Honestly, I really wanted to love this place as I LOVE anything and everything French, especially the food! But this place was just ok. They have some amazing items like their croissants and cookies are out-of-this world delicious and coffee is pretty good but the pastries and the macarons did not hit the spot for me personally. I also tried a few French pastries in the fort Myers area and I don't know what is it about their dough or butter they use but there's a weird taste that just shouldn't be there in strudels and other baked goods that I've tried. Maybe it's the Florida water...who knows but something is altering the taste a bit for my pallet. I have not tried any savory items but I'd love to try their lunch options next time. The interior is cute but the place is tiny and the outside tables are not very cozy due to the layout of the plaza and frankly, whoever owns that plaza isn't doing the best job maintaining it. My advice, grab your food, pastries or coffee to go. read more

A small bakery shop with delicious baked treats and breads. The employees are very nice and helpful. Their sourdough bread is excellent and they will slice it for you to take home. The chocolate pecan pie was delicious as well as their chocolate eclair. There are so many delicious choices to choose from. There's inside seating as well as outside. The location is in a little strip mall off 41. I don't know if the "help" was the owner or baker but Anna was really helpful. The raisin danish was full of raisins and quite yummy. I also had a blueberry danish. The filling tasted like it came out of a can. The underside was thick and yucky. I'll not purchase another. I also bought a slice of a cake like danish. Can't remember its real name but if you like custard as I do, you'll like this. There are different cookies and sandwiches. Definitely worth another try. read more

It wasn't a donut. This a French patisserie. The almond/chocolate croissants were still warm and so good. We will definitely be back. The Napoleon and the eclair were not quite as good. The butter cream filling for the napoleon was just ho-hum and the filling for the eclair was equally blasé. While there, we observed Chef Andre loading several trays of baked goods in the delivery truck. We wondered where they were going. Turns out we met back up with them at the farmers market at Lakeside Park. Plenty of parking but extremely limited seating. read more

I walked in and was a little taken aback by the interior. Seemed simple but not cozy. I ordered a Croquette Monsieur which was recommended by the staff and I decided to eat there. The espresso machine was broken so I settled for a regular cup of coffee that was a little watered down. When I got my food, the first thing I noticed was the plate had some dark specks on the side but I figured it was just something that could happen during food prep. As I ate, the food was just okay but it wasn't terrible. My appetite slowly started to diminish as I noticed each of the coffee stains on my table, sugar grains on the other table, and the circle of dust on the floor surrounding another table. I stopped here today to try it out as I love french food and pastries. Sadly, they microwaved and cut my croissant in half making it soggy instead of the flakey pastry it should be. The croissant was served with a side salad however the small plastic fork and knife just wouldn't grab the vegetables. In addition, I purchased two macarons to go and they were uncooked inside and had to be tossed in the trash. None of the products look like the pictures on their site. I was in the neighborhood of Aux Delices, an Artisan Bakery and Café by Andre Gratesol. Beside Aux Delices, Andre also operated the Mon Paris Coffee Shop and Bakery by Reflections Parkway, participated in Farmers Markets at Lakes Park, Coconut Point, FSW College, Promenade and Sanibel during the season. Aux Delices serves breakfast and lunch with breakfast sandwiches, Croque monsieur, Quiches, Panni, salads, and of course French pastries. I walked in Aux Delices because they just put a big sign Expresso by the Eiffel Tower. That is a wonderful idea. I will have sip of Expresso with Mille Feuille. Guess what happened? As I was looking at their two glass display cases, I ordered strawberry tart, mixed fruit tarts, éclair, Almond croissant, Chocolate croissant, and ten mini Napoleon or mille feuilles to go. That is two boxes without my beloved Palmiers! They are mouthwatering and delectable! There is one minor problem, Andre, you have to put little more Chocolate in your Chocolate croissant! They serve the traditional pastries and the best baguette I've had in the United States, but they also serve hot breakfast items that are out of this world. We had beach bread, which resembles a light olive oil bread, with baked peppers and onions. The bread was topped with two fried eggs and served with a salad. Great little bakery. They have breakfast sandwiches and quiche, sandwiches for lunch. It is tucked away in a nook in a shopping mall, but a nice little spot if you are looking for a place to have a coffee and a lite bite. They have three tables outside, and I believe one inside. I had a ham, egg, and cheese sandwich on a fresh baguette. The bread was not your normal Florida bread. It was great! Also had a cappuccino. If you like artificial sweeteners though, you will need to bring your own. Sugar is the only option. If like me you are COVID conscious about where you go, this place is a nice safe spot. I love this bakery, I used to go to it as a small child when it was in a different location by the same owner. I know the owner personally, I grew up with their granddaughter. (We went to France together when I was in middle school.) Their food is some of the most authentic you can get in FL. They are some of the nicest and welcoming people, I dream of their food. Get a Croque Monsieur, or a Pain au Chocolat with a nice shot of Lavazza, it will warm your soul. I would recommend anyone in the area to go somewhere local like this place then a place like Perkins. We stopped by to check out the place on the way to an Apple Store appointment. The restaurant is located in a strip mall, in a small, little unit. We arrived at 2pm & it was about 90 degrees outside. The woman working the counter had the door open and greeted us with a warm "bonjour". The cafe has about 4 glass cases with different pastries, breads & desserts. The woman working the counter told us that the chef was French and that everything was made fresh each day. I'm not sure if she meant that they make something each day or if everything was made each day. We looked though the cases & decided on a cream puff pastry, napoleon & an almond croissant. We also ordered a diet coke & bottled water & a key lime pie tart & a white chocolate eclair to go for my parents. I'm not sure of the prices, but for those 5 items & a soft drink & a bottled water it was about $21. The woman working the counter got our stuff together we were eating there & told us to pay later. We tried the items we ordered there. I had the cream puff. I really enjoyed the cream flavor, the pastry part of it was good, but I felt like it was probably a few days old. The outside of the pasty was pretty hard. I had to use the fork to cut into it & it smashed out all the cream that was inside. I tried the almond croissant & it tasted good, but the croissant was smashed down into the almond marzipan. I like what I had. I didn't love it. I liked the shop & cafe, I felt they mad a good product but I didn't think it was as fresh as the woman working the counter advertise. All of the baked goods we have purchased here remind me of my visits to Lyon, France. I had never tasted a Pain au Chocolate until I had breakfast in Lyon. My waitress insisted I try one. I'm now forever in her debt! Aux Delices makes these tasty pastries even better than I recalled. The croissants are out of this world!
