, but this is definitely warranted. I booked an appointment with the owner - Autumn - based on a recommendation from my other stylist (at a different salon in Sedona) who was unavailable and was honest about when I asked if she could do ombre hair coloring (she didn't have the skills or experience). I had been growing out my natural, darker hair during the first 9 months of my pregnancy (photo below of me in the bright pink dress) and wanted to do something nice for myself before my first baby arrives for some self-pampering and to feel beautiful with a fresh "do". I loved my softer, warmer, healthier, darker blonde tones and had grown accustomed to it during my pregnancy. I thought ombre would be a really lovely color technique to brighten up my hair in a subtle way before baby arrives and I was SO excited when I found someone who SAID they could do ombre. Boy was I wrong. Autumn bleached the heck out of my hair that I spent 9 MONTHS growing out and did a horrible trim of my layers! This happened after we had THREE conversations about what I was looking for - over the phone when I booked the appointment, a week before the appointment when I stopped in to show her the photo of what I was wanting (photo is below from a website I found on google), and when I arrived for my appointment. She assured me she could do it and knew what she was doing. I let her know immediately when she was done that this wasn't what I wanted, and it was WAY more blonde than I wanted. She offered for me to come back the following week at no charge to "fix" it, but there is no fixing bleached hair and returning it back to your natural color - bleach is bleach. You have to wait months for it to grow back out. And, the damage to the hair is already done with blonde. There's no repairing that. I got home and was furious. I hated my hair so much, I went to go put it in a ponytail so I didn't have to look at it and then I discovered how much gloss stain was still on my skin around my face! (photo below) I requested a refund through her Square payment processing (got no response). I called a few days later. Her husband answers the phone, takes my message that I want a refund and that I don't trust her to come back to "fix" what she did. She said she would call me back. Autumn still hasn't called me back and it's been TWO WEEKS. I let my normal stylist know what happened and she felt horrible. She spoke with Autumn, and confirmed that Autumn said she would give me my money back. Well, that still hasn't happened. Who runs their business this way? Terrible customer service and grossly misleading. Never, ever say you can do something (ombre) when you clearly can't. Please think twice before supporting a business owner who does something like this, especially to a pregnant woman! read more

Love everything about this salon! Autumn the owner and stylist herself created such a warm and inviting atmosphere! Monica who is my stylist works magic and will always be there for you! Something comes up you don't anticipate and she does her best to work with you! Cheyenne the nail stylist truly is a stylist for your nails! So efficient and her pedi chair besides be comfortable is immaculate! She takes her "nails" seriously. Having surgery and mentioned to her the surgeon doesn't want color on my nails and she worked her wizard like magic and created the most natural French manicure! Hard to find a great nail service let alone a stylist and how blessed I am having found her. Doubly blessed to have Monica who keeps my hair looking fabulous! Autumn is the only person I trust with my hair. She took me from my natural dark brown to a beautiful blonde with very little, close to none, damage and has continued to help me maintain it for 3 years while also adding so many different fun colors! Just today we went full purple and I am OBSESSED with it. She also did my sons first haircut which I love so much. Autumn did an AMAZING job on my cut and blowout - but that was not what impressed me the most. I arrived early and was told I could take a seat next to the customer she was finishing up. She was styling an elderly woman. I watched as she took care to not only make this woman look and feel like a million bucks but to reassure her about her next appointment and then even called her ride for her. She went above and beyond to make sure this sweet lady was taken care of. The woman was beaming when Autumn was done with her - and she did look fantastic. I have been a satisfied client of Autumns for many years. I have gone to some of the more expensive salons in uptown Sedona and got fed up with the high prices, inability to get an appointment and marginal results. My hair has never looked better. My entire family has really thick long hair and Autumn is skilled to make our hair look amazing. I have two teenage daughters and Autumn is on top of the latest trends and accommodates all of our requests. I chose this salon for a polish change on fingers and toes, because it was closet to where I was staying on vacation. This was a mistake. When I got to the stage of picking out the color of the polish, the manicurist told me she could not do gel, because the light machine used to "set" the polish was broken. Moreover she did not have any plans to repair or replace it. This business cannot advertise themselves as a nail salon without providing gel polish. My resulting non-gel polish lasted two days only. Moreover the two hair stylists--one working on a hair cut client-- and the manicurist talked the whole time with a male friend who showed up. The conversation was rude because the topics completely excluded me and the other customer. The employees should have been conversing with the clients, not some friend, boyfriend ior neighboring busness person. The salon's ambience also needs a pick-me-up. I do not recommend this salon.
