The food is good, but they take soooo long to prepare your food. Calling in your order, they always estimate 20 minutes, but it's closer to an hour. I wouldn't recommend this as a sit down and dine restaurant unless you have a lot of free time and don't mind noise. read more

I've lived in LA and San Diego most of my life. I can't say that there are very many good eats out here in the AV. But this place.... GO here!! If you have never tried Mediterranean food. This is the place! They are definitely worth a try. I love their rice, hummus, gyro meat, and chicken shawarma. The beef kabob is ok, not overcooked but nothing to write home about in terms of taste. I would pass on their chicken kabob though (bland and overcooked). I can't speak on behalf of their lamb kabob since I'm not a fan of lamb in the first place. It has excellent portions and great prices. Even my picky 4 year old likes this place. I have never eaten at the location; I always order it to go. But it's sooooo delicious. It also has a conjoined Mediterranean market with lots of goodies. This place does get busy so sometimes do expect to wait 10-15 minutes. And don't expect them to have your order ready if you order over the phone; sometimes they just get too busy. But it's SOOOOOO worth the wait. Trust me! read more

Here is a awesome kabob place in the heart of Lancaster. They have all the usual things you can order. Large portions at a fair price. Try the combination plate with mixed kobobs all in one. My family and I have been coming here for the past 2 years, and AV Kabob has the best chicken kabob combo ever. Their hummus is fantastic, and there huge pieces of chicken are cooked just right along with their salad that gives it the finishing touch for the combo. read more

The price is right $6.49 for a good size beef pita. You will wait just know that in advance. This is not Burger King. The place is usually a little unkept, sometimes the tables are a little dirty. Not today and no worse than a typical Mexican restaurant. Same price for lunch and dinner. I've been coming here for 4 years, not a regular just infrequently. I think the food is fine and the negative comments are probably friends of other food establishments. Check it out for yourself. I think you will either like it or not. This place probably has the worst customer service in town. I went to go order food today promptly at 11 am once they opened, and the cook informed me that she's not going to start cooking until 11:30 am so she can go outside and smoke. This is not the first encounter I have had similar to this. The food is okay for the price, but there are other places in town that sell better quality food. The restaurant itself is very dirty and so is the bathroom. The sink is always clogged with what looks like mold. read more

I visit this location very often and I am always satisfied with the chicken kabob meals. I can't speak of the other menu items as I've never tried them. Honestly, if you consider this place to be in a "bad neighborhood" you're probably a pussy. I don't understand what there is to be afraid of...homeless people? C'mon. Yes, the building is run down and that floor could use a good once-over but Its not dirty or "scary". And yes you can get better middle eastern food in the valley or in LA but I don't always feel like driving to LA to get a god damn falafel sandwich. With that said I've always liked the food here. I honestly think they make some of the best falafel I've had in lancaster OR LA. I usually get the the vegetarian plate which comes with hummus, baba ganoush, taboleh, dolma, falafel, salad and pita (costs about $8). My only complaint is the salad. Sometimes its good and other times the lettuce is wilted. I think the hummus is outstanding, its smooth and creamy and delicious. The baba ganoush has a great roasted/smokey flavor and is the perfect consistency. The falafel is where its at though. Its always expertly seasoned and cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside and not too dense in the center. I've never been disappointed by the dolma either.The taboleh is just okay. Not great but respectable. If you havent tried this place you should stop in and try the falafel. Don't be put off by anyone who tells you its "dirty" or "scary". I'll admit that its not the nicest place to look at, inside or out. But its good food. read more

Let's see where shall I start first of all there customer service is horrible i called to see what time they closed and I was told 9pm so I arrived around 8:25 the gentleman at the register told me to take a seat while I looked over the menu since it was my first time eating there. When I finally figured out what I wanted I walked up to the cashier to place my order only to be told by a woman that it's too late there closed! Mine you it was only 8:32 they close at 9pm and I was there since 8:25 so I had to explain to them that I don't live in the area and I drove a while to get there plus the time they spent going back and forth with me they could have been making my food so finally another customer who was a regular that was there eating with his family told them they would lose his business if they didnt take my order! That lady messed up the order after REPEATING OUR ORDER TO THEM THREE TIMES!The same woman gave our food to other customers and then told us to wait thirty more minutes after they told us it would all be ready within a certain time frame. She even had audacity to tell paying customers "to pick up the food or leave." The lady had a very RUDE and NASTY attitude and I don't not see myself eating at this place anytime soon. Would not recommend eating here after that. Save yourself some time and don't bother arguing with some of the bad mannered, disrespectful employees that work here. This place was horrible. I purchased food for my boyfriend and I and found a shard piece of GLASS in my food. Called and the lady brushed it off. Like you could've seriously injured us if one of us had ingested that! That's a major food safety concern. We heard about this place from neighbors. We made the trek from Quartz Hill and found the place okay. It is not the greatest looking place but that is where the comparison ends. We ordered lamb kebob and a combination chicken-falafel plate. Each entree came with rice, hummus, a very large warmed pita, and a salad. The food was excellent and more than ample in quantity. A great place for kabobs! If you have ever been through the middle east or turkey, you know the look of this place isnt all that bad. Its one of those little food joints that doesnt look great on the outside but has plenty or "great" on the inside. One of the few places around that serves lamb. I havent had everything off the menu but the shawarmas are great, all the kabobs too. The garlic sauce i could buy by the tub its that great. the hommous is the best i have had anywhere, including some middle eastern countries I have been too. Dont let the outside looks keep you from stopping in. Its real food. read more
