Gyro Pita (the Works) - $11.95
    Harold S.

I tried this place out for lunch on a weekday. It was very quiet inside as there are quite a few other different eating places in the strip mall where this place is located. They seemed to have a somewhat limited menu but I was able to order a beef and lamb gyro which I always enjoy. For $11.95 it came with a choice of one side, and I took the cucumber and tomato salad. They call this combo "the works". I thought it was all quite good and satisfying. There was a sign on the door for a $9.95 special for exactly what I ordered, but I was told that special was only available from 3 to 6 pm. If you like mediterranean food, this place is just fine.

APOLA is part of a chain in SOUTHERN CA, and this location is at 28263 Newhall Ranch Road in Santa Clarita. It was our very first visit. You have to place your order at the counter. This is always a disappointment. We prefer being waited on. If you are not familiar with Greek food, it can be very confusing. The Servers at the counter were very helpful. There is no wine or beer, which is always a bummer. One person in our party ordered a plate. It had numerous choices on it, which were tasty, but the Beef/Lamb Gyro was dry. The venue is very clean, but lacks charm. It is more like a cafeteria, Next time I will consider it for lunch, rather than a dinner. We were bid adieu on the way out, which is always a nice gesture.

Gyromania has some serious competition now for Greek food. I saw this place was closed for a very long time and noticed it was open with a special deal for today only. It was the pita with gyro meat. I got it for 3.28$ for who knows how long it will last. Customer service was pretty good. I was the only one inside ordering, and they had 2 gentlemen in their teens making my pita wrap. They were kind and good at what they did. There were other people like a small family. The ambiance is solid. It is around the gym I go to daily and some nearby restaurants. As for the wrap itself. It had a burst of tzatziki flavor and seasoned lamb. The lamb was seasoned well and cooked properly with really good bites. The texture was great, and the taste with all the ingredients like onion, tomato, olives, and parsley was fantastic. I didn't put fries inside mine because it was going to damage my skin and make me fat. The ingredients were high quality, and the size of the pita wrap was pretty big. I'm not sure if this is a grand opening. I don't think it is because of all the other reviews, but it is a solid Greek restaurant that I will have to come again to try other items. I recommend this place to eat as gyromania was sort of a go to. However, I will regular this place out and seek out other menu items.

When people finally (better late than never) decide to stop eating deceased animal products (sorry, that is what they are), they often have no idea how to construct a nutritious meal that is balanced and has enough protein while not sacrificing flavor and excitement. My advice is always to start with a Mediterranean diet, best exemplified by either Southern Italian or Greek food. The latter is the ideal choice for this important and planet-saving transition. Can I also tell you that never once, not once, in 46 years of eating as a vegetarian, have I ever looked over at what most people eat and wished I could have it too. The majority of the world eats the way I do and deliciously, with lots of seasoning and magic. Now let's talk about Apola Greek Grill. As you may know, I consider Santa Clarita to be a culinary desert. Every so often over the past two and a half decades, someone comes along and tries to change that. We had a wonderful Greek restaurant here that disappeared a decade ago. We have virtually no authentic Chinese places at all. But, all that changed this week! I got a card in the mail introducing Apola Greek Grill. I pounced on it and wow! I am so thankful, grateful, satisfied, delighted, over the moon -- you name it. This is not only Mediterranean, it is the best example of Greek food I can imagine. Every single dish was out-of-this-world delicious. Seasoned to perfection, grilled flawlessly, arranged in its gleaming nest artfully, so appetizing that I literally couldn't decide what to eat first. Here is what we ordered for a group: *Falafel bowls (Mediterranean patty made from a blend of chickpeas, fresh herbs and spices) *Grilled veggies *Dolma (grape leaves stuffed with rice and rolled) *Tzatziki spread (Traditional Greek yogurt with cucumbers, dill, garlic and EVO) *Feisty feta (the orange side; puréed roasted eggplant with lemon, garlic, parsley, herbs and EVO) *Skorthalia (garlic spread; puréed roasted garlic, with potatoes, bread crumbs, sea salt and EVO) *Hummus (Mediterranean spread of chickpeas, tahini, lemon, spices, and EVO) *Greek salad (Roma Tomatoes, Red Onions, Green Peppers, Herbs, Cucumbers, Kalamata Olives, Feta Cheese & EVO. Served with Pita and two spreads) *Baklava (Phyllo Dough (puff pastry) Filled with Honey and Walnuts) All of that came to less than $50. The venue itself is gleaming and immaculate white and blue, just like the gorgeous sparkling city of Athens itself. The quality of the meals is first-rate, it smelled as good as it looked and tasted. I have been to Greece -- Apola is clearly the result of people who are native to the culture and the cuisine. It has not been Americanized, as we seem to require of most things, sadly, with the exception of the marrying of a baklava and Cheese Cake, that we did not try. Baklava is one of the best sweets on earth, that lily doesn't need gilding, imho. Right at Thanksgiving, the gods rewarded me for my willingness to venture out in Santa Clarita instead of heading down, over the hill. Apola delivers but I appreciate the chance to interact with the cheerful, friendly, professional staff, like Shealyn, who made being in the restaurant itself pure joy. Thank you to the Kosmides family for taking a chance on us and putting this gem here in the high desert. I hope we reward you as you have done us, this season. (efcharistó)! Thank you!

Dining area was clean and inciting both inside and out. Staff was friendly and helpful. Place sparkles and had lots of free parking. Ordered the wraps and had a coffee. We loved that breakfast is served all day and it's delicious. Highly recommend it!

Never been to this establishment. First timer. The staff was super friendly and willing to answer all my questions concerning menu items. We dined at the restaurant. The ambiance was nice and d quiet and we were able to have a beautiful conversation without screaming at each other. Nice and quiet. The food was delicious. We ordered the chicken plate. Good size meal.

I just wanted to give a shout out to Apóla Greek Grill in Valencia Great customer service and I love the food! I have been there 3 times in the last two weeks the manager is so sweet and I love that she knows my order and the rest of the staff are helpful and kind. I'm always looking for good Dolma and fresh pita - and this place has it! (I like vegetarian dolma). Plus their spicy hummus and spicy feta are They are located next door to Olive Terrace.

Dry, not appealing, gyro. This is 'the works'?

All good things come to an end? And so fast? I'm very, very, disappointed. My stellar review is no longer. What a turn of events. Last 2 orders were a little off but we all have those days and I excused it. Tonight, I ordered via the app (I've done this numerous times)- I ordered my usual plate and my husband's The Works Gyro. I want to add, my husband has always said the gyro was fine but not the greatest because the meat is not freshly shaved. Anyway, when I walked in to pick up, it was a whole different vibe. Who are these people? Was this location sold? New management? Got my food, brought it home. Once home and I opened my plate, it seemed slightly light and no dolma. My husband took a look at his gyro and said, 'What the hell is this?' Meat is gross and dry looking, two paper thin tomatoes, and 3 slithers of onion. It really doesn't look appetizing at all. He literally left it on the kitchen counter in disgust and said he's going to get something to eat. Great, he's gonna be grumpy all freakin night. To wrap this up, it was a nice few visits but I believe this place has changed hands and I'm no longer interested in spending my money here.

Greek fast food. The "bowl" with one protein was a good size and plenty for lunch. The beef/lamb was ok but a bit too salty. Next time, I'll try the chicken instead. Quinoa was cooked well. Service was good and the place is clean.

Yum! I really like this spot! Just had lunch here! I got a Greek salad with gyro chicken. SUPER FRESH! All the veggies were crisp, abs the dressing was really good! The meat was juicy with good flavor & spices, but not too salty like a lot of places that serve this style of rotisserie type meat. You see it at Turkish, Armenian & Lebanese type spots, but I think I like the Greek seasoning the best. I do wish the salad had a little more feta, but that's a personal preference because I'm a cheese whore. The place was EXTREMELY CLEAN and the employees were very nice as well. I HIGHLY recommend. I'm being carb conscious right now or I would've definitely tried their baklava cheesecake. I've never even heard of that anywhere omg... it looked bomb but I stayed strong lol. I'll for sure come back.

I choose the plain chicken pieces. You can customize the ingredients and sauce. I chose the Tahini sauce. By the time the staff had finished with my wrap, it was huge. I took it to go and by the time I got it home the wrap was already falling apart, partially from the amount of sauce they had placed in as well as the fact that the pita just could not hold up to the toppings. I ended up eating it with a knife and fork. I was happy about the generosity of filling but as a wrap it just did not hold up. I think next time I will just get the plate. There were only 2 staff members when I went but they were pretty efficient. Plenty of seating inside and area seemed fairly clean.

We'd been shooting for hours and hadn't eaten that day, so were starving, yet I still couldn't finish it. Ingredients were fresh, and portion was very generous. There's an ice-cream shop on 1 side and a cookie shop on the other side of this place, so plenty of treats nearby to keep your toddler busy while you enjoy your meal (like we did lol).

*****TLDR- uncooked falafel*****…read more It's the first Greek restaurant I have been to where the falafel was completely uncooked. I have eaten dry falafels and under cooked falafels in the past but never came across falafels where the inside was a raw slurry like paste. Too high cooking heat, too much water in the batter can cause this. Disappointed to say the least as this place is highly recommended by yelpers and made its place in Yelp top 100 as well. I did talk to our waitress about the falafel, she agreed they were uncooked and she got us a couple of extra as compensation. Unfortunately the new batch was more raw and undercooked than what we were originally served. They seriously need to figure out what's wrong and fix it. Though I hate wasting food, all the falafels were inedible and we had to throw them. Falafels aside, rest of the items were actually pretty decent. Barring the pita bread which tasted non descript, the chicken was beautifully cooked, the sauces were all amazing. The garlic dip was the best. They also had a green chilli sauce, I loved the heat from this one. The rice was unique as well, some kind of herbaceous flavor and nice separate grains of rice. Not a fan of fries but the ones here were actually delicious. Nice crispy coating and with the garlic dip the combo was stellar.
