I would rate zero if I could. We live in these apartments and management sucks!!! Our water faucet broke over the weekend and we called the "emergency " number and was forced to leave a message and didn't hear back from them til the following Monday and that's because I called again. Water would not stop running due to the faucet being broken so I had to turn off the main water source meaning it left me without water the entire weekend. I had to go stay at my mom's house and I have kids! Every time I request maintenance they take their time and they do a half a** job. Really unprofessional! Then they come up with outrageous rules for the pool, the patio oh and we are told not to feed the stray kittens. On top of all that those rules come with threats of eviction or $50 fees. They are so petty and ridiculous. I'm only here because I'm under a lease! Also, the laundry rooms don't always have both working machines, either one or another is broken. People get a notice about something almost every other month. So annoying!!! One more thing... every time they are requesting some documentation or some kind of fee it's always on a Friday literally 30 mins to an 1 hr to turn it in if not guess what? You pay penalties. I don't recommend this place at all!!!! Sheriff is always around these apartments. Almost seems like low income housing but are not!!!! read more

Update 8/30/17- New management has recently taken over and things are finally getting completed. This is a much needed change and I'm hoping things keep going in this new and better direction. I will keep updating this review as needed. I've been living here for 15 months now and since I came here last year I complained about the shower and bath as it had mold. Maintenance came and verified it was mold, removed the varnishing and treated the mold. 15 months later and my shower has yet to be revarnished. I have complained about this over ten times and each time I get told the same story and told it will be fixed and it never is! I was also told by maintenance that my floors that are falling apart and 7 years old needs to be replaced yet they still haven't done that either. My hallway light has also been out (changed light bulbs twice and it still didn't work so it's the fixture) and that hasn't been fixed either! This is getting ridiculous and I will not be renewing my lease and I'd better not be charged for these issues that have been ongoing for over a year and a half when I leave!!! First off this place has great customer service and people who want to help. Victoria was fantastic! My fiancé and I have never rented and this whole process is very new to us. He works all day so I've been on the look out for a place and I have had to deal with very frustrating people who just don't care and just are plain rude. It shouldn't have to be this difficult finding a place to live. My friend suggested Autumn Glen so I went and right off the bat they got things done and were so helpful and patient. For someone who has never been through this process I so appreciate the time they spent explaining things to me and getting us a place to live and it's a town home! I was a previous 10 here and left on very good terms with the manager. Now all of a sudden I receive a bill showing that I've been sent to collections for a past due amount. I tried to call the office today and nobody answered. I left a voicemail to request a return call. I am very concerned especially about their accounting practices. I will update if I hear back from them. I am exploring my legal options regarding this issue. read more

Honestly hate living here ac sucks told them to fix it they supposedly fixed it but I have my ac on 75 all day and it gets up to 83 degrees In my apartment so my pg&e is ridiculous AND HOT!!! They have to mandatory come in your apt every 2-3 months which is really annoying and inconvenient for pest control random bank and fire alarm inspections. Good luck trying to get ahold of the manger she never seems to answer the phone there "open hours of business" seem to be off since there always closed early or for 2-3 hour lunches so unprofessional. Only reason I live here so I could keep my dogs while I'm looking for a house. read more

The short: Turn and RUN not walk RUN away from this place! Here's a HUGE list of why...... The long: With a very short time over a weekend to find a place to move to from the west coast we bounced all over Bakersfield. There were very few places that either could show us a unit to view, were not in an area of town that had drug dealers on the corner, had residents telling us horror stories about push ins robberies and worse, or just simply had availability. When we came to Autumn Glen it looked clean and the office staff was super helpful. They spoke of how it was safe and nothing happened there. They showed us a unit and told us what was going to be available when we needed it and that it was going to be renovated. Great! Fast forward to moving in and everything was not as expected. Sure we had new carpet but there were things like old railings hanging off the wall or welds broken and rusted out. During the FIRST night while unpacking I heard a noise outside, but didn't think much of it because there is a pretty busy street out front plus neighbors all around us. The next morning we went out to the car and the window was broken on our car and it had been rummaged through. We contacted the office and reported it. After talking to a neighbor we were told never to park in the parking spot reserved for us because people break into cars. So parking spot is useless and you have to street park. The office claimed that they were going to be installing lights and cameras in the back, plus increasing security patrols. When we moved out 1 year later there were still no lights or cameras and I had NEVER seen the security patrol. Some of the neighbors were great and some of them were just simply trash. We had one who kept coming to our door asking for our internet password or to run an extension cord from our apartment to theirs because they got shut off. There were street fights fairly often, a few occasions of people driving through throwing bricks through car windows, homeless people knocking on doors, break ins both apartments and storage units, and I can't forget the 6 visits from the CPS and the police looking for previous tenants. On 3 different occasions stolen cars were dumped in the parking spots in the back which coincidentally we found out had a meth lab and dealer on the opposite side of the wall. Oh and lets not mention the speedway that is blocks away so you hear race cars until well after dark. Heard enough yet? If not how about some unqualified maintenance workers who rigged things to get them working. My lights in the bathroom flickered like something in a horror movie. After the workers looked at it they claimed it was because a neighbor must be running a vacuum or something I told the office I wanted an electrician to look at it. Sorry my neighbor is on their own circuit whatever they did wouldn't effect me. Come to find out the electrician found a cheap $2 electrical cord spliced into the line in the wall. The line had been arching and was taped up with paper masking tape!!!! The line was live and had a drain on it which meant it was going somewhere, but there was no telling where it went. After removal everything still worked in the unit so there's no telling. The electrician said it was a miracle we had not been burned to death. When we moved out we had to call for weeks to get our deposit returned and even then they took half of it for random things they claimed they had to fix even though they did a walk through when the apartment was empty and said everything was great. Taught us to rush into a decision just because we were on a clock. We should have done more homework. We have leasing a two bedroom apartment from Autumn Glen since March of 2015. We have been very happy with the pride they take in taking care of the property and its tenants'. Between the courteous staff and hardworking, prompt maintenance team the properties are well-maintained and clean. The gardeners keep the appearance tidy and regular pest control keeps bugs and critters out! When we decided to expand our family and look for a bigger place Autumn Glen Apartments were more than accommodating and helpful when we then decided to stay and transfer our lease to a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom. I came to autumn glen looking for a nice two bedroom for our growing family and was helped so much by Victoria. I got approved the same day and she gave me a great move in special. Everything in our apartment (townhouse) is brand new, and up to date. She knows me by name every time I come into the office which is very very personable. You aren't just a number or a room filled but they care about their tenants. Victoria has gone above and beyond for us and I couldn't ask for a better person to deal with for all of our living concerns. It's nice to have real people to deal with and not feel like a bother. read more

The neighborhood is horrible. Since living here, my daughter's car has been stolen and recovered then vandalized again. I was told by another tenant their vehicle had been keyed top to bottom. We were told there were cameras onsite and security at the time of signing the lease agreement. When the car was stolen and we asked about video the office manager said they did not work. I've only seen security twice in the 7 months of living here. I would not recommend this place. The maintenance man is rude. As I was paying my rent he walked in the office talking about a tenant complaint calling her a bitch. Very unprofessional. And the whole share of water cost does not make any sense. How do we even know it is being balanced out correctly? read more

If you are desperate for a place, then maybe think about moving here. If you can go someplace else, GO! First off, they didn't do a walk though with me before hand. I was told, "It looks good" The place was filthy when I moved in. I had to clean before I moved. There were holes in the walls, tape on the walls that had been painted over and nails still in walls. The stay was awful. Noise every night, and neighbors smoking right outside my window so I couldn't open my windows ever. I asked for screens to be installed several times on the bedroom upstairs so I could open those windows at night, but they never were installed. I was told they were "back ordered." When I moved our they didn't do a walk through again, then sent me an outrageous bill... Really?! $15 for a hole in the wall that was already there. I used command strips on anything I put on the walls. I didn't make one hole. The customer service was bad, don't try to call them, they won't answer the phone. read more

My experience leasing from Autumn Glen was by far one of the best since I moved to California, office staff are professional, polite, and quickly resolve any issues. I experienced a plumbing problem and it was resolved within an hour. The maintenance staff are cordial and non-intrusive. Overall if you need a place that will work with you without a condescending tone, then you'll like Autumn Glen. read more

Good luck people this is one of the worst places to rent, every thing was all taken care of for me to rent my apartment and went in to sign my lease and get the keys then they tell me it's $30.00 of mouth more as my moving truck is out side. Bail and switch deal . And not including the they didn't say anything about they charge you for water and garbage and my bill was $50.00-$80.00 Dallas a month and I am single , and no washer and dryer when the owners are double dipping he pay for the in his taxes . And the office manager is a devil , be aware they steal your clothes out of the laundry room that you have to pay for , counter top gave peeling paint on them and windows are so thin and blowing air in when sealed , old and no up dates and good luck trying them to fix thing right after the tenth time read more

I am a repeated tenant of Autumn Glen Apts. And I must say that both experiences have been great. I have a very nice apartment that's clean & somewhat quiet. Sometimes kids will be kids, but I'm still very happy here. At Autumn Glen they let you make your place look like home and are always willing to help when they can. My maintenance needs are always met that's convenient to both myself & the staff. The management here is great. I know sometimes you can't always be sure who you're renting to or what kind of people they'll be. But I do know that the greatest of measures are taken to insure good tenants. Sometimes new tenants will not be what they appeared to be upon moving in but I don't hold Autumn Glen responsible for other peoples behaviors. Our safety & security here is of top priority. Maintenance problems are handled with the highest priority. I know that there are at lest 120 units, so that means that my issues might not get resolved as fast as I'd like, but, I know that i'm not the only one that lives here so the highest priorities will be handled first. I can live with that. Sometimes I take care of my own issues. But one thing I know for sure is that my issues are never ignored. if your looking for a place to live that you want to call home, I highly recommend Autumn Glen Apartments. read more

We have lived here for over a year and have enjoyed every minute of it. The office staff is super helpful with anything. The maintenence is always on top of repairs usually within the same day unless it's a weekend day. The appearance is amazing my daughter loves the little play area they have for kids as well. I'm only giving this place 1 star as it appeared to be what I was looking for when I found this place. Now, if I could find a reason to get out that's exactly what I'd do. I hate this place. I have to share a water bill with 4 other units, I have to pay for trash and sewer, never have I been a renter and had to pay those experiences. You can't drink the water, it's really. Really bad. Comes out really brown. No water pressure no where too hook up a hose to water your plants. And, when you pay on line, they love to put a 3 day notice on your door when their system doesn't notify them when payment had been made. It's been painted inside so many times over that the doors and drawers stick hard when opening. I hate this place. Oh, and you better pray your laundry card never quits working cause it will take up to two weeks to get another. The trash underneath the unit Uhg smells all the time. Don't let the green grass fool you. You don't even get electric in your garage. Wtf no lighting no where to do anything in the garage. It's just a storage unit. read more
