    Grilled chicken plate

First time here, order placed with an employee once inside, then seating is chosen. Inside dining area is small and was busy so opted for tables and chairs street front. Food arrived and it was nothing short of excellent!! So flavorful and delicious!! Folks working here are nice, parking though is challenging. Sure wish this little restaurant was closer to home, I'd return in a blink!

The date shake! YUM. We had the hummus & falafel plate with a side of cheese. It was super good. The outdoor table was sticky & there (purposely?) is no service. The 'sit down, order & close out, immediately' is weird. Maybe I'm unaware of glorified pick-up counters? But that's what this is. We interacted with our server exactly ONCE. Why are we tipping? Raise prices if you need to pay your staff more but don't put it on me to add 20% for someone to take my order & another to drop food at my table. That's not full-service but asking me to tip as though it is full-service BEFORE service is even received is diabolical. & just as suspected, the 20% tip before service, ensured that we'd be invisible after we ordered. Why are we okay with this tipping culture?

DELICIOUS! Such a cute outdoor shop in Atwater Village! All the ingredients felt so fresh and were seasoned to perfection. I do wish they gave a tad more sauce and protein for the price. I was very satisfied with this meal and would 100% go back. Parking can be tricky, but there's free parking in the neighborhood behind the restaurant if you don't mind walking a bit. They have have a sister restaurant nextdoor that I want to check out one day. The service was great! Super yummy stuff

I ordered their lamb plate... so good I had it three nights in a row. Also my order was DoorDash so it's not as warm and fresh as served at the restaurant but still SO GOOD.

This grilled chicken souvlaki rocked my world. The chicken tasted so fresh and had a really nice marinade. Loved the fresh flavors inside with the cucumber, tomato, feta, onion. The flatbread was nice and warm and a good size. I paired it with the Arnold Palmer which was refreshing, but I would try something else next time as I think I wanted maybe a hint of sweetness. They have a patio outside with small tables, or you can order to-go at the pickup window. Honestly a perfect place for lunch! I can't stop thinking about it!

Some of the freshest food you'll have in Los Angeles. Idk why some of the comments are expecting authentic food when the chef is from Louisiana lol, but his take on the cuisine is amazing. He treats the flavors well and you can tell how thought out the menu is. We didn't have a wait since we got there around opening, but at 12:30 there was a bit of a wait. We ordered the beet sandwich and falafel plate. Explosion of flavor of each and every ingredient tastes like they plucked just 5 minutes ago. Everything is layered and complimented well. My only compliant in my beet sandwich, the egg was much deeper in the sandwich versus being up top. Absolutely come and check it out.

Apparently this place used to be way more casual, where you'd order at the window and then seat yourself. But now, the hostess will seat you! I love how it's only outdoor seating here, with plenty of string lights that make the ambience feel very...European? Magical? Like you're dining in Italy? It was giving Owen Wilson in Midnight in Paris - right in the middle of Atwater Village haha. We ordered: HUMMUS & FRIEND CHICKEN: Incredible. The amount of different textures and tastes on this plate was ART. It was like a painting truly. The chicken was fried to perfection...had a hint of Christmas to it, that we couldn't place our finger on. Nutmeg? Idk, but it tasted festive. Paired with the pickled vegetables, tahini sauce, chickpeas..ooo la la it was a pure Remy from Ratatouille moment. One of these plates can feed 2, because it is HUGE. FRENCH FRIES w FETA: Also great! Never thought I'd love feta with my fries, but this was DOPE. The seasoning on the fries was very complex as well. It's a huge side, so ofc we took most of it to-go. The staff was plenty friendly, and service was pretty fast. I'd definitely come back!

This entire experience was just amazing. The staff are very friendly and personable and the food is made with such good and fresh ingredients. Would absolutely recommend to anyone in the mood for some Mediterranean

One of my favorite restaurants in Atwater Village! Dune uses fresh, quality ingredients that really shine on each dish. My go to for lunch has been the steak gyro. The grilled steak and veggies in the warm, fluffy pita work so well and make for a perfect bite. The hummus meza plate has great variety and is another staple. To order we went to the window and were served at the outdoor seating. Great service, cool ambiance, and incredible food!

Dune is delicious! Produce always seems super fresh and the chicken is juicy and well seasoned. As someone who is gluten free I appreciate that they can sub out the pita for some cucumber slices on the mezze pIate. I also love their mint iced tea. Our food typically comes out quickly, but my one complaint is that it's only outside seating and relatively limited. I know that their brick and mortar space is not big enough to accommodate inside seating, but it would be so nice to have a location with a vibey indoor area. Either way, I will continue to come back and always bring friends along with!

Small Mediterranean eatery/Café located on the busy strip of Atwater Village. There's an ordering window which you can order and take out, but there's also some limited seating out front if you want to eat there. The food here is fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced. There's also a pretty obvious nod to the 1965 science fiction novel 'Dune'. (Look up the original cover, haha) It's slightly casual in that after order you sit down and wait for them to bring you your food. Of course there's a server that helps you if you wanna order more you need anything I've had this place bookmarked for a long time and been wanting to go. I finally got to go here for dinner because I was going to a concert in the area at The Greek and thought this was a perfect place to eat prior to show. I ended up ordering a falafel plate with some mint tea. I thought everything was well prepared and really delicious. The falafel had great texture and flavor and the hummus was very flavorful as well. The entire plate was definitely a lot of food, but not too much. I still felt light walking up that hill to get to The Greek. Overall, the experience was great pretty quick. The parking in the area wasn't a problem because I was there on Tuesday night, which is not as busy as the weekend. I was able to find parking almost right out in front of the restaurant.

I found myself in Glendale and had this place book marked for a while now. It's a walk up order and they have outdoor seating you can wait in line for. We ordered the fried chicken hummus plate and a side of fries. We also ordered a rosemary lemonade. The lemonade was just ok pretty boring actually, wouldn't get again. As for the food, everything was fresh and flavorful. The chicken was moist and well seasoned, the fries were nicely seasoned and fresh. The hummus was tasty with all the sides including the cabbage etc...this is enough for 2 people for sure. Thanks Dune, you did not disappoint!

I have had this place bookmarked for years!!! I recently saw this place online so I finally tried it out. Visiting Glendale Blvd. parking can be tricky, but not impossible. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but this is not indoor dining. It is strictly outdoor seating with a welcoming atmosphere. Once our order was taken you pay upfront which is weird...with tip of course, which I guess goes to the kitchen and not the servers? I'm not entirely sure. I ordered the falafel sandwich and the fries to share. The sandwich was very healthy and so filling I could hardly eat it like a sandwich haha. I liked the seasoning of the fries and they give a lot of it.

Where does everyone park? I waited 20 minutes and circled the block and area several tines and could not find parking anyone have advice on parking I really want to try and eat here one day.

Where is the best place to park? Ive been here at 2pm and circled the block three and waited 15 minutes just for a parking space and did not have any luck, Im hoping to try again some other day.

Do you use peanut oil for frying the chicken?

What kind of oil is used for frying falafel? Thanks!

    Sunflower oil!

    Are the falafels gluten-free?

I believe the falafel balls are, however the pita bread is made with wheat.

They had utensils, napkins, and sauces with containers while you wait. I ordered the falafel bowl and pali salad in case the bowl itself wasn't enough. It did take longer than the other orders but once I got it, we sat outside where they had a few tables and chairs. The bowl looked fresh and vibrant, so many colors and a decent amount of falafel. I tried their white and mazbout sauces on the salad. I'm glad it had spinach as it helped reduce water from seeping out. The falafel was slightly spicy since I am terrible with spic r tolerance but the sauce made it very balanced. I also got to try someone's fries and it was super delicious, the spices they used on the fries were flavorful and the fried were very crispy and smooth inside. Overall, very nice quick lunch, we arrived before they opened right at 12pm and avoided the lunch rush! Very affordable prices as well.

Well, to start off, I must admit I drove by this place about 10 times before I finally went in. All…read morethose times, I never saw people inside. Which I understand why. I finally went in today and sadly, was not only disappointed, my fantasy of Falafel King was destroyed forever. I know Benito used to work for Falafel King, but this place is nothing like it. The service was horrible. The guy behind the little counter was not nice at all. In fact he was rude. And didn't like if you asked him questions. But that aside, sitting in this little tiny restaurant was not a good feeling. We were the only ones there. They have a seating area outside, I'm guessing for overflow - yet, the table and chairs were right there in the middle of the restaurant. Piled up. They didn't even bother to take it outside. Put all that aside - we get to the food. One of the best things Falafel King has were the "chips", which were battered slices of potatoes that were deep fried. These were slices of potato, they were potato chips. Thin. No "meat" on them, if you know what I mean. And sadly, they were fried either early this morning or last night. Terrible, cold, hard, no taste - not even salt. We move on the falafel - which tasted good. The taste of the falafel itself was good, but the oil dripping down my hand an face was not. I blame that on the oil not being hot enough when he put the falafel into the oil. Next, the actual shwarma is not really shwarma (like you all know it). There was no revolving slab of meat where the fat melts into the meat and makes it so so special. No. This was a little baggy of already cooked meat with no spices on it thrown on the plancha and heated up. Hard and tasteless. Very disappointing. I picked it out of my pita and ate the salad with tehina and spicy eggplant (which WAS tasty). The pita is also a thin hard pita - not the nice fluffy type. I didn't finish my food, and my friend didn't finish the food, as you can see in the pictures. Sorry to give it a 1 - but to say you have ANY connection to "Falafel King" is a disgrace. Sorry if I sound brutal. I tell it like it is.
